I've read 120 Days of Sodom and Juliette. Justine is on my list of things to read, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

120 Days was indeed quite perverse. It was interesting the way it was structured. When I started reading, I expected a slow start and steady build of depravity, and in a way it was, but then it was in there pretty good right from the start.

Juliette was really kind of erotic in it's own way, almost touching sort of. I read it after 120 Days, so I was already introduced to Sade's ways, and it wasn't as distracting as it could have been. Didn't take things as far either, naturally.

i've read chunks of '120 days of sodom'. more than anything, it seemed hilariously bad to me. didn't get anything in the way of substance out of it at all, just a bunch of "can you top this" stories of depravity that all seemed to end with, "and then we all ate our own shit."

i won't swear by that judgment, since i didn't read the whole thing. but what i read didn't give me the impression that reading any more of it would change my judgment of it.

EDIT: almost forgot--also fun for its repeated use of the phrase "let his fuck fly."

I read a bit of 120 days and found it quite boring. Going into great detail about how clean a young boys butthole is just doesnt make for inspiring reading. It was shocking in its blunt preverseness, but just so droneing on and on with every little detail.
