Do you people actually LIKE Bush? I don't care what Kerry may have said in hte past. What he says and does now matters to me, and as long as he wins, I don't care if he says he was supported by King George the III.

What he says and does changes on a weekly basis.

But, hey, if electing a wishy-washy man who might be as weak as W. European leaders makes you all damp, have a blast.

FROM THE DRUDGEREPORT INSERT KKK THING HERE

Apparently, the whole incident was a transcript fuckup.

Subject: FW: Senator Kerry's remark at fundraiser about foreign leaders  wanting him to beat Bush

Poolers,

Given the growing attention to Senator Kerry's remark at the Fla.  fundraiser about foreign leaders wanting him to beat Bush, and Kerry's  subsequent statements that he'd merely "heard from" leaders, I went back  to my recording of the event to re-confirm his remarks and put them in  context. I wanted to provide that for all of you as well as CORRECT the  record on a key word that I mistranscribed.

When Kerry concluded his stump to the Florida fundraisers and  donors, Milton Ferrell, Kerry's Florida finance chair, piped up:

MILTON FERRELL: "This is more than just the 50 states. You travel around  outside the states, the people are still [inaudible] Europeans and  elsewhere, they're counting on the American people. They hate Bush, but  they know we're going to get rid of him. They're counting on us.  [inaudible] It's a lot more than just [inaudible]-"

KERRY: "I've been hearing it, I'll tell ya. The news, the coverage in  other countries, the news in other places. I've met more leaders who  can't go out and say it all publicly, but boy they look at you and say,  you gotta win this, you gotta beat this guy, we need a new policy,  things like that. So there is enormous energy out there. Tell them,  whereever they can find an American abroad, they can contribute," a  reference to donations, prompting laughter from the crowd.

Transcribing on the bus in Florida, and again on the plane ride to  Tampa, I heard "foreign leaders" rather than "more leaders." Listening  to the audio recorder now, in the quiet of my house, I hear "more  leaders" and I am certian that "more leaders" is what Senator Kerry  said. I am very sorry for this screw-up, and please feel free to hold me  accountable to your editors and higher-ups.

So all of a sudden Drudge is reliable? :)

No, seriously, I've already read this in a couple of other places, so it's probably true Healy said it - as far as that goes. Now, as for whether what Healy said is believable, that's another question. Say "foreign" to yourself in Kerry's rounded accents. Now say "more." It isn't even the same sound. "More" comes out of his mouth more like "mawh," and "foreign" is "FOHr(n)."

Let Healy release the tape he claims he transcribed incorrectly; let the CIA and the FBI examine it. Let's have a congressional inquiry into the possible falsification of the transcript. Then, and only then, will I be willing to possibly concede that more evidence is needed before we can determine that Healy might not have lied.

Oh, and I want his dental records too.

Nothing is hotter than Maryland senator Barbra Mikulski, who bears a striking resemblence to Jim Ross in drag...

Wasn't there a story released two weeks ago that the guy translating the audio tape fucked up and Kerry really said, "more leaders" which could basically mean the leader of my family, reather then "foreign leaders" ? And the guy himself admitted the big fuckup.

You would think if that was the case Kerry would have said "That was an innacurate transcription of what I said" or "I didn't say that." But it's looking like Kerry may steal the "WTFDIDHEJUSTSAY?" award for the Democrats from Terry McAuliffe.

And Kerry didn't say it wasn't true.

...Of course, after he got the endorsement of Malaysias virulently anti-Semitic PM (or is it Foreign Minister), he decided to forego further foreign leader endorsements.

Kerry: Capitulating on endorsements

Well look I was just trying to point out what was reported. I believe the article stating the mistake was even posted on here in one of the threads.

Good lord, do you think a foreign leader, if there is one or more, would want Kerry to name them? I mean, that immediately puts a huge strain on their relations with America's current administration.

Jobber that makes sense. What DOESN'T make sense is Kerry coming out and saying he had the secrect endorsements. He HAD to know he would be grilled for it and keeping shut would not look good.

Also, there was this from OMGWALLSTJOURNALetcetc

Last Friday, Sen. Kerry finally had to raise the white flag in the ongoing exchange over the foreign leaders who secretly back his campaign. After a former Malaysian leader known for his anti-Semitic ravings publicly embraced Mr. Kerry, the senator's campaign was forced to concede that "this election will be decided by the American people, and the American people alone. It is simply not appropriate for any foreign leader to endorse a candidate."

Not really. Most voters don't listen to the partisan bickering, only the people like us do. They get the gist about the endorsements and say "yeah, whatever" and vote what they want to anyway.

The only way the other side has even been able to react is to try and put the burden of proof on Kerry, which any idiot would know could cause him to jepordize a country's relations with the United States.

That's all there is to it.

Everyone is assuming that everything is really 50 Bush/50 Anyone But Bush. It's actually 1/3 Bush, 1/3 Kerry, and a 1/3 swing give or take. Stuff like this DOES matter, it's already been part of Bush ads which are being targeted towards that 1/3 swing not the 1/3 Bush. Most people in the US don't take too kindly to foreign "endorsements" especially when one of the canidates brags about it.
