Spartan (2004) - [8.5/10]

A fantastic movie by David Mamet (I LOVE his work). Val Kilmer was GREAT and the story was very interesting from beginning to end. Sad that not many people has seen this. WATCH IT!

America's Sweethearts (5/10)

A dissapointing romantic comedy.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off (8/10)

One of the best 80's teen films.

Sergio Leone's "Once Upon A Time In The West." Quite easily one of the greatest Westerns ever. Henry Fonda is GOD as the evil, creepy villain Frank. It also has fantastic music, and the best standoff I've ever seen. :)

10/10

... and an MTV film from 2002 by the name of "Everybody's Doing It".

The former is a 7/10 representation of one of my favourite environments, while the other is just another failed attempt at American Pie glory with cliches and stereotypes every which way but loose - 1.5/10.

The Day After Tomorrow

Hardly a bad movie, that review in an earlier thread did not seem spot on at all. The acting did get cheesy at times, yes, but it certainly wasn't as bad as 10.5 or some of the other TV-disaster flicks. There were plenty of good spots and bad spots alike, and all in all it averaged out to be weaker than Independence Day (to compare directors), but certainly better than some reviews have been covering.

7/10

The only reason that I'd go and see The Day After Tomorrow is for some of the awesome-looking special effects I saw on the commercial.

It does seem to be getting bashed quite a bit and the filmmaker's hopes for a groundbreaking natural disaster flick have gone right out the window. Read what Breathtaking Bob had to say.

Well, that seemed like it was typed in fifteen minutes.

I do agree with the wolves, it did seem unnecessary to do that, especially when they had the deep freeze come in later that was chasing them (which was also unnecessary).

In all honestly, the movie did really go downhill after awhile, and that's what keeps me from rating it higher.

The Day After Tomorrow (2004) - (7.5/10)

Why is this movie catching such hell ? It's no classic, but it was very enjoyable for what it was. Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Emmy Rossum all give solid performances, and the special effects were excellent. But while they were alot of cliches and some scenes could've been left out of the final cut, I still enjoyed it.

Soul Plane (2004) - (4.5/10)

It's no Airplane, but it was somewhat decent.

Completely agree with that, but the quick ending brought it down from a 7.5 to a 7 for me.

Cape Feat (1962 original)-9/10

Much better than the remake, mainly due to the fact that Gregory Peck>Nick Nolte.
