It doesn't matter if you're a boy or a girl :)

Mine must be many of Johnny Cash's songs, most of all "Hurt"

I don't get choked up easily, but here are the songs that bring me close.

John Lennon - Mother

REM - Everybody Hurts

Marvin Gaye - What's Going On

The Beatles - Here Comes The Sun (this one more for personal reasons)

The only song that really that comes close in breaking me out is Adam Song by Blink 182, but it does more for personal reasons than the actual song itself.

And The Music of the Night from The Phantom of the Opera

While I'm not American, the version of 'The Long Road' by Pearl Jam I've got, the intro with a reporter on 9/11 who breaks down on the air always gives me chills and a tear to my eye.

I've also gotten choked up during 'Cats in the Cradle' by Ughly Kid Joe for personal reasons.

Joe Strummer's version of Marley's "Redemption Song" makes me well-up when I hear it. Joe never had the greatest voice as far as pure singing goes, but GOD DAMN he does a perfect version. Knowing how Strummer and the rest of The Clash were influenced by Reggae and that he and Marley were gone too soon, it gets to me even more.

Give it a listen. You'll love it.

Even though it's country and I don't listen to that much country Garth Brook's "The Dance" always brings a tear to my eye.

Yeah, in one of our last conversations, my ex girlfriend told me to listen to that. Luckily I read the lyrics first, and now I avoid it whenever possible.

Other tear jerkers for me include

"Heart Of The Matter"-Don Henley

"If You're Gone"-Matchbox Twenty

"I Try"-Macy Gray

Strummers version of Redemption Song is much more powerful with Cash on it. No tears though.

The first time I heard a Tribute to Jack Johnson I cried. it incited about 99 different emotions out of me.

"With Arms Wide Open" by Creed, it was the favorite song of my friend, Shannon. She died from cancer last year. :(

No, I haven't seen it, but I've heard about it. I can't sit around all day waiting for MTV2 to POSSIBLY play the video. Maybe I should get a file sharing program so I can DL it.

"Let Down" by Radiohead. The lyrics themselves don't insight emotions as much as the melody of the song. The song builds and builds to this vocal peak and one cannot help to be moved. Try it sometime.

Karma Police hits me harder than Let Down does....Just thought I would say so.

Also, "You Won't Be Mine" and "Rest Stop" by Matchbox 20 have actually hit me pretty hard, not to the point of tears. "I Miss You" by Blink 182(Yeah......) actually had me crying, but not for the song, it was more the night of a breakup which i wasnt expecting, and it hit me hard, and yeah, the song just sorta got me there I guess.

Cash's hurt... such a powerful song

and this may be a little strange... but for some reason, I always get misty eyed over Rainbow Connection by Kermit the Frog... dont laugh! It's a beautiful song...

I also can't listen to "Oh Danny Boy" anymore. When I was a kid, I loved the song, then my grandfather died. The day he was buried, it wsa cold, rainy and foggy. Before we put him in the ground, we could hear bagpipes in the distance. Slowly, a man wearing a kilt and Tam O'Shanter could be seeing walking towards the family through the fog playing "Oh Danny Boy" on the 'pipes. It was so surreal, knowing my family's love for the song (Grandpap used to sing it all the time), and here we were burying him listening to perhaps his favourite song.

'Be Quiet & Drive (Far Away)' by The Deftones, it's just achingly painful for me due to my past...

'Just A Day' by Feeder also wells me up because it was the song that was playing when I left my hometown after saying bye to all my friends.

Bad Company ~ "Shooting Star" springs to mind rather quickly.

"Dance With My Father" by Luther Vandross

My parents aren't dead, but thinking about the idea does make me cry. I actually had to turn away from a costumer once when I was working because that song came on and I had to wipe away my tears. It might have something to do with me seeing my parnets in a casket in my head when my school(I went to a Catholic school) made my class go to a funeral for a janitor of the school or something,
