Maybe I'll get my first official warning (OMG) but I thought those three were appointed to clean up the WWE Folder, not Sass all of a sudden coming in. He'd be fine if he didn't act so bossy. If he keeps it up, the WWE Folder will end up in worse shape. Already two people who didn't do anything wrong have gotten their "first warning". Downhome suggested that in a thread that had useful links, there shouldn't be biased comments because outbursts like that is what the mods are trying to stop. Then Sass comes in, warns Downhome for disrupting the peace, and then warns Krazy Karter for explaining Downhome's post. While Downhome should have posted it in Site Feedback, there was no reason for the 1wrestling hate or for Sass coming in and making a huge situation out of a suggestion. I don't think it'd be wise for there to be three moderators to restructure the forum then having an outside one come in and act like a bully. It did nothing but create a situation out of nothing.

Not to sound like the normal doomsayer, but the WWE Folder can't really get much worse. Really, if there's anyone I'd think could clean it up, it'd be Sass.

It actually can. If you start acting like a general in there for MINOR reasons then why are people going to like going there. If Downhome was going around and saying that everyone and Randy Orton sucks then yeah...someone should warn him. He just said that it was counterproductive to include something like what they're trying to get rid of. Sass said that he wouldn't stand for a battle or a contest and that he should PM a mod. Downhome didn't go in there and start verbally attacking Loss. He just said that it was counterproductive. PM'ing a mod will probably do crap. Sure, post your complaint in Site Feedback if you're instructed to, but there should be no "SILENCE INFIDELS"-like treatment.

I kind of agree on that last point. Mods shouldn't have the last say in an argument just because they're mods. A disagreement with a mod should be like a disagreement with any other poster and you shouldn't have to worry about the person you're arguing with holding the fact that they can warn/ban you over your head.

I really don't see what the big deal is. All I was trying to say (and it was obvious to just about everyone other than Sass apparently), is that I didn't think it was cool for a mod to go spouting off lines calling sites a "bastard stepchild" and the such, when I thought the entire idea about the mods and the such was to end such remarks, etc...

 

But apparently I'm some sort of troublemaker or something.

I was pushing it because I simply wanted them to explain why it was ok for them to use such mindless comments in a thread started by a mod, when the entire idea here lately is to curve stuff like that in the WWE folder.

 

Besides, everyone who knows me know that I don't want any trouble, and most of what I say is sarcastic when it does sound in the least bit off base from my character.

 

As for KK, well, I guess that we are never allowed to post anything off topic ever again. Is that a fair assumption?

This could have all been prevented had whatever issue with Loss' wording been taken up personally with the man himself. Did he rag on 1Bob? A little, sure, but no worse than anyone else has, and in no way that's out of line. Just because he's a forum mod doesn't mean he's unable to speak his mind, and he shouldn't be called onto the carpet when he does. He can post like he always has, and should feel free to. We're not trying to curb editorialzing in the WWE folder; if you have an opinion, state it. Loss, CC, and Goodear are the forum mods. Any global mod or admin can assist them in moderating the folder, and Sass has volunteered to be the pointman for those efforts.

What we're trying to cut back on is 100 threads for the same thing, every thread devolving into "OMG Wrestler X is teh sux0rz!!!!", and one-line few-word posts that don't contribute anything of value.

I understand that, it just came across to me as odd seeing a mod say what he said in that thread he started, as I thought that sort of stuff was what you wanted to put an end to. If it isn't, then I'm sorry and just "fuck it".

 

As for the point that you want to end one word posts, etc... does that include the OaO thread where peopel go "ROCKYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" when say, Rocky walks out, etc...?

 

I'd also like to say that I have nothing at all against any of the three new mods of the WWE folder. I can't say that about other people though.

Calling the site a "bastard step-child" is an opinion. If you're going to put something next to the site explaining what its about give a brief description and leave the opinions out of it since everybody is more than able to form their own opinion on the site after using it a few times. I don't believe any site has a 100% accuracy background so they should all be taken with a grain of salt as DownHome said.

 

Also I agree that you should be able to at least argue with Mods so long as there aren't purposely hurtful insults flying in their direction(and I would hope they wouldn't throw the same kind of insults at others since they're Mods) without getting a warning for their posting privaleges to be suspended.

 

I'm not kissing ass here, I'm just stating how I feel. That being said I still think Dames is the best forum leader I have come across...however it appears that some of his decisions on who to make Mods has now become questionable. I will not mention names to cause further troubles, but a few do act as if its their way or the highway when its not even their site.

Well thank you for clearing that up. I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to post anymore. You know that I always back up what I say, and I never say anything for the purpose of pissing people off.

There has been a gross error in understanding here and that's my fault.

 

People can voice their opinions about me or any of the other mods. We are not going to ban you for calling us "bossy" or for telling someone to "lay off." I did not handle things with Downhome or Krazy Karter in the proper fashion and I apologize for publically berating them when I should have PM'ed them and told them to take their issues to Feedback.

 

This is the site's Feedback folder. If anyone has an issue with what a mod does or says then *please* take the issue here, not in another thread where people are having a discussion. We will be more than happy to address any grievances you have with us in here and none of you will have to worry about paying some kind of consequence for speaking out against us.

 

I was in the wrong for the way I handled myself in our AIM conversation DH and for that I am truly sorry. That was not one of my proudest moments and if I made you or anyone else feel as if they had to keep quiet about taking issues with a mod then I'm sorry for giving off that perception.

As for the "bastard stepchild" description, yeah, I bashed a site, but all I was trying to do was provide insight to go with the more established links.

 

Please understand that none of us, including me or any of the other mods, are discouraged from sharing an opinion. That's what we want more of in that folder -- more discussion, more opinion, more educated debate, more perspective. No one should feel stifled at all.

I would like to recommend that become standard procedure whenever a mod changes the content of a member's post. Same with thread and post deletion.
