Guest Skironox Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Last night after the Wrestlemania special I was too lazy to change the channel and ended up watching the season premiere of Game Over. That was a horrible mistake. It was basically a collection of all the punchlines from the ads. It's supposed to be an animated comedy show, but it takes place in the video game world! Meaning they just take all the terrible mainstream stereotypes of video gaming and reinforce them further in the publics eyes. As could be expected, most of the gags revolve around blowing up stuff and cliches like end level bosses and stuff. I can't be asked to write a detailed description of it, I'm no Ebert, but I'll just tell you it was terrible. Oh, I think Joe Pesci voices the dog, too. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 The previews looked awful. UPN has a million shitty shows, and they keep bringing them back. While they cancel Haunted, a decient show, after just a few episodes.

Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted March 13, 2004 They should put The Mullets and Game Over back to back and call it, "The Dumbing-Down of America Hour."
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 They should put The Mullets and Game Over back to back and call it, "The Dumbing-Down of America Hour." But... but they DID put them back to back. I watched a tiny bit of Game Over during the Wonderfalls commercial breaks. Really not good. Really... really... not good. Bloody UPN.

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 http://www.g4tv.com/html/news.asp?news_key...&article_page=1 It appears too many kids were playing video games Wednesday night to tune in to a new television show about the lives of video game superheroes. The debut of "Game Over," touted as prime-time TV's first fully computer-animated series, turned up lackluster viewership for broadcaster UPN, according to preliminary ratings data from Nielsen Media Research on Thursday. "Game Over," the story of a family of video game heroes, drew an average of about 2 million viewers in the 8 p.m. half-hour putting it in last place of the six major broadcast networks and down roughly 50 percent from the same slot one week earlier. Among adults aged 18 to 49, the audience most prized by the majority of advertisers, the show drew a 0.6 rating, lowest in the half hour by a wide margin and down about 63 percent from the previous week, when UPN showed an episode of "Enterprise" in the 8 p.m. hour. Each ratings point represents 1 percent of the homes that have television sets. The show did best among kids aged 6 to 17, ranking third in its period behind two established sitcoms, ABC's "My Wife and Kids" and Fox's "That '70s Show." Its performance improved in those demographics substantially over the prior week, most notably among children aged 6 to 11. Among males aged 12 to 34, the show tied for last in its time period. That audience in particular has declined sharply for all the networks this season, a drop many have blamed on increased online game-playing during prime-time hours. An online-enabled video game based on the show's lead female character, Raquel Smashenburn, voiced by Lucy Liu, was released Wednesday night in conjunction with the premiere. UPN is a unit of Viacom Inc.

Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 Oh, I think Joe Pesci voices the dog, too. I don't think so. The dog-thing is voiced by Artie Lange, formerly on Mad TV and now on Howard Stern. Joe Pesci could never lower himself to such a level. My liking of Patrick Warburton seriously dropped after watching this abortion of a show.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2004 Actually the episode of the Mullets was just an unaired episode cause when I looked at the digital cable guide for it, it said rerun.

Can't be things like finals, the weather getting better, or the new TV shows sucking ass, can it?
