Guest Mikey2Dope Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Dawn of the Dead (2004) (8/10) Super Troopers (7/10)
Youth N Asia Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I understand a 1-10 rating, even using the .5 system. But why a 7.4? With 1-10 you have 10 choices, with 1-10 with .5s you have 20...but do you really need 100 possible scores? Can you really tell a 5.0 from a 5.1
Red Baron Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Gone in 60 Seconds (remake) 7/10 (it loses a half of mark because of the damage of the Shelby 500 GT)
HarleyQuinn Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Batman - 7/10(Intro was fab. and I liked it for the most part though I easily could've gone without Joker playing the Prince music)

Like the rating really matters to people.

I give movies those type of scores because of the amount of movies I've seen. If I watch something, and say.. well it's not quite an 8 or 7.5, but it's better than a 7. Then I ask myself, how much better? Slightly? (7.1 or 2) or is it just below a 7.5? (7.3 or .4). Holds alot of significance when grading my movies.
ArkhamGlobe Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 I watched the following movies last night: The Silence - This was rather stunningly shot and constructed, I liked it a great deal. Persona - HOLY CRAP! Why have I not watched this before? This was excellent and has replaced Wild Strawberries as my favourite Ingmar Bergman movie. For a Few Dollars More - About 18000 different kinds of cool. One of those movies I can watch a thousand times and still enjoy.
Insane Bump Machine Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Kung Pow! Enter The Fist - ***1/2 I love kung-fu movies, and I love this movie. It's not a cinematic masterpiece or anything, but it's hilarious all the way through. The dubbing of his dog and the mole-chaku are my favorite parts. The Spy Who Loved Me - ***1/2 Good Bond film, even though I think that Moore isn't serious enough in some scenes (a common problem with his Bond). The music and Jaws are great stuff.
Ravenbomb Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 saw Passion of the Christ finally. The book was better
Guest Choken One Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Gone in 60 Seconds (remake) 7/10 (it loses a half of mark because of the damage of the Shelby 500 GT) you will be happy to know that it really wasn't a Shelby 500 gt...It was a standard Mustang with a mock body on it...
Youth N Asia Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Top Secret (1/10) Wha?! Skeet Surfin'! I love that movie.
Youth N Asia Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Dawn of the Dead 2004 10 out of 10, bitch!
BlackFlagg Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Lucky - I dunno to rate it other than saying it had to be one of the most funked up movies I have ever seen, heh
Guest OctoberBlood Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (A rare, 10/10) ... Brilliant.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 The Producers-9/10 Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder are both hilarious and they have great chemistry. One of my favorites.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Dawn of the Dead (Remake-2004) - (8.5/10) I was surprised how good this was. One of those rare remakes of horror films that surpass my expectations. Good gore mixed with some comedy. Great ride of a film.
Aero Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Watched them all on TV... The Punisher (1989 version)... 6/10 Speed... 9/10 What's the Worst That Can Happen?... 5/10
slimm44 Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Yesterday, Sunday, I watched My Boss's Daughter 3/10 and School Of Rock 9/10 The first twenty minutes of My Boss's Daughter were funny but the rest was one discrimantory joke after another. School of Rock made up for it
Insane Bump Machine Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Komm, süsser Tod (Come Sweet Death) - ***1/2 wow, same rating again. Funny Austrian crime comedy, some brilliant scenes but overall not as good as I expected. Hinterholz 8 and Indien were funnier.
Aero Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Who broadcasted The Punisher? It was on some movie channel with my Digital Cable box. FLIX, or Encore, or Action.
HarleyQuinn Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Jackie Brown(rented): 6/10, just wasn't feeling it for whatever reason although I was liking Bridget Fonda quite a bit.
ArkhamGlobe Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 More Ingmar Bergman movies for me today: Cries and Whispers - This was VERY good, would probably rank rather highly on my favourite Bergman movies list, if I felt like making one. Autumn Sonata - Eh. It was well acted and stuff, but to me it was a tad dull and it just felt like Bergman going through the motions. Fanny and Alexander - This was very good as well and would have been a very worthy end for his career had this really been his last film.
Youth N Asia Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 A Nightmare on Elm Street (8.5/10)...I don't enjoy it as much as I did when I was a teen, but it's still a fun movie that holds up with decient scares.
HarleyQuinn Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Re-Animator(8/10) - Damn fun, gory movie. Jeffrey Combs rules you all
