Plus, he actually gets to see his kids for most of the year now. Yes, comparable, but less. Very good team, but not better than the team he left. Someone needs to reevaluate his reasons for playing the game. At some point your LIFE becomes more important than the GAME. At some point, you grow up. Winning it all with a 'lesser' team, and at home, to boot, could likely mean more to him once he's career's over and he looks back. Also, there's probably some fire inside of him hoping to stick it to the Yankees for not showing him the respect he thought he deserved (and I'm not talking about money here, but rather how he didn't feel like they cared about him after seeing the way they've pursued other free agents). The whole object of the game is to win championships. Why throw roadblocks along in your path? That being said, I don't think that the Astros are in any way a hindrance to Pettitte winning a championship anyway, so he picked a shitty challenge. The Ultimate sign of respect. He just had to realize that he was an investment to George, nothing more, nothing less, ad learn to ignore it. You should never put your feelings ahead of your career.
