A Smart MSG Crowd turns on Lesnar & Goldy

Recommended Posts

Guest Trivia247

here is where I think we as Smart marks have truly shown that the internet does make a impact on fans.

Had there not been confirmable rumors of Goldberg and or Lesnar's departure from the WWE their match might have gotten far differently.

the MSG Crowd in New york always was a crowd that was smart, they didn't stay to the script in who to cheer or not but thought for themselves, and they must go online to...

I am listening as I type to the Replay of WM of Brock vs Goldberg.

The Crowd's chants of Sell out, nah nah nah nah! and even Goldberg Suck had truly gotten into both departing wrestlers. Brock especially seemed unnerved by it. As the two finally decided to lock it, it was almost like something out of WCW where the wrestlers almost decide to just stay in the headlock for too long, just to piss people off. (NOW i probably can guess the concept of a long headlock was to show a test of strength. but I think the duration went far beyond the scope)

the Match itself in terms of moves was pretty light. And it would have been a short match had it not been for the crowds rabid response to both men.

The MSG Crowd even in its independant thought of the WWE product still is Loyal to the promotion that they pay the money to be entertained by. And when they hear that Goldberg and Brock basically was gonna take the big WM Paycheck and Split the company, that was like them Pissing on the WWE after taking their money.

Forget for the Moment the reasons for their leaving (Waits for the...Oh its all the Undertaker's fault DAMN HIM!!!) Their timing sucked. They waited till the Big event where both men would be in a prominent position. the match itself would probably be put higher up on the card had the two not decide the split afterwards.

At the end of the match, Austin's stunners though probably scripted was also could have another meaning, as he stunned both Brock and Goldberg.... He essentially told both to Fuck off and don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.

Both men brought the wrath of the mob down upon themselves in my humble Warped opinion.

Brock, I don't give two shits if he is the next big thing or Not, he was pushed to Fast (many unmentionable Smarks on here agreed on that intially when he rose up the ranks in under a year) And found himself at the Top of Smackdown. But when suddenly his spot gets threatened by a returning Undertaker he quits. He was Only in the fucking company 2 years. Why should he receive any special treatment like he was a Austin or a HHH or a Rock? He should wrestle whomever is put in front of him, and win or lose no matter what. If he had any heart in the business he trained for in the Amateurs and in the Professional for the past couple of years.

And Goldberg... Well My opinion was well documented on here about him. Its funny how when he was Champion he didn't have a problem with the Company he was in, but once the title was off him the same complaints on Misuse and not being paid properly comes to the surface. He faced a roadblock in his Wcwesque Career in the WWE in the form of HHH Sorry Goldy that the company doesn't think your the center of the Universe. his complaining made him disappear off WWE TV till Mania, even if he was also making a movie at the time but then he proclaims he is gonna leave. Screw him and everyone that looks like him.

In the end there is always the chance that both men will come back.

Brock I think is the more likely one to make a return. When he finds out that no other promotion will pay him as the WWE does....And No Football team will take him seriously. he can go to JAPAN, and be the Pale White Godzilla!

Goldberg I think got plenty of money that he will just disappear brood how the Evil WWE misused him and just fade off the map.

anyway it was a interesting moment in WM history how the fans via the internet caught wind to events and responded accordingly.

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking

You're right - much like Shawn Michaels in Montreal on Raw a while back, we got to see Brock Lesnar's true feelings.

That match did not turn out the way that it should've - in fact, it was an absolute train wreck.

as im hearing Vince come out, I think his little speech could have also been done as damage control for the behavior of Brock and Goldberg towards them.

Those two really stunk it up, and the "boring" and "this match sucks" were directed at it--the crowd seemed ready to ignore it as the match started, but nooo...they decided to dog it at WRESTLEMANIA! I won't blame Goldberg much because at least he tried (spear, Gorilla-press into a spear, Corkscrew Neckbreaker), but Brock did jack-shit.

Brock, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out if that's the way you're going to go out.

If it is a hoax, it's gonna seem really stupid because I fail to see the point in doing it.

I agree, had we not received the news of Brock leaving WWE to play for the NFL, we never would have heard those great words of "You Sold Out!"

By the way, Goldberg getting his ass booed to Scott Steiner levels was another great WM moment. :D

must be disheartening to both men that the Crowd would rather wanted to see Hogan out there than those two.

HOGAN! HOGAN! HOGAN!

However, Goldberg winning was a real "WTF?!" moment. I thought for sure Vince wouldn't let His Creation job to Turner's Creation.

So, I wonder if this means they'll keep Goldberg around...*shrug*

I'd rather see Hogan than them two.

And I remember thinking to myself when Brock first debuted that "he was shit and I can't wait to see him leave". Well today is that day so...

WOOO! FUCK LESNAR! FUCK HIM IN THE ASS! Change him back to being 11 and let RF fuck him while hes bent over playing for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Well at least Goldberg had a semi-legitimate reason for leaving. I mean his contract is simply up, it happens all the time. Brock, however, is just a punk bitch who was handed everything on a silver platter early in his career and he played the role of spoiled brat very nicely which led up to his quitting. Fuck Him.

From what I hear, someone dressed as Hogan was walking around doing his manuerisms and ripping his t-shirt, which started the Hogan chants.

WWE.com posted it immediatly after Mania ended.

Anyway...

So at the end of the match...Brock, Austin and Goldberg are all hanging around...and it dawns on me that Goldberg is the only one in the ring who hasn't (or isn't) just walked out of the company.

Goldberg would stay if they paid him what he wants...Austin and Brock just left.

Okay. I did see a bunch of ringside fans looking away from the ring towards something in the crowd, come to think of it.

*Agreed with NoCalMike*

Would Vince do this just to screw with/discredit internet fans and smarks? You bet your ass.

The crowd reactions added one whole star to my rating of the match. This brought the star total to '*'.

I'd say it went from -*** to DUD. The match was worse then Warrior/Hogan II. But the crowd was entertaining as hell, so it boosts the rating.

MSG. Despite being 50,000 less people, they channeled their anger as loud as possible on all who sucked.

thats apples and oranges

the Hogan Rock match with the fans reaction was the polar opposite to what happen tonight.

the fan reaction on here will Haunt all those involved with that Match.

Poor Austin no wonder he was so "Docile" He probably didn't want to work the crowd any more than need too. Probably doesn't give a shit about boos, but what the crowd did was NOT Heat. not heel heat at anyrate that was full on ECW style hatred and contempt

Yeah, I loved Rock pandering to the MSG crowd before the match and the fans just SHAT on him ala Shawn in 1996.

I liked how the crowd was behind Shawn at first tonight but after he tried his Germans...MSG turned on his ass in a fucking instant.

Depends on what you mean by "infamous."

Nothing good came out of Toronto going mad for Hogan...

By far, the MSG crowd is more infamous. The Toronto deal was just cheering Hogan cause they loved Hogan. This was booing the entire match because it was announced on dirt sheets on the internet that both guys were leaving the company. Hell, the Lesnar leaving news only took 5 days to circulate.

Well...HBK wasn't in the most popular booth to start. The crowd was clearly behind Benoit the whole time.
