BlackFlagg Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Monty Python's Life of Brian - 9/10
Insane Bump Machine Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 One Missed Call Nice little horror movie by Miike Takashi, one of my favourite directors. The plot gets kind of confusing in the last minutes, though that's not exactly new in this genre. Some nice scares and creepy situations, but ultimately a bit too conventional, especially for Miike. ***1/2
Si82 Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Yesterday: Peter Pan (9/10) A really good adventure film with lots of style, humour and a great performance from Jason Isaacs as Captain Hook.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I thought that that movie would be a blockbuster. Instead, it tanked big time.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Cheaper By The Dozen (2003) - 6.5/10 City Of God (2003) - 10/10
BlackFlagg Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Monty Python's The Meaning of Life - 9/10
DCMaximo Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Romy And Michele's High School Reunion- 9/10 Pure guilty pleasure. The amount of times I've seen this film over the years, yet still loving it, is incredible.

BlackFlagg Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 Monty Python and the Holy Grail - 10/10

Guest Mikey2Dope Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 The Talented Mr. Ripley (8/10) Hopefully watch this week: Onibaba Ratcatcher The Drunken Angel The Seventh Seal God I love IFC. When are they playing Onibaba? They played it Halloween week and I taped it. It was also IFC Canada. The Seventh Seal (10/10)
The Mandarin Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Saving Private Ryan- I wouldn't know, because I missed it like a schmuck. It's Rememberance Day, of course it would be on. Hopefully I don't lose all my senses and forget to watch Christmas Vacation when CityTV does its yearly airing. EDIT: Caught the last hour, and from that, I can safely say Upham is a piece of shit. He pussied out when he could have saved two BRAVE men. He shot the German at the end, but that wasn't at the time it needed to be done. Great (INTENSE) ending battle from what I saw, though. God bless the vets.
Hank Kingsley Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Recently: True Romance! Oh man! 8/10 for great characters (Oldman, Walken, and Kilmer especially), a well-written script, and a great directing job by Tony Scott. Honestly, I'm relieved that Tarantino didn't direct this, because it would've been all over the place a la every other movie he's done. True Romance works much better in the linear fashion it's presented in. Plus, the main character has Elvis as a mentor/conscience. How awesome is that?
Si82 Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 The Terminator (9/10) One of the best sci-fi/action movies ever!
Insane Bump Machine Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 ***** Just amazing. I'll watch the remake soon, but it can't even come close.
Insane Bump Machine Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 ****1/2 Really good character development and an interesting murder plot. Great cinematography, too. And the music! **** After the mixed reviews I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Don't know if it's because of the new footage and edits in the Director's Cut, but I really don't get why this film flopped. Cool scenario, one-liners, badass characters and good fight scenes. What's not to like? As good as Pitch Black, maybe even better. ***1/2 Good link between Pitch Black and Chronicles, but way too short. Nice animation techniques. **** I'll have to watch it again, maybe I'll rate it higher then because it was a bit confusing in first viewing. Best mixture of CG and 2D animation I have ever seen, though.
Robert Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Today was a day off and I spent all day watching movies. I got up at 4 in the morning and here's what I watches Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring: 9.5/10 Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers: 10/10 Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King: 10/10 Tomb Stone: 9/10 Got done around 3:00 and went to the theater and saw the Incredibles: 10/10: One of the best animated film I've ever seen.
Mole Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Walking Tall - D Probably the worst movie the Rock has made. Bad acting, bad directing, silly action and just a bad movie. The best part of it was Knoxville, who is doing a pretty decent job as an actor. The Incredibles - A- A great cartoon movie, but I still like Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. better. Actually, Nemo didn't get an A+ rating from me until the last time I saw it. One of the few movies ever to get a A+ from me. My point is that maybe after a few more viewings, the Incredibles will get a higher grade.

CBright7831 Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Spaceballs - A I bought the DVD on nov 2, and I've been watching it ever since then. Now I'm setting my sites on the Young Frankenstien DVD.
Si82 Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Withnail and I (9/10) Fantastic characters, great performances and brilliantly quotable dialogue.
The Czech Republic Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I watched Young Frankenstein and Clerks.
El Gigante Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Before Sunrise (9/10) Great romantic movie, superb characters and dialog. Before Sunset (9/10) Great followup to Before Sunrise. A little too short, but the characters and dialog make up for it once again.
Insane Bump Machine Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 **** Superb acting by Liotta and Patric, and a story that keeps you guessing until the very end.
