they need to make a poster of that

Would it surprise you to know that I knew about PotA, I knew of that image of the Statue of Liberty on the beach, and yet when I saw the movie for the first time, it completely surprised me. I just never put two and two together.

Resident Evil had a pretty good ending, with the female protagonist in the middle of a destroyed Racoon City.

Heat.

One of the best endings to one of the most underrated movies of all time.

Yes. Yes.

I'd say that's one of the top.

It also gets my vote for the best gun battle of all time (in the middle of the movie, not the end). And the loudest one, too.

When speaking of Heat, which did have a great ending, it reminded me of Dog Day Afternoon, which also did.

This is getting a little off-topic, but Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho...

It is fantastic in the way that it can kill of the main character half-way through and still carry on to the finish in fine style.

Field Of Dreams - Everybody always told me that i'd shed a tear during the movie, i'm thinking "Me ? Cry during a movie ? Nonsense. Sure enough, the ending brought quite a few tears to my eyes.

Se7en - I FINALLY SAW THE DAMN MOVIE, I FINALLY KNOW THE DAMN ENDING, I CAN NOW SAY THAT MY LIFE IS COMPLETE. I HAVE NO REASON TO LIVE ANYMORE.

True Romance - I heard a while back that Christian Slater's character was suppose to die, but through the magicial world of reshoots... he lived.

converge, Event Horizon was a pretty bad movie.

The only other dispute I have is with Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back - as much as I love Kevin Smith, the ending was nothing great. I mean, nothing special. I mean, nothing to write home about. I just mean, nothing out of the ordinary.

Not even the post-credits scene did it.

I'm not saying that it sucked or anything, I'm just that there was really no twist or anything of the like, so the ending doesn't really stick out in your mind.

At least for that film.

*Whips out his Desert Eagle and shoots NBT in the face.

Anyway, my favorite ending would have to be 2fast 2 furious because the movie was over!

God, I hate that movie.

I thought Rules of Attraction sucked. But we're here to discuss the endings, so..

Fight Club's ending was just okay. But there was a flash of something I REALLY didn't need to see.

In Tarantino's original script he died and it turned out that Alabama didn't actually love him and just used him to get away from Oldman's character.

The director changed the ending because he 'thought the audience would fall in love with the couple'. Tarantino agreed that the ending worked better - but said that if he made the film he would have done it differently and thus his ending would have worked.

Although I would've gave the movie a "thumbs-down", the ending to The Rules Of Attraction ownz.

We're talking about worst endings to classics:

It's not a classic, but I was really enjoying Mystic River until the last half hour or so. Everything that was happening, it was just too much unbelievable things happening at the same time. The whole movie was built around coincidences, but that was the last straw as I just couldn't accept that as the conclusion to the story.

I liked the end of Schindler's List a fair bit, with everyone putting the stones on the coffin. Yeah, it's a bit hammering in the tearjerkingness, but it still moved me.

I also liked the end of North By Northwest, with the entire scene on Mt. Rushmore. Pretty cool for the 50s.

I liked in The Pianist how the credits just ran with him playing the piano. I found that incredibly touching.

And I loved the end of Adaptation.
