Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 10, 2004 The celebs have become a Mania staple, and you have to assume that for XX, they'll really go all out and stuff. Last year, we had Limp Bizkit, who were awful, and the Catfight Girls, who, while not very good, were at least enthusiastic. Needless to say, they'd have to do much better this year. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 If they're lucky, Howard Stern at this point *would rather not have celebrities / musical performers (even though it is WM 20) because it would cut into the time and there are already 12 matches to go through
BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I'd like to see a few New York celebrities at the show, but not APART of the show. Just show them in the crowd and acknowledge them in attendence, much like a boxing match or basketball game. If I had to pick 5? Some celebs like: - Howard Stern - Regis Philbin - Donald Trump - Spike Lee - Alex Rodriguez
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I think Regis will be there. And I don't think there's any real harm in making a celeb the ring announcer or time keeper.

justcoz 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 William Hung from American Idol could do his rendition of HBK's Sexy Boy. Rudy G would be a nice touch since it's in New York. I'd love to see Regis do something with Heenan and Okerlund (please pair these two up somehow). I would love to see Stern but he's refused to do WWE events before. I don't see Mania being any different. I still think they should have done something leading into the event to play off of the "Rock n Wrestling Connection" with Hip Hop/John Cena. At one point I posted something about how Cena should have faced someone like Eminem or 50 Cent in the ring. You wouldn't even have to go that far. They could have got Big Show some heat by insulting some rappers and just had them appear at Mania in support of Cena. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Meth and Red getting into the ring with Cena to rap after Cena's win would be GREAT. I miss back when they'd have celebrities you knew about well ahead of time. Last real one they had take an actual active role (not standing onstage and singing or catfighting) was Ice-T accompanying the Godfather and D-Lo Brown to the ring. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 10, 2004 It'd have a purpose related to an actual wrestler unlike The Catfight... The Biggest new Name WWE has is John Cena, whose widely popular for his raps...so after winning the biggest match of his career, he does his special edition freestyle joined by two big name rappers that only cement his "cred". * Stuff AS knows NOTHING about. Slickster 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 What "cred" The Cena character is god damn dork. Say what you want about his character, but at least he's over with the fans. Personally, Steinbrenner, Trump, the Rockettes and Muhummad Ali (for the WM1 connection) would be good choices.

NYU 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Personally, Steinbrenner, Trump, the Rockettes and Muhummad Ali (for the WM1 connection) would be good choices. You should be BANNED for that. The day George Steinbrenner appears on WWE Programming is the day I officially stop watching. I wouldn't be surprised to see Howard Stern make an appearance. Whenever WWE comes to New York, he always talks about them wanting him to make an appearance on one of their shows. It could give him a forum to talk about this nonsense with Clear Channel, especially since these FCC regulations could wind up affecting WWE sooner rather than later. justcoz 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 The day George Steinbrenner appears on WWE Programming is the day I officially stop watching. Good thing you said WWE programming because Steinbrenner appeared a few times on WWF's Saturday Night's Main Event. Just shots of him in the crowd. Bobby Heenan used to always refer to him as his very good friend. Not sure if it was a legit friendship or just Heenan being The Brain. I believe I read at one time they were friends in real life.
