AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2004 Vs. Eddie Guerrero (any match) ...except for Armageddon '02. Also, the Rumble win should be included, but it would be a waste of space to include the whole match on there, I think. Is the Raw is Quad match on a DVD yet? I liked the Rock/Benoit match from Fully Loaded 2000 (?), but I think that's been on a Rock DVD and there are a lot of better matches that could be picked. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2004 2) Best of DVD's They have started this with HHH - but they should do more of an ECW approach where to focus is just on matches (DVD's like Deep Impact, Hardcore History, etc). I would love to see a 'Best of the WWF' 10 DVD set: An Anthology with Matches. Here's a free one Vince, you can call it "WWEvolution" and it would sell like hotcakes because EVERY wrestling fan wants to watch wrestling (duh) and they want to watch those classic matches, but just don't have access to them. With WCW's library the WWF has opened up a whole new way to present a wrestler - and even though it might pain McMahon to acknowledge WCW's history, it would be a great way to get the fans to care about that wrestler more (Why yes, I AM waiting for a Chris Benoit DVD). This is a simple 'thank you' to the fans for watching and a sign to the newer fans that great things can happen - so it is best to continue watching. - Triple Rererererer 11/10/

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 I can see now: The Ultimate Chris Benoit Collection or From The Vault: Chris Benoit or knowing WWE...Chris Benoit: Toothless Aggression! DDP-Benoit took place at SuperBrawl VIII. Fall Brawl '99 was Benoit-Sid. I clearly remember Benoit being the US Champ defending it against DDP on a PPV in 99 though. Edit: Thanks guys for answering. Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted March 17, 2004 Road Wild 99 EDIT: DAMMIT. Beaten to it. P.S. I feel like bringing up the thread where when a Benoit DVD was suggested both Choken and Anglesault went 'BWAAAHAHAHA'. Of course, at that time I likely would have done the same rather than the opposite.
IWD 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 Andy: You wouldn't want to see the 04 Rumble on it? I wouldn't want them to use up a whole hour on one match to be honest. I presume they'd show highlights in a build-up to the WrestleMania match.
Jebus 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 On one hand, putting the Rumble on the DVD will use up an hour that could be devoted to other matches... On the other, now I don't have to waste money on the Rumble 04 DVD...God, that undercard was a disaster!

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted March 17, 2004 He might be a good storyteller. Benoit seems better at doing a taped segment than being on a live mic. Someone seemed to have spiked his water last night because he was actually pretty good in his promo on HHH. Plus the fact he didn't bother exchanging words with him and decided to kick his ass in about 3:00 makes it better.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 17, 2004 I'm not sure why people are suggesting the kind of lacklustre Ultimate Submission match. Anyway, while this DVD is cool and all, after finishing the Ric Flair set tonight, I really want an ""Ultimate Ric Flair Collection: Volume 2" by the end of the year. Well, that kinda defeats the purpose of an "Ultimate" collection... And the Ultimate Submission match--that was the half-hour thing on Backlash 2001, right? Guest Brian Report post Posted March 17, 2004 Well, that kinda defeats the purpose of an "Ultimate" collection... Hey, be fair to Flair. Man has a good body of work to draw from. They've just started to tap it.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 17, 2004 And the Ultimate Submission match--that was the half-hour thing on Backlash 2001, right? Yeah. It was a good ***1/4 match, but absolutely every other major match in their series was better.

They've just started to tap it. And he had good stuff after the 92 Rumble that they left off. They can drag this out to three or four volumes and make tons of cash. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 17, 2004 I've always wondered, did the Radicalz screw up their heel turn? I seem to remember a ten, fifteen second pause between HHH's signal ("The man who gave you your contracts!") and the actual attack.

I seem to remember a ten, fifteen second pause between HHH's signal ("The man who gave you your contracts!") and the actual attack. Well, I think they were waiting for Foley to turn around before attacking. Plus, I always got the feeling that HHH made the offer of contracts to them in return for jumping Foley that moment, meaning it wasn't a set-up on Foley, which meant it took them a few moments to realize what HHH was saying and what he wanted in return. Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 I'd like them to stick that title match against Rock in it. You know the one that nearly caused a riot when they though Benoit actually won the belt before we got a dusty finish.

cawthon777 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 They should put his match with Scorpio from a '93 Clash (January, I think) on their, I remember it being a very good match for two (at the time) relative unknowns. That would be SuperBrawl III. The match went 19:59 before Scorpio blocked Benoit's dragon suplex to get the win, one second before the time limit. I think PWI ranked it as one of the top matches of the year, even though it was the end of Benoit's singles push at that point in his WCW career. Not even knowing a Benoit DVD was in the works until right now, I've spent the past 2 days putting together a Benoit compilation. Some things that I'm missing as well as some others that must eventually end up on DVD: - footage of the Triple Threat ... I don't need matches, per say, but I'd mark out for at least highlights of Benoit and Malenko as a tag team - any of the Eddie / Benoit matches from their seemingly endless series on Nitro ... Even if it's a 10-minute throw away, I'll take it - Benoit / Malenko from Hog Wild 96 ... stole the show - Benoit / Sullivan from Bash 96 - Benoit / Malenko vs. Raven / Saturn from Stampede 99 - Benoit / Bret from Kansas City - footage from the Radicalz first night in a WWE ring and Triple H / Benoit (if only to foreshadow WrestleMania XX four years later) - any of the Benoit / Jericho IC title matches in 2000 - Benoit going over Rock in early 2000 (think it happened twice on TV before Rock won the title at Backlash) - Benoit / Jericho vs. Austin / Triple H - Benoit / Angle vs. Edge / Rey from No Mercy - Benoit vs. Angle from the Rumble - not sure if I want Benoit / Brock from Smackdown ... yes, it was a great match and I never got to see it in full (my local UPN crapped out of me and I had a black screen for the last 10 minutes of the show) but Brock did win and there was no resolution to the feud - WrestleMania XX and the post match celebration with his family in the ring

There was a screwup with the time somewhere and the match actually went shorter than that. But eh, that's the way it goes sometimes. We still got a great match so I hold no animosity to anyone here. I saw the last 8 or so minutes of a handheld WCW match they had which was great too. They were going around the house shows doing 20 minutes draws with some Scorpio victories thrown in later on if memory serves me correct.

They were booing the match and everything. Was horrible. I hate dumb ass bikers. Benoit vs Malenko is one of my all time favourite matches. The workrate as in rate of work(physical effort) was off the charts. They actually started the match throwing wild fists at each other. Not exactly the easiest way to start off such a long match. To be fair there were some cheers from the crowd when they went into the NHL playoff like overtimes. It was just that they were overpowered by boos. Taking the whole card into consideration though I'd definitely say this was the worst crowd I've ever seen in the history of wrestling.
