Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 04. Minnesota Twins No chance. They still have Radke, Santana, and Lohse. They only lost A.J. Pierzynski from the starting lineup. The bullpen loses will hurt, but not enough to go from 1st to 4th.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted February 19, 2004 04. Minnesota Twins No chance. They still have Radke, Santana, and Lohse. They only lost A.J. Pierzynski from the starting lineup. The bullpen loses will hurt, but not enough to go from 1st to 4th. Maybe not 4th, maybe 3rd or even 2nd. That divison is too unpredictable. I believe the Indians have tons of talent in their young kids. Will it break out this year, or next? Who knows .. I'm counting on this year, but we'll see. Chicagos offense is still very good, and I dont expect Korn and Crede to put up bad numbers again. Their pitching is still ok, they match up with the Twins there. I may be doubting them too much putting them in 4th, but .. the Central is whacky.

Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 I have questions about the Royals starting pitching. Do they have any? Honestly I don't trust the White Sox. Too come through and beat out the other two teams. When push came to shove last year the Twins took care of business against Chicago. Houston vs Nw York. Sorry that just seems too perfect a matchup. We'll likely see one team come out of know where and make it.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 I think that Houston could honestly make it with their improved rotation and also they still have some solid hitters(Berkman, Biggio, Bagwell, Kent). I personally see the Sox making it but knowing what's happened in the past I'm not going to go out on a limb and proclaim it'll happen, esp. considering that we don't know what kind of moves the Yankees could make. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2004 Oh. Don't get me wrong. Houston can make it. My previous comment was more an observation. It never seems like we get the World Series alot of people think or want to see going into the season. New York with A-Rod vs Houston with Clemens and Pettite fits that to a tee. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 20, 2004 I think we can ALL agree, the perfect play off scenario would be Yankees-ChiSox BoSox-Angels Phillies-Cubbies Astros-Giants Yankees-BoSox Cubbies-Astros Yankees-Cubbies With, of course, the Yankees trampeling the three cursed teams along the way. I'll save that for July.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 20, 2004 AS, shutup already. No. Red Sox/Cubs is awful for baseball because one of them has to win Sure, there will be monster ratings for that Series, but the SECOND one of those teams wins, their appeal has been totally shot to shit and they are no longer any kind of a draw for major league baseball. Really, what's the hook for the Sox and Cubs once they win? Why should fans give a shit about them anymore? when they challenge in the play offs, what's the hook for fans outside of Boston and Chicago?
