EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Marvel & Pixar To Work Together? Animated movies based on Marvel comic heroes? Marvel and Pixar Animation have met recently regarding the possibility of developing animated films based on the Marvel characters. It was recently announced that Pixar will end their relationship with Disney following the release of their next two animated features. Marvel vice chairman Peter Cuneo said: "Pixar has an incredible record. We're seven for seven right now. As long as we continue to make good films, we'll be successful. It has nothing to do with the genre wearing out." Marvel's goal is to develop 15 "James Bond type" film franchises. Credit: Hollywood Reporter
Guest Goodear Report post Posted February 4, 2004 *** Marvel's goal is to develop 15 "James Bond type" film franchises. *** 15... they do realize that Bond has pumped out like 20 movies by now and no other serialized movie franchise has gone that far? Nothing like shooting for the top.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Oooh...this is an exciting venture. I'd love to see theatrically released Comic based animated features. But I don't know what to make of the Bond line.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Marvel's goal is to develop 15 "James Bond type" film franchises. HA. So how low on the Superhero comic book totem poll will they have to go to get that many? I wonder if there'll be another "Howard the Duck" movie ?
razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Forget Howard the Duck its about time for another Heavy Metal movie.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Shut your fool mouths about Howard The Duck...the movie ruled Besides they wouldn't have to go far down the totem pole to get 15 movies. When they refer to James Bond I'm assuming they're talking about using one character or group. So it wouldn't be 15 movies based on 15 different comics, but on one comic series. It could work if they pick an interesting character with interesting stories.
EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 I'd loved to see a series based on Deadpool or maybe a different X-team like the Peter David verison of X-Factor (You know Havok, Strong Guy, etc)
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Marvel has done so many live-action movies that picking from what is left to go animated leaves ....like... The Fantastic Four or Iron Man (i'd watch both...I mark for Iron Man)
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Actually, the Fantastic Four as a CGI cartoon isn't that bad of an idea. Well, it'd be better then a live-action version, at least, because it'd be so much easier to pull off everyone's powers in a believable way.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Silver Surfer would be an excellent choice for Pixar.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 I have a wild question What happens to that movie that Pixar made recently for Disney? Umm, "The Incredibles"? Is that thing still going to be released or is it lost in hell now?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Disney probably still retains the rights to it.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Pixar and Disney still have two movies remaining on their deal. The Incredibles is one of them.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 For some reason I think Disney will work it out with Pixar. Just a hunch and I could be wrong but I think they will modify their offer.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 4, 2004 But now Pixar is in the free market. Disney will have to fight alot harder and will have to put up alot more money than they were offering. Some studio out there will fight them to the end over it. Pixar could also be looking for a studio that will be more of a silent partner, than Disney was. You know partners in business, but they let Pixar do their thing.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 A Captian American CGI movie series could work, then spinoff to the Avengers, US Agent and other characters. If Warner Brothers works with Pixar they could Marvel vs DC movies.

Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted February 5, 2004 How long until "Finding Logan", "A Hulk's life", etc. hits theatres? Seriously though, this could work........... cgi could make a more convincing superhero than Afleck ( On with the Eric Bana jokes........ you cynical bastards! ) Andy Serkis would be awesome in one of these movies

The live action FF was ttoal and utter ass... ... and highly, unintentionally amusing.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2004 While this "Bond line" doesn't interest me a whole lot, the thought of Pixar doing films based directly off of Marvel comics is an awesome idea! And I'm happy to hear that Pixar is breaking free from Disney.
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2004 I second the Iron Man and Silver Surfer motions. Those characters would absolutely RULE on a Pixar-made movie.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 Silver Surfer is most definitely perfect for Pixar because you can do characters like Galactus and Thanos with little difficulty, and the epic size of the setting is no problem either. I wouldn't mind seeing X-Men done as an animation because characters like Apocalypse would work better in that medium.
