RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Doesn't this match own the most near-falls in a 15 minute time period record? And how many of those were actually believable?

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Number 3? This should be number 1!!! Thanks. Greatest match wise, it doesn't hold up and shouldn't even be on the list.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 10, 2004 so that pretty much leaves Rock/Austin and either Bret/Owen. Unless they go cheap and do McMahon Vs McMahon.
Karc 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Shawn still thinks the ladder match is his "innovation." Oh well.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 The ladder match is incredibly high given that the No Mercy 99 ladder match made it completely obsolete. LOL @ "the first" ladder match. That wasn't even your first ladder match Shawn let alone thee first.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I love this match for being everything the TLC matches aren't... A smart match that doesn't rely on HIGH SPOTS.

Guest Jimbo Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Y'know, for once, JUST ONE TIME, I'd like to hear SCOTT HALL's opinions about the ladder match, instead of HBK go on and on about being an innovator and all that trash. I don't care where or how he says it, but I'd like to hear HIS thoughts one time. Enough of this "Yay for HBK!"-WWE junk. SHow the Bad Guy some respect! Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Bret brought the Ladder Match into WWF... Another thing Shawn took from Bret.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 "Ramon's under the ladder for a second time...that's DOUBLE BAD LUCK!" I love that line and it slips into my vocabulary every once in a while.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Shawn still thinks the ladder match is his "innovation." Oh well. considering that this wasn't really the first ladder match either..although he was still in the first one (vs Bret Hart) I sorta liked the HBK/Bret Ladder match off the Smackem/Whackem tape although the pacing was a lot different and it was in front of a 1/2 dead house show crowd instead of a MSG WM X crowd. Then what, exactly, does it rely on? It's like 90% high spots; they're just not gasp-worthy high spots.
Guest Deebo Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Putting smarkism a side for a second, you all know it's bullshit that Hogan/Andre didn't make it. That is the match that made the WWF.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 considering that this wasn't really the first ladder match either..although he was still in the first one (vs Bret Hart) That wasn't "the first one" either. Dynamite Kid talks about doing Ladder matches in his book and that was in the early 80s.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Unlike the TLC matches, they didn't bump for the sake of bumping, in the TLC matches it's just loosely connected spot. stop. spot. This one just felt continuiously flowing, the ladder was used as a weapon, not a launching pad (save for two spots)...It just felt more natural.
