There's your storyline.

What's the deal with this? Is it a photoshop job or real or what?

Superman and Batman aren't really remakes. They are new movies based on the same material that another movie has been based upon. This is also why Charlie and The Chocolete Factory shouldn't be considered a remake of Willy Wonka and The Chocolete Factory.

I surely hope people weren't considering Batman '89 to be a remake of Batman '68

I'd assume it's real. If it was Photoshopped, it's the greatest photoshopped picture in existance.

Of course Johnny Depp will give a good performance, but that doesn't mean he'll be a good Lex Luthor.

Well, I'd rather have Depp be in Superman than Beyonce.

Plus, I really like Depp.

I've been a Depp fan for a long time, but he just doesn't have a strong enough presense to pull off a good Lex Luthor. Johnny's style just doesn't really fit in with Luthor's.

In no way would I complain about Depp being cast, but I just think there's someone that would make a better Lex Luthor. I'd love to see Depp shave his head and adopt a serious bad ass evil persona and totally do Luthor justice, but I just don't know.

Courtney Cox resembles the typical Lois Lane character model...could she play the part good though is the question. Of course she could act a million times better than Beyonce without question.

Not to send anyone here over the edge after this news, but according to the Enquierer, Ashton fucking Kutcher is being considered to play Superman.

Despite the fact that people think just because it's a tabloid it's automatically filled with nothing but lies, the Enquirer is usually very right on with their news.

The cover is real. I've read the story in question. I believe it's in the "Superman in the Seventies" TPB.

As for Depp, I think he'd be a much better Joker than Luthor.

Did you think Norton could pull off a bad ass in American History X?

I have faith in Depp that he can do it; even though he probably won't take the role. Just because Pirates did so well it doesn't mean he will do any mainstream movie that comes his way. I still think he will do whatever pleases him.

Yeah I wonder who could play a great Lex Luthor? It's not like that's a great actor playing him on a TV SHOW. Or someone that could play a great Superman on a TV SHOW.

Anyways, besides the bad casting if this movie makes it to the big screen I have feeling it will bomb because alot of people will watch it and say "Why didn't they just use the cast from Smallville. These guys suck."

this wouldn't be such a bad idea...if the bitch could ACT!!!! you completely sucked shit in that Austin Powers movie...and she's gonna fuck up another flick...yeah, i know, she's the current "It Girl" and christ forbid we go 20 minutes without seeing her face or hearing her name, but this blows...doesn't matter, not like i was gonna see it anyway...Superman's a homo.

Ashton Kutcher as Superman is an old rumor and we would've heard more about it if they were seriously considering him.

Ed Norton is a more traditional actor and he just becomes whatever role he is playing. Johnny Depp has his own unique style that follows him in most of his roles. His quirky weirdo style that is seen in most of his work just doesn't translate well into bad ass roles. This discussion is likely a moot point. If they are seriously looking at half assed actors like Beyonce, Depp probably won't be too thrilled to take the role.

I'd stopped a tape that I was watching to get a snack, and when I came back I heard about this on some stupid show that focuses entirely on stupid Hollywood crap and personal lives of actors/actresses, like E! or Extra or something like that. Beyonce herself was commenting on it (and yes, she wanted people to pray that she gets the role. Self-centered, isn't she?).

Funny thing is, when they were talking about it, they showed clips from...the last Superman movie. Yep, not the great original Christopher Reeves movie or the "cheesy but ok" Superman II. The cheap-o, ultra-bomb, shitacular, pantywaist propaganda piece Golan Globus turdburglar that Reeves helped write. Oh man...this one might be worse. I doubt the plot and script could be any worse, but it seems they'll completely lack the cast to squeeze any lemonade out of this, save for maybe Depp.

I also didn't think Depp would be too suited for the Luthor role. But if you recall Hackman played it mostly as a con man goof more than an evil bastard.

I won't come down on them for having Halle Berry be Catwoman, because at least there has been a black Catwoman in some incarnation (Eartha Kitt in the 60s). But Lois Lane? She's ALWAYS been white.

The Kingpin being black doesn't actively add or detract from the film. The dude is still a crime boss, he's still huge, etc.

If we can have a black Lois Lane, I want a white Shaft damnit. A white Shaft starring Will Ferrell at that.

If it's a Lois Lane played by Beyonce, it should be an equal actor to her talents as white Shaft.

Keanu Reeves!!

I know...and that's what I don't want again.

This movie is shaping up to be a total disaster, so I'm not too concerned by who they cast. I just hope Depp has enough sense to steer clear of this mess. Now that he's finally being widely appreciated, a disaster film is the last thing he needs.

Will Ferell.. can you dig it?

Couldn't be any worse than Samual L. Jackson.

Don't worry about Beyonce, either. Sure it seems kind of awkward at first, but as the movie progresses Beyonce is sure to win us over with her portrayl of a white, late twenties journalist by a black, early twenties singer with limited acting experience... ah, who am I kidding? Beyonce barely got by being eye candy in Austin Powers 3! She's a great singer, and probably a nice person, but one of the main roles in a blockbuster film?

At least when they announced Halle Berry as the Catwoman, you could say Eartha Kitt once played the role.

What the hell are Smallville fans gonna think? Hell, they'll be too busy thinking "I thought her name was Lana" to even notice she's black all of a sudden.

No they're going to be to busy thinking "Why didn't they use the Smallville cast for the movie." Besides most Smallville fans know that Lana Lang and Lois Lane are two different people.

I don't think Beyonce is considered for the role because she is black, I think it more has to do with her being the current flavor of the month, and she is going to get anything and everything that comes her way. As long as her 15mins goes by before they actually start shooting the film, then we should be A-OK.

So, are they still going with the craptacular story about the suit giving him powers? The one where Lex was going to be an alien and whatknot? Because if so, they can cast whomever they want. The Superman fans will take a big collective dump on every reel the company produces and then burn them in a backlot somewhere. And if that was a spoiler for anyone, consider yourself lucky. Go read a Superman comic for something that's actually worth your money with the character.

Ugh.

I think I'll go see BATMAN with it's inherent awesomeness twice for every time I'd have seen Superman.
