The OAO Hate/Defend Randy Orton Thread

I'm not good with introductions for threads, hence why I rarely ever start one, but I'm sure I'm not alone in getting fed up with going into every other thread and read about how Orton sucks/has no heat and then have the argument continue with some real arguments and some lame ones.

Hopefully all the arguments about Orton can stay here, but the odds of that are worse than winning the lottery.

I'll get the ball started though: I think Orton is improving but him botching all of his finishing moves is laughable. He's not over and the only time he draws heat is by sucking it away from someone over (Like Mick Foley)

He has absolutely no wrestling skill at all, none, he doesn't even know how to get in the ring, and he can't talk on the mic at all, and half the arena leaves everytime they see or hear his name.

That about sums it up.

I think the Orton hate is way over-played on here. He can't be any worse than O'haire or Cena in the ring, which are given credit for their "wrestling ability" when in reality they pretty much suck in the ring (granted, Cena is good promo). Believe me, I'm no Orton fan, but the hate against the guy is obsessive.

I'm bored with Orton. It's all about Mark Henry now. Teddy Long could make the IC title into something special but it looks like The World's Most Angry Sweaty Man will not get a title shot anytime soon.

Cena can make the company some $$$ on his own merits.

O'Haire is just a preliminary guy.

Unfortunately for WWE and us, Orton is neither.

That's true, but mainly I was referencing to their in ring ability. I'm not trying to summarise people's opinions here but O'haire and Cena seem to get a more positive reaction when it comes to their wrestling ability (when they shouldn't) and Orton gets blasted.

O' Haire is terrible. All the sheep got erections when Scott Keith started to like him.

What sheep? Where?

I didn't even like the fucker until he started appearing on WWE TV as a badass.......then he dissapeared....now I could care less.....but if he came back as a badass..........oh yeah........

I have no opinion either way for O'Haire, but if WWE would've given him more than a few weeks on SD with minimal wrestling then maybe I'd care. And no, I rarely watch Velocity, where he resides 99% of the time.

That ponytail was really bad ass. And the purple too.

And Murmuring Beast, I was being sarcastic, but considering that wasn't far off from some of the stuff people around here tend to say I understand the confusion.

Why I like Orton (and I do, leading to some idiots coughTAWRENcough, wanting me banned)

- He's new...as in your pathetic cry to VKM to push new people

- He's a better wrestler than the other great big hope, Cena

- His gimmick doesnt have a short lifespan either

- he looks like a pro wrestler, unlike say, Paul London

- VKM wants to push him, and frankly, thats good ebough fo me

Hmm......where to start.

-for the last god damn time. When we say we want new people pushed we mean good new people. People that can actually get above ** on a consistent basis.

-not really. Cena entertains me in the ring....Orton bores me. Plus Cena is overall more entertaining.

-Sooner rather than later he'll run out of legends and he won't be a newcome anymore either....so the gimmick does have a short lifespan.

-Paul London looks like a cruiserweight pro wrestler to me. Plus I actually want to see Paul London wrestle.

-So if VKM told you to kill your mother you'd do it?

That's what you want, it may not be what he wants, and it's not what I want. Not that I don't want good new people, but honestly I don't give a shit who it is.

Why I like Orton:

-Originally, charisma, which I think he has. I'm not sure what the general concensus on that is around here, but I think so.

-After that, I'm already on his side. So when he fucks up, I find it humorous, but in a "That's our Randy!" kinda way, it doesn't make me resent him, and when he's good, that's icing on the cake.

-Much as it's been said, he is improving, plus he's getting the push whether we like it or not. So that tells me that I will not be a fan of his in vain. He'll go places eventually.

-After seeing how much he's hated on here, it made me somewhat defensive of my Orton fan status.

When did I ever say I wanted you banned? I swear, you just make stuff up as you go along.

Oh just bog off. Serves me right for attempting to speak logic with a Teddy Anus fan.

So Paul London/Kidman vs Bashams was a ***** Classic then ?

Cena...entertaining???? Like when he pumps up his sneakers (sneakers, for chrissake) before he comes off the top?

Also, I don't buy the whole Legend Killer thing, Orton's an asshole, thats his gimmick, and it works.

Paul London looks like a cruiserweight pro wrestler to me. Plus I actually want to see Paul London wrestle.

Well, I hate cruiserweights to begin with, so thats a BIG PLUS.

Okay then, Orton looks THREATNING in the ring, and realistic as a wrestler.

So if VKM told you to kill your mother you'd do it?

What I meant was, I've been watching WWE sonce I was seven, and I've been pretty happy with what VKM has thrown at me, and I'm not gonna stop now.

After seeing how much he's hated on here, it made me somewhat defensive of my Orton fan status.

Ditto. Pretty much the same way I despise London because half this board treats him like the Messiah

Actually in reality, Orton probably IS a cruiser.

The fuck? I DON'T LIKE TEDDY HART. I'M ONE OF HIS BIGGEST DETRACTORS, SEEING AS I WAS THE GUY HE PUNCHED. YOU BROUGHT HIM UP. THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?

Well, I have a cold, and I broke up with my girlfriend last week, so..... ah forget it, I thought you were the Teddy Anus defender on this board

You hate cruiserweights? Why?

I guess you must hate Benoit and Eddy too? Because, you know, they wrestled as cruiserweights for years...

I don't outright HATE them, but I don't see the point of them. Benoit and Eddy are great examples of this, btw. Both have had more success as heavies over the years, so what was the point of them being cruisers in the first place.

Thats why Johnathon Barner hates me - because I'd rather watch a Big Show comp tape (and I do have one) than watch Sonjay Dutt and AB Luke "wrestle"

I don't like Eddy though, but thats another rant

The differences between Cena and Orton are that Cena has been given an easy gimmick that fits him and is easier to get over. Orton's gimmick of being a legend killer/asshole is harder to pull off, but I think he's getting there.

In ring, they are the same: godawful.

Cena just has the privelege of working with SD guys who can actually work a half decent match. Orton doesn't have that same privelege. They both suck in the ring equally and were brought in way, way too early from OVW.

Nope.

I'm not a fan of the NJ Juniors in general, because its become largely MMA based, and frankly, it bores me to tears
