BlackFlagg Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut - 8/10
Art Sandusky Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 The Terminal: 9/10. This is what happens when I care about a main character. Man.
Insane Bump Machine Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Devils On The Doorstep - **** My subtitles were completely fucked up, but still a great movie. Very dramatic in some scenes and silly comedy in others, but it worked. Awesome ending!
Star Ocean 3 Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain - 11/12
Youth N Asia Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World 8 out of 10 Liked it much better than I thought I would. Not much action, but it doesn't drag.
Hank Kingsley Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 I really enjoyed Beyond the Sea. Maybe it's just the Kevin Spacey fanboy in me, but it was a fun movie with an amazing soundtrack and great acting by Spacey and Kate Bosworth. John Goodman and Bob Hoskins were really good, too. Yeah, Spacey directed, wrote, produced, and starred in it (he's in all but about 5 minutes of the movie), and for whatever reason the critics bashed him for that. So what? It's not like he was a detriment. I liked it. 8/10
Si82 Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Mission: Impossible (8/10) Shattered Glass (8/10) Memento (9/10) Lost in Translation (8/10)
Youth N Asia Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Black Hawk Down, 2nd viewing 10 out of 10 Just replaced Full Metal Jacket as my favorite war movie (although I still put it behind HBO's Band of Brothers mini series). It takes 30 minutes to set everything up, then it's all action for another 100 minutes or so. Awesome movie.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 The Life Aquatic : 6/10 Wasn't nearly funny enough. I'm really hoping this elitist "comedy without the use of comedy" genre dies soon.
Mole Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Napoleon Dynamite - D- Horrible, horrible film.
Guest wildpegasus Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 SCREAMING Ninja aka a whole bunch of other names Rating -- Fun I rescently watched the very cheap in price and quality somewhat "Screaming Ninja" DVD. For anyone reading this I would like to reccomend the final fight scene which was a fun one. I did read on the IMDB that there is an edited version of this. I am not sure if this is edited or not. Overall the fight scene was pretty good with the villan and hero moving from place to place while they're fighting. The fight lasts a good amount amount of time and kind of reminded me of a video game where you clear one are, the villan runs to another area and than you fight them there until you finally get the victory. The one problem with the fight was that you never felt the hero was in any sort of real trouble. In fact it's the villan you start to feel sympthany for since he's the one who just takes a vicious control segment from the hero. Maybe we were supposed to cheer for the hero beating the villan up for so long but that only works for so long in my opinion. And there's an absolutely classic scene with a rock in this. It's something that will stay with you forever.

Youth N Asia Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Napoleon Dynamite - D- Horrible, horrible film. I'm glad more people see that this isn't the great movie it's being proclaimed as.
Anorak Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Lost In Translation - 7/10 Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind - 7/10
starvenger Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Finally watched SWAT. Incredibly cliche, paint-by-numbers plot, but things getting blowed up real good is always fun to watch. Not enough to rate this movie as good, but still fun to watch. 4/10
Mole Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 Garden State - B+ Almost had an A, but it had to fall into the romantic comedy genre.
Gary Floyd Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 The Shining 10/10. One of those movies that no matter how many times you see it, it still scares the shit out of you
Guest croweater Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Finding Neverland: 9/10 It was a really beautiful movie with fantastic performances all round. Jonny Depp put in a beauty (but when doesn't he) however, sometimes when he was on closeup all I could notice was the copious amounts of eyeliner he was wearing.
Mole Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Troy - B- Since it strings away from the book, it looses points. Cold Mountain - A+ Wow, one of the best movies I've ever seen. And they ended it right too, a rare A+ from me.
SinToxic Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 The Eye - 7.5/10. Not the creepiest but shot realistically.
Guest wildpegasus Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Lake Placid Saw part of this. Awful movie. -2 out of 10.
