Guest El Satanico Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Once again Buena Vista Home Entertainment has postponed the Ed Wood DVD, which was suppose to be released next Tuesday. SON OF A BITCH!!!!
Mole Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Was the movie as good as everyone said it was?
Guest DVD Spree Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 I've covered this in the TuesDVDay News I'm about to post. Copies are showing up on Ebay like crazy - if you see one in a store near you, buy about 20 copies, as this is probably going to be the second coming of Little Shop of Horrors.
Mole Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Ed Wood was on Starz a lot last month, but I always caught it in the middle or near the end.

Don't forget The History of Beavis and Butthead.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Was the movie as good as everyone said it was? Yeeees it is as good as people say. Of course that now means you will go in with high expections, which will ruin the film for you. It's a mediocre film, so enjoy

Some people might get theirs if they ordered online and it was shipped before the delay announcement, but I doubt that many would have been shipped this early.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Something a little more horrifying. They're making a Dumbo 2.
Lightning Flik Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Something a little more horrifying. They're making a Dumbo 2. NO~!!! NO!!! no...

2GOLD Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Burn in hell Disney Just BURN IN HELL Just what we need, Dumbo with an hour of fart jokes. This is why Disney animation has went to hell, it's not as good as the modern classics because they try to hip the stuff up. Imagine how much some of the classics would have sucked if they used American Idol jokes???
Guest El Satanico Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 A DVD release for this great movie being delayed for the second time, is far worse than some meaningless direct to video sequel.

Guest Anglesault Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 A DVD release for this great movie being delayed for the second time, is far worse than some meaningless direct to video sequel. Adding a meaningless sequel to an awesome classic movie is a travesty
Guest El Satanico Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 These DTV sequels will be forgotten in ten years, so it's not that big of a deal. Until they start remaking the classics and updating them to appeal to current generations of kids, there's no reason to worry about any of it.
Brush with Greatness Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Umm, Amazon has the release date as April 4, 2004. You make it seem as if they have no plans to ever release it.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 I never said anything of the sort. I only said that it had been delayed twice. I'm aware that it will come out eventually, but damnit I've been waiting for it to be released on DVD longer than most people have had DVD players. Now the bastids are teasing me with it.

Holy crap it's INSANITY on Ebay. Copies of Ed Wood are going for anywhere betwwen $70 - $115 US. If I fluke out and see this in stores I well definately be buying as many as I can.
The Amazing Rando Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 I feel distraught that you are attacking the company I used to work for. Note: I don't care about Dumbo 2 ...as it's basically meaningless to me and it doesn't take away from the classic nature of the first one at all.. kinda like how I don't care about Lion King 1.5 or 2 ... or any other sequels... And as far as Ed Wood... all I can say is "meh"
Guest El Satanico Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 If you worked for them, I'm surprised you wouldn't have worse things to say. And don't you dare "meh" Ed Wood
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Ed Wood Scissorhands! [joke stolen from...somewhere I forget ^.^] I keep hearing how good this movie is, so I'll check it out next time I'm at the library.
Guest Razor Roman Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Dumbo II was cancelled according to something I read fairly recently. They were going to do it traditional, then they were going to do it CGI, and when they showed CGI Dumbo to some of the old animations, like Frank & Ollie, they balked at it, thought it was terrible, etc., so they shelved the project, at least for the time being. If only they were this hot to make that damn Roger Rabbit sequel.
godthedog Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 between this, eviscerating their animation department, and refusing to pay 'peter pan' royalties to a children's hospital, this company just gets dumber and dumber.
Placebo Effect Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Hey, they've delivered two awesome direct-to-video "Recess" films, along with an equally awesome theatrical released movie. They can slaughter children for all I care, pending that the next one isn't delayed.
Tawren Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 between this, eviscerating their animation department, and refusing to pay 'peter pan' royalties to a children's hospital, this company just gets dumber and dumber. Explain what that is all about.
DMann2003 Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 I bought a DVD-R of the Japanese release that has all the special features except for the Audio Commentary for 20 bucks, so even though I'm bummed I have to wait longer to own it officially, I can still watch Ed Wood on DVD :-)
