How would you rate these matches?

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen

It seems these are prospective WM matches for the REAL World Title. How good do you think they can/will be and why?

HHH vs. Chris Benoit - I think it'll be an awesome, awesome, ME. HHH has been underrated since his vastly underappreciated match with Booker T at WM XIX. He loves old school style matches, and Benoit can definitly deliver on that front. There should be some great brawling, some cool submissions, and likely Benoit's first World Heavyweight Championship.

HBK vs. Chris Benoit - Could be even better then HHH/Benoit. Maybe HBK can have the match with benoit, that he never could have with Bret. Should be a lot of fun, and likely both men will attempt to put the Sharpshooter on each other.

HHH vs. HBK vs. Benoit (Ladder Match) - Ugh. 'Mania ME's should never be more then 1 vs. 1.

HBK/Benoit would be the better match, but if they're not gonna do HHH/Rocky then HHH doesn't really have an opponent, so let Benoit win the title off Hunter in a singles match and give HBK to someone else, like RVD.

For whatever reason this WON'T be the main event most likely. Vince will probably put it as Goldberg vs. Brock. That's fine though, means I don't have to watch the whole thing :).

I'd take either Benoit vs. HHH or HBK. I don't like the idea of the ladder match, at all. I'd probably shoot for Benoit vs. HBK more, definitely because of a likely better match, but it's hard to pass up Benoit likely beating HHH for the title.

Benoit can carry anyone to ****+. That's all I have to say.

ANYONE?!?! As good as Benoit is, I still think there are guys in the company that could be carried to a **** match by ANYONE.

All 3 in a Texas Deathmatch..........so WWE can have all three tie for a draw. They go for a superplex spot but both HHH and HBK get thrown outside the ring by Benoit, who then believes that he is Dyamite Kid and does a headbutt on one or both but it goes bad as Beniot misses and goes thru a table. All three get counted out by Hebner.

I don't think anyone can really rush to judgement on whether or not the match will get auto ****+'s just because Benoit is in it. Sure the stage is set for them to have a good match, but you never know. Sometimes guys have off nights and sometimes, for whatever reason, certain guys timing's may be off with another. I predict it should do around 3 to 4 snowflakes, but I wouldn't set expectations so high just yet.

OK, OK, I exaggerated.

Given the current situation, Benoit vs HHH will more than likely be better than Benoit vs HBK as far as match quality goes. If Benoit were heel wrestling a face HBK than HBK vs Benoit could definitely be better.

HHH will have to do a lot of the carrying at Mania if he wrestles Benoit because he's the heel. Heels tend to lead. Faces tend to follow.

The only time the Royal Rumble winner DIDN'T main event the WM was in 1995, and we all know the reason there. WWF was desperate as hell to get some publicity so they shoved Lawrence Taylor down our throats.

As for ratings, I can't say because Benoit/HHH hasn't happend since 2001 and Benoit/HBK never.

Totally wrong, how about Austin in 1997?

Benoit v. HBK - **** to ****1/2 if both bust their ass.

Benoit v. HHH - *** to ***1/2 if Benoit has his best working boots on.

Benoit v. HHH v. HBK - gimmick match or not, it'll likely be a clusterfuck with 8 dozen run-ins and ref bumps. Maybe ***.

And how the fuck is HHH underappreciated? "Gee, he doesn't suck in the ring as bad as his opponent, Nash or Goldberg." "He sure works hard against his BEST FRIEND, who's still a very good to great worker." He doesn't deserve any appreciation beyond that.

HHH/Benoit.

Put Shawn in a Ladder Match with someone else...with the whole "I put Ladder Matches on the map 10 years ago" thing placed on the feud.

EDIT:

Whoa....pretyt much off topic...but the new RAW Magazine cover made me mark out:

Technically I wouldn't count him as winning, since Monsoon over-ruled the result (or thats how I think it went). So no one won in 1997 thanks to some odd booking (damn HBK)

I demand HBK vs Matt Hardy at WM damnit.

In a perfect world HBK wins the Intercontinental from Orton due to Foley screwing him over which adds more to their match at WM. Then HBK can put Hardy over by giving up the Intercontinental to Hardy in a Ladder match. I think those two could pull off one hell of a Ladder Match.

As far as enjoyable matches go I have to think that

Benoit vs. Trips for the title

HBK vs Matt Hardy in a Ladder Match for the IC

Orton vs Foley

would be one of the better contributions Raw has put in a combined PPV in forever.

Seconded. That match would kick all kinds of ass.

Or McMahon in 1999.

Or Hogan in 1990.

They won the Rumble but did get the ME at Mania.

Bah. I still want Angle/HBK.

But right now that's not do-able

Are you saying you wouldn't enjoy a Matt Hardy/HBK feud with Hardy being put over?

I stand corrected, but I tend to forget the shitty rumbles.

and to be fair, the Winner gets a title shot at the Rumble didn't start until 1993. 1991 was a coincidence or Hogan wanted to win that bad, 1992 was for the World Title itself and all the rumbles before that were just battle royales with an extra kick to it.

The extra kick being a big winner's purse. I believe the RR for 89 had the stipulation of whoever wins got 10K...and that ended up being Big John Studd

That's okay, but doesn't seem realistic at this point considering just where on the card Matt Hardy is. (i.e. - on Heat every week)

I would MUCH rather have a HBK/RVD feud culminating with a ladder match at WrestleMania, and Van Dam going over.

A Shawn Michaels/Rob Van Dam ladder match has been a dream match of mine for YEARS.

If HBK didn't put over Jericho then what makes anyone think he'd lose to a low carder who jobbed to Zack Gowen?

Technically, Monsoon said he couldn't overrule the ref's decision. So Austin was the undisputed Rumble winner. However, Monsoon would not give him the title shot based on the way he won it, thus the Final Four was born. Sorry to nitpick on that.

Wel 1996-1999 is hard to remember for some reason, so I just blank out sometimes on something I should know.
