Disheartening news about Eddie Guerrero

Recommended Posts

I have a friend of mine that went to the Smackdown house show in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, that related to me some shocking and disheartening news on how he was treated by Eddie Guerrero. After the show was over, my friend spotted Eddie and asked him if he could sign something for his cousin, whom is a huge fan of his. Eddie just ignored him so my friend tried to get his attention again thinking Eddie didn't hear him, and Eddie totally exploded on him, saying, "Get the fuck away from me, asshole." My friend said he just gave him a funny look and shook his head as Eddie power-walked off.

If this news about Eddie's attitude is true, then I'm very disappointed in his behavior, especially from one that claims to be a full-fledged Christian in his real life. It's one thing to say no to a fan or to be having a bad night, but it's another to use such obscene language to a fan innocently asking for an autograph.

Eds getting drunk again

I'm afraid it sounds like Eddie's starting to go back into Scott Hall/Jake Roberts mode again, unfortunately, if he really did verbally explode on the fan.

Fan stories are hardly ever accurate. We're hearing one side of the story, this guy could've totally been an ass and been pesturing Eddie forever leading up to this.

I hope you're right about that and Eddie isn't fucking up the biggest opportunity in his career to be WWE Champion (even though it might be a fluke reign knowing WWE).

Although S__D might have been telling the truth, so we'll just have to keep an eye out on Eddie's future behavior.

Isnt that exactly what happend with Roberts & Hall, though? Their careers began to skyrocket and then, suddenly, their alcohol/drug/whatever abuse became so overwhelming that it brought their careers, and dreams of super-ultra-mega stardom, to a schreeching hault?

History. Repeating.

What I really don't get is considering that Eddie's close friend in AAA, Art Barr, died from drinking and drugs in his sleep back in 1993 or 1994 (while sleeping with his son, I might add), is there any reason why Eddie never learned from his friend's mistakes other than his career path is on the Scott Hall/Jake Roberts road again, possibly?

I doubt it even happen, no one else has even reported it yet. If it did happen, sorry for your cousin or friend.

I find it pretty sad that most of who have posted in this thread, have already assumed the worst of Eddie Guerrero. I'd personally give him the benfit of the doubt first.

some advice on life caboose...

'your reputation precedes you'

hes been in much trouble for drinking probs, etc, in the past. it will continue to haunt him when things like this come up. im not saying its right, or that this is all accuarate news, but this how shit goes sometimes.

I'm in agreement with caboose here. Talk about jumping to conclusions. We go from Eddie blowing off your friend to 'everyone' saying it's a telltale sign of going back to old habits.

Like Mad Dog said, your friend possibly isn't telling the whole story. Eddie could've been swamped with autograph hounds pestering him and thought your friend was among them, doing the same; whether he was or not, as in a case of mistaken identity. Celebrity or regular Joe, Christian or not, everyone has a bad day and everyone lashes out sometime in the same way Eddie apparently has here.

And yes, the classic 'Eddie was a bad guy in the past, so let's have him guilty until proven innocent.' This is ONE account of Eddie regarding this incident, and aside from his going after the fan within reason in 2002 (2003?), there hasn't been a story of misbehavior about Eddie since 2001.

Wasn't his blowing up at a fan in 2002-(3) because the fan threw a beer at him? I believe something like that happened in Winnipeg...

Then again, everyone goes through stressful times, and everyone is human, you cannot tell me you've never blew up at someone that didn't nesseciarally deserve it, based on tiredness, anger, stress, or any combonation...

and if you got some mark screaming in your ear from probably 10 feet away... it's bound to get to you

Fan: *Screaming* Eddie, EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE...

Eddie: Hold On

Fan *Pauses for a nanosecond* EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE

Eddie: FUCK OFF

everyone should be allowed to blow up once in a blue moon without his fucking fans completely destroying him verbally. And if anything, him blowing up at a fan would show that he wasn't drunk, or that he's still on the horse, as if he were drunk, he'd probably be in 'happy' mode

Thank you for the advice Snuff, I'll file with the other stupidly obvious statements a person can make.

As for Eddie, yeah everyone knows about what he's been through, but why are you all assuming the worst? Considering how much this board worships Eddie's ability, and rightly so, why when a second hand story about something that may or may not have happened, do we compare him to Jake Roberts and Scott Hall. It's almost like you guys want him to fuck up, so we have ourselves another tragic story of a talented wrestler who blew it away.

The cynicism on this board and in general of the IWC is ridiculous at times. Until I read anything concrete on this, I'm not going to hold Eddie in any less a good light. And even if it is true, it doesnt neccessarily mean the end of Eddie Guerrero.

Call me naive or ignorant, frankly I don't care, as fans of Latino Heat we should give him the benefit of the doubt.

Careful now, I'm not condeming Eddie, I'm just saying that if anybody is going to snap and go psycho, it's more likely to be someone who's, you know, had a past heavy drug problem like he did.

Innocent till proven guilty, I'm with you caboose.

What the fuck does blowing up at a fan have to do with relapsing!?

This is some really retarded logic, I hate to break it to you, but recovering alcoholics, sometimes they get angry or mad, and it actually doesn't mean there drinking again. Believe it or not, it's actually a natural human emotion.

Then again this story hasn't even been confirmed as true in anyway, so if your already jumping to one conclusion you might as well jump to the rest right....

::jumps to conclusions::

Eddie doesn't deserve ANY title, especially after this blow-up.

Responding angrily to a fan, who most likely latched his nuts onto Eddie's leg until he was forced to back off?

Absolutely vile, disgusting behavior by Guerrero.

<_<

Maybe it's not his past drinking problems, but just his overall attitude. If he can't take a couple of annoying fans and feels he needs to vent on innocent people, he shouldn't have even entered the WWE.

Maybe it was what the kid wanted Eddie to sign that made him mad, like maybe his sign that read,"Eddie Mows My Lawn."

This is one whole thread of suck, and you and snuffbox are the worst of the lot. You're saying that Eddie shouldn't be a wrestler because he doesn't like being annoyed? Pathetic. Here's a hint: Don't annoy people you don't know.

As Ghettoman said: We don't know the full facts. We don't know what was said out of this friend's earshot. We don't know if Eddie's mom died yesterday.

You're jumping on Eddie unfairly, and way too quickly.

Unless Eddie starts doing this sort of thing on a regular basis, I can't see anyone in the WWE caring too much.

Saying 'get the fuck away from me, asshole' to a fan is mean, but that's all. It certainly doesn't sound like a tell-tale sign he's back on the bottle.
