Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Weird trade on my franchise. Cubs traded Sosa to the Toronto Blue Jays for Carlos Delgado. So the Cubs now have a scrub at right field, Delgado at first, and Derrek Lee on the bench. I see that crap all the time. EA needs to do ALOT of work on the AI for next years game. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Jeff Weaver no hit me for 7+ before I finally got a few hits off him. Dodgers still won 2-1 though. He has one of the toughest 2 Seamed Fastballs to pick up in the game that I've seen. As far as trades go in my franchise teams have only been trading minor leaguers all about. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Well I've got another offer made to me. This time Delgado's the name being entertained. What the hell is this? Don't these teams realize I can't afford those guys?
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2004 In my game Boston put Nomar, Schilling & Pedro on the trading block and Chicago put Magglio on. I guess Boston can't afford them after they signed Pudge.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted May 18, 2004 I guess you didn't update the rosters before starting your franchise then Kahran.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2004 I guess you didn't update the rosters before starting your franchise then Kahran. Nope. I don't have a network adapter. Do they even offer updates for the GameCube version anyways?
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted May 18, 2004 No, I just did it manually. I'm anal retentive like that.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2004 I want to cry. I just had Chris Morris pitch a full game against Halladay and The Jays: striking out seven, and only giving up one earned run on 4 hits. He doesn't win, he loses 2-1 thanks to a fucking blunder on a fucking run down by Vidro (who couldn't fucking catch the ball on the throw to get the bastard out). What pisses me off more, is The Jays pulled Halladay after six innings of work, so I figured I could get my bats going. Of course, since this is Morris, they don't show up once again. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted May 19, 2004 I turned off the Hot & Cold zones as somebody previously mentioned in this thread and the game is just better looking. I strike-out more batters now seeing as how the comp doesn't appear to know where the strike-zone is either. I'm playing it on All Star mode currently. To be honest, I just pitch the bottom corners myself. Screw the rest of the strike zone. I just go for the bottom corners and the batters play a wait and see game and usually get SO'ed for it. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted May 19, 2004 I have Pedro Martinez at 11-0 now with a 1.38 ERA, 69Ks and 0 walks in 91 innings
Cartman 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2004 Sounds about right, I have Pedro at 18-3 1.65 ERA 179 K's in 202.1 Innings...Including a No-No.
Mole 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Bah, I traded Pedro in the beginning of the season. But I signed Maddux and he is 11-3 with 2.02 ERA in 190 innings pitched or something like that.
A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2004 I'm kinda steamed at myself for forgetting to trade Soriano for A-Rod before I started my dynasty with the Padres, since I was able to build my team into the team of the century, with my 1-9 at one point being Renteria, Baldellu, Pujols, Ordonez, Phelps, Lecroy, Crede, and a rapidly aging Roberto Alomar. then a starting rotation based on Halladay and Beckett. Makes me feel like the whole thing is tainted.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2004 how come the big name guys are always on the trade block, guys like Zito, Delgado, Halliday, etc....these guys are ALWAYS getting traded...
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted May 23, 2004 Their teams can't afford them. Notice its the teams with smaller payrolls trying to unload larger contracts.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2004 well what's funny is that, Zito for example, got traded to Atlanta...i swear 3 days later they wanted to trade him again...that happened with Randy Johnson and another team...

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who can't stand the music. Whenever I turn on MVP and forget to mute the TV I get mad. It becomes a rush to get Dynasty mode to load and start a game so the hurting will stop. Guest Evolution Report post Posted May 24, 2004 Anyone have the XBox version of the game? I tried out the GameCube version at Best Buy and liked it, so I'm looking at possibly picking it up on the Box. Oh, and I thought I was only going to get to play a demo, but it turned out that I was lucky enough to play a full game, which was really neat.

I noticed last night while playing an interleague game against the Giants that if you rename the white power LFer of the Giants to "Barry Bonds" they'll call him "Bonds" when he comes to the plate. I thought that was a nice touch.
