kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2004 Figures I had the show on in the other room while I was on the computer and didn't know about this moment until I clicked on Drudge. Although I did see Janet when she first came out and I thought to myself "Wow, she's dressed awfully conservative." Perhaps she's trying to take some of the public spotlight away from her brother. MTV probably has three "behind-the-scenes" "documentaries" ready to go by now. Interesting -- today is first day of Black History Month... Story. NEW YORK (AP) — CBS apologized on Sunday for an unexpectedly R-rated end to its Super Bowl halftime show, when singer Justin Timberlake tore off part of Janet Jackson's top, exposing her breast. "CBS deeply regrets the incident," spokeswoman LeslieAnne Wade said after the network received several calls about the show. The two singers were performing a flirtatious duet to end the halftime show, and at the song's finish, Timberlake reached across Jackson's leather gladiator outfit and pulled off the covering to her right breast. The network quickly cut away from the shot, and did not mention the incident on the air. Timberlake said he did not intend to expose Jackson's breast. "I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl," Timberlake said in a statement. "It was not intentional and is regrettable." Wade said CBS officials attended rehearsals of the halftime show all week, "and there was no indication any such thing would happen. The moment did not conform to CBS' broadcast standards and we would like to apologize to anyone who was offended." The Super Bowl halftime show, which also featured P. Diddy, Nelly and Kid Rock, was produced by MTV, CBS' corporate cousin in Viacom. "We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced halftime show," Joe Browne, NFL executive vice president, said. "They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the content of the show. "It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime." MTV issued a contrite statement, saying the incident was "unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional."

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2004 First of all.....wasn't that Halftime show supposed to be something for everyone? My household sure as hell didn't like any of the performances and judging from this nobody here was either. Second of all.......if she wasn't planning it then why the hell was she wearing a pasty? Third of all.......thank god MTV won't produce another halftime show. Fourth of all..........what about that streaker after halftime?

Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 2, 2004 If that was for everyone...why was it one Lip-Synching Female Pop Star...One Older Lip-Synching Rapper One Young Hip-Hop Lip-syncher and one lip synching "rocker"... How hard is it to look around...Find a decent band and tell them "All right guys, here's the idea...We'll have a little stage...Go up there and play a couple good songs and we'll throw in some Pyro at the end"... U2 showed that a simple rock show beats overproduced shit like tonight's... AC/DC really should do the Jacksonville show and KISS seems like a fucking natural for Detroit... Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 2, 2004 don't worry MTV will show it countless times... Here's something I'm told...Apprently CBS doesn't have another SB for like 5 seasons...so maybe MTV wanted to something for people to remember (as opposed to an actual good show)... Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 2, 2004 Who in there right fucking mind would even listen to fucking Bon Jovi? They can stick to doing Pre-Pre Game Shows... AC/DC and KISS are two NATURAL and PERFECT Halftime performers and yet the Halftime organizers keep missing the boat and try to cram a billion "BIG" names into one 20 minute block 2004-Janet, JT, Kid, Nelly, Diddy 2003-Shania, No Doubt, Sting 2002-U2 (and people still talk about this one in a good light) 2001-Nsync, Aerosmith, Nelly, Missy Elliott,Britney 2000-Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Toni Braxton 1999-Stevie Wonder/Gloria Estefan/Big Bad Voodoo Daddy/tap dancer Savion Glover 1998-Boyz II Men/Smokey Robinson/Martha Reves/Temptations/Queen Latifah 1997-Blues Brothers-Dan Akroyd, John Goodman, James Belushi/ZZ Top/James Brown

Here's something I'm told...Apprently CBS doesn't have another SB for like 5 seasons...so maybe MTV wanted to something for people to remember (as opposed to an actual good show)... CBS should have Super Bowl XLI in New Orleans.. XXXIX - Fox XL - ABC As far as whether it was intentional or not, Drudge has an article linked from MTV.com that promised that there would be a "Shocking moment". More specifically: "What will Janet Jackson be doing at the halftime show?" So this was obviously planned.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2004 Im really liking the AC/DC idea...just them...3/4 songs...Thunderstruck, something new, Shook Me All Nite Long...maybe another one in there like For Those About to Rock...be a good show, Im really suprised they havent played it yet. TSA09 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2004 Janet's a freak, everyone knows that. I wasn't shocked she did it, hell I'm surprised she didn't do more. I'm sure she had her belly chain on and was able to tug it somehow.

That's the reason I'd said KISS and AC/DC...They have classic songs almost everyone knows and you know they can rock 70000 people... Highway to Hell would be a Great Superbowl Song and everyone and their mother knows that song...then throw in Shook me all night long but I'd open with the intro to Hells Bells and lead into H2H. The stupid thing was they didn't make it look like a fucking accident...It was CLEAR justin just ripped it for the purpose of exposing it. They should have been clever. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2004 My guess is that: A) CBS will get a fine from the FCC, proabably a large one. B) Timberlake and Janet will never be on CBS (as in, I bet they will not be allowed to perform on the Grammy's, at least on air, like they are scheduled to do next Sunday..) C) CBS probably won't let MTV do the halftime shows for their coverage of the Super Bowl any more.
