O'Reilly turns on Bush!?

Recommended Posts

These labels are garbage. The only ones that matter are party affiliation, everything else is pure bullshit. I have my beliefs it doesn't matter if you call me a moderate, right leaning moderate, left leaning moderate, a facist, a socialist, or a fucking bannana.

I've been trying to think of term for someone who is "issue-by-issue".

"Intelligent" keeps springing to mind.

thatd be a good word for it

While the world would be better without labels such as "liberal" and "conservative"; the fact is we're stuck with them and they aren't going away anytime soon.

Wow...O Reilly held to his word about apologizing if we found out Bush was wrong. Honestly, though I disagree with about 75% of Bill's opinions, Ive always found him to be a man of integrity so Im not shocked that hes doing this. Im sure the right will lambaste him for not defending Bush even in light of the obvious, but I doubt that will bother him. He might be a stubborn, antagonizing, and (imo) wrong man but Ive always seen him as someone capable of realizing the faults even in the people he supports. I really wish all partisan people could do that, Dem, Rep, or whatever.

Wow, the left praising O'Reilly?

Gee, how much longer until he's viewed as being a "straight shooter", rather than the egomaniacal blowhard he's been viewed as for the last few years.

Amazing how much criticizing Bush can erase one's image in the eyes of some.

He's still an arrogant asshole to me.

No change in opinion here.

im not a liberal ;)

Sure you aren't ;)

And yes Mike, when O'reilly defends the administration he's a conservative boorish puppet blowhard, and when he criticizes the administration he's a straight shooting independent that speaks from his mind. I'm glad you've figured that out...

No, he's ALWAYS a blowhard puppet.

I could care less whether or not he likes Bush.

Stuff like this is what makes me think more and more that George W. Bush is the Bill Clinton of the Republican Party. And I'm not saying that's a bad thing, or a good one either. Just an observation.

He, unfortunately, does do some things Clinton did. I do feel he's more honorable and honest --- but he is DEFINITELY trying to do the traingulation thing that Clinton did.

His biggest plus is an actual larger vision than what benefits him. Clinton lacked that after the health care debacle.

What the fuck duder? Where can it be infered that I am a liberal? As stated a million times - I am a libertarian(not capitalized as I am not presently affiliated with the party of the same name). As posted many times I am socially liberal and very fiscally/governmentally conservative. Libertarian...grab hold of the word guy, say it over til you figure it out. I know Ann Coulter couldnt comprehend this one...I hope I can expect a lil better out of you though.

However, nothing changes the fact that he's a big, blubbering vagina.

Excellent page, although calling O'Reilly a vagina is an undeserved disservice to vaginas.

True. The vagina is good for a few things besides a laugh. I'm not sure Bill is.

Vagina is good for so many things...making me drool, swoon, scream, spend money, say anything, do anything go anywhere...it truly is the lifeblood of all existence.

Bill O Reilly....hmmm...well, at least hes put some heat on Jesse Jackson so he has done one thing of meaning.

My best friend is a Libertarian, member of the party and everything. Every political conversation we have I get a huge does of the laiser faire philosophy. From what I've read from you, you seem to be on the liberal side of the Libertarian spectrum (then again you admit you have no affiliation to the party, so I guess you're an independent and can choose to define yourself anyway you see fit...).

So, you're fervently pro-vagina --- but somewhat anti-Bush?

Doesn't fit, does it? :)

Yes, I will agree with you that I am more 'liberal libertarian' than 'laissez-faire libertarian'. I do feel that there should be some government in our country and it should have some power over businesses. In my ideal world, it would be laissez faire...but I am wise enough to realize that at this point that couldnt possibly work out well in the US.

I label my self libertarian due to my closeness to so many of the philosophies of the party...Constitution(I do in fact support the 2nd amendmant but am biased against it personally to to events in my own life), abortion rights, censorship(I am however against NAMBLA etc that are just wrong), drug laws, weakening govt powers, taxes, etc etc etc.

But you are right and I agree...Im more liberal than laissez-faire. Not ideally, but realistically.

Whether O'liely turns on Bush is irrelevant in my view... I still think he's a right wing stooge. I honestly think Bill is just criticizing Dubyah so that he can try and preserve his "independant" label. I see right through him because if you notice, he doesnt REALLY go after Bush... in the same light as say Jesse Jackson, and it's obvious that in the past he's been OBSESSED with bringing the guy down. If O'Liely attacked Bush with the same vigor he shows when he launches assaults on Jackson, the ACLU, or hollywood, THEN I would give the man credit for being fair and unbaised... but instead, he uses soft critical language like this "if we cant locate WMD, Mr. Bush should apologize to the American people, and they would forgive him" and then of course, he dedicates the rest of his program on bashing liberals with much harsher language for deeds that aren't NEARLY as serious as you know, lying to the American people to advance an agenda of war

My bias is showing? When have I ever denied having a bias?

For the most part. Yes. I won't hesitate to call John McCain or someone like him liberal or left leaning. Feel free to disagree, but what's the big idea if I do?

you've GOT to be kidding... and what do you base calling John McCain a liberal on?? The fact that he actually ISNT a party stooge?? The fact that he votes his conscience and actually wants REFORM in the entire political system? Maybe it's because he tries his best to negotiate and work with the opposing party on getting things done... there's a reason the man is one of the most respected politicians on capitol hill by BOTH parties, so calling him a liberal leaning moderate because he criticizes Dubyah instead of kiss his ass like most party neocons do is absurd

Bwuahahaha... someone believes the hype. McCain certainly isn't a liberal, but he isn't the savior of politics. Some people are WAY too easily fooled by PR hype. Not to say McCain isn't good, but he's pretty much a good Republican the way he votes. If you want true outriders, Lincoln Chaffee, Jim Jeffords, and Zell Miller are probably the people you want to look at, not McCain. For Christ's sake, the guy votes 76% of the time with his party!

I never claimed McCain is the savior of politics, nor am I buy into hype, I'm just stating that he's definitely not liberal, and that he isnt a conformist party puppet republican... nor am I calling him an independant. I admire McCain because he's not a neo-con and he isnt afraid to stand up to a president belonging to the same party. More than anything, he seems to vote his conscience, and whether I agree with him or not, I admire that because it seems to be uncommon nowdays
