Mike Tysons Punch Out. I've beaten it countless times, and it still is fun. It never gets old!!

I can't help but beating up every foreigner because America rules...

I never really noticed, but Mr. Sandman, Super MachoMan, and Tyson are all super tough compared to everyone else.

America > The World

Mike Tyson's Punch Out. All the others have been improved upon over the years (except Mario 3 which remains the peak of that series), but even today, there is no better boxing game than Punch Out. Even the SNES version wasn't as good.

I haven't played much on NES, but what I liked the most was Super Mario Brothers.

I liked Super Punch Out, though, but haven't played the first game. Where's the sequel already?!

Of the choices, Castlevania III (cause I'm a big Castlevania mark)

Outside of the choices, Castlevania II, Rygar or Mega Man II (before the premise got silly)

1. Metroid - first game I ever beat...it keeps a special place in my heart for that.

2. Marble Madness - don't ask me why...I just always enjoyed it

3. Contra - just ruled. but never really played it to the point of OVERplaying it.

Honorable Mention:

Duck Hunt

Mario Bros 1-3

Punch Out

Tecmo Bowl Football

...and there was this game that was about riding around in a Jeep and blowing shit up...and for the LIFE of me I can not remember the title of it...but I always loved it and could beat it without losing a life. If someone remembers the name I would be grateful.

EDIT: The name of the game is "JACKAL" ...fucking great game.

I too had fun playing it, though I died many a time doing so

Anything with Mario

Deja Vu

Maniac Mansion

WWF Wrestlemania Challenge

TMNT

Skate or Die

Ski or Die

and probably hundreds others I can't think of right now...

Major League Baseball

I thought Bases Loaded was a lot more fun.

For some reason, I always beat the pants out of the NY team, causing the game to end in the 5th innning because I was up like 11-0.

I liked Zelda II a whole lot more than Zelda.

Anyway my vote goes to Crystalis. I was so excited when it got ported to the gameboy color, then they totally fucked it up with horrible horrible horrible music.

Well, I had to vote other. I liked Castlevania & Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest both better than Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse. Super Mario Bros. 3 was in the poll, and it's a great game, but I can't say it's my favorite game ever on the original Nintendo. Same goes for The Legend of Zelda, Metroid & Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

River City Ransom & Super Dodgeball were both great games that I enjoyed for hours on top of hours. Same with Final Fantasy, Faxanadu, Crystalis & Dragon Warrior.

I played a lot of Phantom Fighter too. A lot of people have never heard of that game, let alone played it. Rygar is great. Micro Machines is awesome. Excitebike is a favorite. Blaster Master was tough, challenging and a blast. I was a big fan of Contra, Bionic Commando, Tecmo Bowl, Ninja Gaiden, Battle of Olympus, Megaman 2, Karnov, Rygar, Bad Dudes, Friday the 13th, Little Nemo: The Dream Master, Kabuki: Quantum Fighter & Kid Icarus.

When all is said and done however, my favorite Nintendo game of all-time has to be Megaman 3. The only games that really come close to it are Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, River City Ransom & Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest.

To me, this question is harder to answer than "what is your favorite song" or "what is your favorite movie."

The series as a whole was fun, but MLB had actual rosters and nobody named 'Fargo'

After playing Double Dragon at the arcades and *loving it*, I was very, very disappointed by the NES version when I finally got my hands on it.

However, at the time I was a huge TMNT fan, so that game probably recieved the most attention from me, and I loved every second of playing it.

Many an afternoon be wasted on that one.

I'm pleased that I'm not the only one who will put my vote down, without even needing to think about it, for Crystalis. It's not only my favorite NES game, it's one of the most enjoyable experiances that I've ever had in all of my years of playing video games. I could sit down right now and play it, I'm always up to playing that game.

Tough choice, but I will have to go with L'Empereur. It took me years to beat that game, but it was so refreshing once I finally accomplished it.

Honourable mentions: River City Ransom, Dick Tracy, Super Dodge Ball, Defenders of the Crown.

Wow, what a tough question.

For me, I guess the contenders would be

Mike Tyson's Punchout

Maniac Mansion

Tecmo Super Bowl (as cool as Tecmo Bowl is, Super is by far a superior game)

RBI Baseball

Super Spike V-Ball

So overall, I voted other and that vote is for RBI Baseball. Does it suck playing against the CPU? Hell yeah. But against a human component there is no better baseball game on any system. Video games don't get much more intense than RBI tourneys (still to this very day).

The Goonies II owned everything but Punch Out. How could that not be on the list?
