Enigma 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Last Sunday (February 29th), Bobby the Brain Heenan began posting messages on his official message board, for the first time in quite a while. The message board has a strange format, but here were some of the highlights: He verifies that he will be doing commentary at Wrestlemania 20 during several matches. He shot down the rumor that he died four years ago. He mentions that he's happy Chris Benoit is getting a push. He explains that even though Vince McMahon's hair doesn't move much, even in hurricane conditions, it doesn't mean he wears a wig. He mentions that he was very hurt by the passing of Curt Hennig. He explained that he can write books for decades because he has more stories than Dr. Seuss. http://www.bobbythebrain.com/disc3_frm.htm credit: 1Wrestling

haVoc 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Who do you guys think he would click better with? JR/King or Cole/Taz?
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Who do you guys think he would click better with? JR/King or Cole/Taz? How about a team of him and Ventura?

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 All I have to say is this though... As long as they don't bring back Steve McMichaels to commentate, WHOEVER Heenan is with will be fine.
Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Heenan would be able to bring Ross back to his old form, just by his presence. Ross would most likely dump his stupid Raw persona and call the match with Bobby. I also wouldn't mind a Heenan/Tazz combo, seeing as Tazz has improved A LOT in the past 6-7 months. jester 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I think that since Heenan would probably do his job properly, he'd only frustrate JR, and call him on every mistake or every bit of hypocrisy. Or, maybe Vince will totally neuter Heenan's style. Heenan: Victoria had no business even being in that match to begin with. Molly is really courageous to- Vince (via headphone): Say Victoria has nice tits! Heenan: -get in the ring with her, seeing as in the past Victoria has been so unstable... Vince: Say Victoria has nice tits! Heenan: And let's not forget what a betrayal this is JR! Molly sponsored and supported Victoria when she first- Vince: SAY VICTORIA HAS NICE TITS! Heenan: (sighs) And Victoria has nice tits. Vince: Yes! Home run!
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I would KILL to see Bobby Heenan commentate again in WWE. His commentating in the Gimmick Battle Royal was better than any commentary done since the new millenium began.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I'm guessing he does a special commetnary for ONE match... Sadly...The only "throwaway" match is the Playboy match...so he'll get those honors .
Enigma 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 "It's going to be WrestleMania 27 by the time Iron Sheik gets to the ring"
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 "It's going to be WrestleMania 27 by the time Iron Sheik gets to the ring" Minor nitpick... it was WrestleMania
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I think he'd work better with Cole and Tazz. Those two are the "new school" commentary team of the WWE and would provide a better contrast to Heenan, the classic old school commentator. Putting him with JR and King would be like "old school meets getting-to-be old school." If he isn't with one of those teams, then he'd need to be with at least a play-by-play guy. Pairing him with Jesse Ventura or Tazz would seem fun, but with two color commentators running amok with no play-by-play guy to anchor things, it could get awkward. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I got it! Heenan and Coach!
Fökai 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I'd expect the WWE to bring in Heenan and another commentator (Ventura?) to make a three-man booth for both brands, even if it's for a match or two.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 This news makes me happy. This is something WWE needs to really make WM XX special.
Eclipse 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I would love to see Heenan/Tazz commentate. Tazz is probably the best announcer the WWE has got.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I would love to see Heenan/Tazz commentate. Tazz is probably the best announcer the WWE has got. I agree. Actually, I think I could stand Jim Ross and Tazz as the only two commentators. Jerry Lawler is a moron who acts confused and intrigued by every stupid little predictable event on Raw. Michael Cole is a moron who has to say "Cruiserweight action exclusive to Smackdown!" ten times during a three minute CW match that has a minute of rest holds. Scroby 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I would like to see Bobby work with Tazz and Cole but if he works with Ross and Lawler, he'll sit there and rag on Lawler the entire time for all the puppy comments lawler makes. Bobby even said before that Lawler isn't good because she just talks about women all the damn time. So'd it be nice and funny as hell to hear Bobby just go off on Lawler. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Someone call Tony Schiavone! Cause you know, Wrestlemania 20 is supposed to be "the biggest night in the history of our sport!" He can do his half assed chuckle followed by "That's our Heenan" and can act stunned at the power of the Big Show, maybe accidently call him THE GIANT Also he can talk about the main event the whole show and ignore those worthless minor matches like that cruiserweight battle royal (like the WWE CARES) and bra and panties match. He could speculate on what Sting has to say about this until someone reminds him Sting isn't IN the WWE.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 But Heenan hates Tony.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Also he can talk about the main event the whole show That would imply that this show HAS a main event.
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 WWE Logic: There is only one commentator left to carry Bobby "The Brain" Heenan these days... please welcome the commentationg debut, the returning, STEPHANIE MCMAHON! P.S. I will mark out like a mo-fo for anything Heenan, I think him calling the Cruiserweight match would be entertaining and probably a good likelihood of happening. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted March 4, 2004 How would Heenan/Tazz be good in actuallity? Tazz = heel commentator now, which is usually nit-picking the babyfaces. Heenan will NOT be a good babyface PBP man. WCW did it during the nWo days to some extent and he wasn't even close to being as good as his 1991-93 run for WWF. Heenan/Ross would be better, considering Heenan likes to annoy the good guy. Or just bring in Mean Gene Okerlund. Heenan loves mocking him.

Markme123 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2004 I have a feeling that because of age or the throat cancer deal he might not sound so good. Hey I like classic Bobby Heenan, but those last WCW years when he referenced people nobody knew and sounded old annoyed me.
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2004 Two color commentators and no play by play man is asking for disaster. I remember the Nitros with Heenan, Bischoff and Mongo. Hey, come on. That's not fair. Bischoff knew the super-technical name for every kick there was.
