Guest glennsoe Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Howdy ! Maybe a stupid question, but today i've seen 2 old ecw shows (Massacre on 34 street and Anarchy Rules 99) and it got me thinking; These are the guys i would like to see in the wwe and especialy IF wwe is serious about "bringing back ecw" again. To my knowledge none of these guys have been in the wwf or wwe before, i KNOW you'll correct me if i'm wrong, so here goes; ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For The Tag Team division; * Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger * Danny Dorring and Roadkill * Tony Mamaluke and Little Guido (Ditch the "nunzio name" and bring in Big Sal") ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For the cruiserweight division; * Nova * Mikey Whipwreck (he was at raw when ecw invaded) * Kid Kash (has wrestled several dark matches) * E Z Money (had a development contract last year) * Super Crazy ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ These are just from the top of my head, so i doubt you'll agree with me - so i suggest you put down which "ex ecw wrestler NEVER to have been in wwe" before that you'd like to see in the wwe some times... Guest BDC Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Screw Credible, I never did like him. Matter of fact, all the ECW people I did like are disqualified from this discussion. Oh well.
Guest Loss Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Nova has a developmental deal and is currently in OVW, so you may end up getting your wish there eventually. The "bringing back ECW" rumors have been going strong since 2001, much like the "Hogan's coming back to the WWF" rumors that started in 1994. I wouldn't put much stock in it. They brought ECW back once and quickly forgot about it; why would they do it again? Simon and Swinger could probably get over as a tag team and contribute to the product. Doring and Roadkill don't really fit the WWE style very well. They don't really have the look that WWE goes for nor do they actually look like a tag team. Mamaluke is a crazy little spot monkey that might get over, but with the company trying to curb highspots, he'd just be discouraged from wrestling all out, and probably get Velocity to showcase his talent in a best-case scenario. Whipwreck was a great character in ECW, but like Tommy Dreamer and Spike Dudley, I don't see him working outside of that environment at all. Again, he doesn't really have the superstar look and the writers wouldn't be nearly as familiar with his character as they'd need to be to make it work. Kash and Money would probably both get over very well in WWE, especially Money, who showed the fundamentals of how to work as a babyface better on the last WCW PPV than I've seen all but a few display since. Super Crazy would fit well on Smackdown, but again, he'd have to show that he could adapt to the company style, and if he couldn't, he'd be rather useless. The best option may be to just watch old ECW tapes to see these guys. Most of them wouldn't fit well in the current environment.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Simon/Swinger and EZ Money would be the only guys I'd have any interest in seeing brought in.

Not that I disagree with you, but the WWE has been pretty apathetic about teaming up guys that look like a tag team for a while now. (e.g. Flair & Batista, Cade & Jindrak, Storm & Morley, hell if it wasn't for their matching outfits you could put Team Angle in there)
haVoc 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Kid Kash wouldn't have a chance to get over. That asshole would bury himself.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 L4W, I actually heard Mamaluke has been just like the guy who trained him, Dean-O Machine-O, in recent years. By that I mean he's been taking it to the mat more often than not. Simon/Swinger have TNA contracts for another six months or so, I think. Besides, they wouldn't get used nearly as good as they are in TNA, and would probably have to take a paycut since they also work other indies. Doring sucks. He just does. He's the equivalent of what Kidman is now, minus the pretty awesome matches five years ago. Roadkill sucks as well, and is only over thanks to the gimmick. Mikey Whipwreck would NEVER get over anywhere besides indies. His gimmicks (either the "loser" or the over-the-top lunatic) only work in more personal environments, such as small venues, and not big arenas. EZ Money I could see making somewhat of an impact, but...the guy's ugly as sin. Seriously. Charismatic? Yes. Good worker? Yes. Knows how to get a crowd interested in a match? Yes. But he has a terrible look, and I've never heard him cut a promo. His appearance is what WWE wouldn't want. Kash also is signed to TNA for another six months or so. And I don't want him to leave TNA. He's one of the top heels there, whereas in WWE he'd be Velocity fodder.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Mikey Whipwreck...and my judgement isn't clouded by the fact that he's my favorite wrestler...really. I seriously think him and Tajiri could get over as a tag team if given a fair shot. Other then that I would say Simon Diamond
Vyce 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 I'd love to see Tajire & Whipwreck reunited.
EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 I only saw them a few times on ECW on TNN but, I liked the tag team of Danny Doring and Roadkill. I thought they were a good high flyer/power wrestler tag team combo and I always got kinda of Hart Foundation 2K vibe from them.

Yeah, fat guy, and thin guy, who use the Hart Attack move...that's about it for me. But I like Roadkill for the most part. I can't even picture him posing and saying "CHICKENS!" in my head without laughing

Yet again, the term "good" gets corrupted. -=Mike
Guest Krazy Karter Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Best part about Roadkill was when the crowd chanted "You fuck sheep!". He shrugged and nodded his head. Gold.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Despite him being active in both MLW & Zero-One, I wouldn't mind seeing Steve Corino weekly.
Guest Loss Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Corino could be a tremendous midcard heel, but in the past, Vince McMahon has shown disgust for all the scars on his forehead and he has past beef with Paul Heyman so I don't see him showing up.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Yeah, as long as Paul E has any kind of say so in anything WWE related, I doubt we'll ever see Corino there.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Masato Tanaka
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Masato Tanaka As long as they don't make him sterotypical like Tajiri and Funaki...and actually DO something with him, unlike Ultimo...I agree. I'd love to see a heel try to chair-shot him with the referee isn't looking...he wobbles a bit, then just beats the crap out of the person who did that to him.
Guest Loss Report post Posted February 17, 2004 If Tanaka comes in, he'd need to work a style closer to that he wrestled against Hayabusa in April of '98 than the reckless spotfests he had with Mike Awesome. Tanaka, at least in one match I've seen him in, had the talent to do that. I have no idea if he still does, nor do I know if he could get over without the chairs and danger spots. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 As much of a fan I was of ECW, I'd have to say no one. They would all be buried and eventually sent to OVW or released anyway. Now if the "ECW" rumors are true that is a different story, but before I even start to think about that we need to hear about some more concrete progress in it.
