JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 What do you think is WCW's best overall show from Bash at the Beach 94, where Hogan debuted, to Great American Bash 96, the PPV before the debut of the nWo? I know they ran some stupid angles back then...but there have to be SOME good shows, right?

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 Starrcade 95 Oh yeah, I've seen that show! No Hogan + Ohtani = Good show.
JHawk 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 Gotta go with Starrcade 95. As far as the best show that actually had Hogan on the card, Fall Brawl 95. Pillman-Badd + Flair-Anderson = one hour of greatness.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I didn't follow WCW then, so can someone help me out... If Hogan was brought in as the centerpiece of the company, what was he doing that led to him not being on Starrcade 95, their biggest show of the year? Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I think I would have to agree with most of the people here and say Starrcade 95. Best PPV effort of that year IMO. 95 was a HORRIBLE year for the big 2.

If you remember Hulk would miss a lot of shows then show up again until the nWo angle kicked off, that's when he started appearing on Nitro almost every week. Oddly enough, I believe a majority of the shows Hulk missed during his WCW days ended up being good, Starrcade '95 & Souled Out '98 being the two best examples. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted February 10, 2004 I thought Hogan was selling a neck injury....or a mustache injury lol....and for god sake, no one ask about the mustache. WCW sucked in 1995, but Fall Brawl was the best of the year that I saw. I went cold turkey the night after Halloween Havoc until the nWo angle. Uncensored = horrible Superbrawl = not bad, but nothing at all memorable except for Roma. BATB = don't remember, must've been bad though.
Guest Frank_Nabbit Report post Posted February 10, 2004 I have a soft spot for the COTC that happened shortly after Hogan Debueted If i remember correctly it was Patriot/Bagwell vs Roma/Paul O - Unoffensive but unspectacular tag match that occured before I tired of Roma/Bagwell Johnny B Badd vs Honky Tonk Man - Campy Goodness with Honky's video Dustin/Dusty vs Buck/Funk - Dusty and Funk are enough for me to mark out Steamboat vs Austin - Great match - Love both guys Hogan vs Flair - Decent Match + I love Hogan and Flair I have absolutely no problem with any of those matches
Tony149 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2004 I thought Hogan was selling a neck injury....or a mustache injury lol....and for god sake, no one ask about the mustache. It couldn't have been either. The neck injury happened at Fall Brawl, the muctache angle was before WW3 and Hogan wrestled at that PPV (last guy with Savage). So it had to be him off doing what he calls a 'movie.' But Hogan was probably working on Thunder in Paradise 12.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 OK, I'll take the bait and ask... What is the deal with Hogan's mustache?
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2004 The Dungeon of Doom attacked Hogan, and as a sign of disrespect, shaved off his mustache. Tony Shivanoe acted like it was the end of the world, since shaving off Hogan's mustache, which he had for about 10+ years was a very big deal, atleast to him. Hogan even did an interview in which he proclaimed, in a serious tone, "THE STASH IS COMING BACK, BROTHER!!!"

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted February 12, 2004 I told everyone not to ask. I reall did think about the good of the people not needing to be exposed to something that vile and stupid.
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2004 Didn't Hogan compete at World War III without the mustache? I remember watching highlights from that show and thinking "Hey! Where did Hogan's mustache go?" Seriously, how could WCW think THAT was a good idea. Hogan could just grow the mustache back in a few weeks, no big deal. I'm sure even a 4 year old thought it was stupid. I also like to point out that Hogan actually shaved his mustache several times during the nWo years, and just kept the 5 O' Clock shadow. Tony Schivanoe didn't groan and act like it was the end of the world when Hogan shaved it off during the nWo years, by the way.

I wonder who came up with that angle. It had to be either Kevin Sullivan or Hulk himself. I do believe it was for a movie so it makes sense that way, even if it was a shitty angle. Hogan was heel, that's why Tony didn't care then.
