Okay...

First off, underwhelming show, and I don't think anyone's going to really argue that. They happen, I suppose, but when you get the feeling that there's a fed-wide sense of apathy, a lacklustre show isn't something you really want to see.

The triple no-show was extremely disappointing, "issues" with the stipulation aside. I'm basing that entierly on principle--we understand if you have to no-show, but goddamn, is it so hard to write even 200 words or something that'll take you about 10 minutes or less, just to avoid something like this? I normally don't complain about no-showing or anytime I percieve the fed as putting forth a lack of effort, since it makes me into an enormous hypocrite, but damn it. I'm the head booker, and sometimes this kind of stuff just needs to get said. Step it the fuck up, guys, please. I understand the fed is at a real low point right now, and I understand that everyone always has stuff to do, but when everyone seems to be going through the motions, the fed's boring, no-one has any fun, and that's when everything feels like a damn chore.

Now, I'll give credit where credit is due, though. The main event was very cool, and GSMS was definitely a surprise--'legend' names always get tossed around for those kind of matches, but 99% of the time, it's someone a little more unspectacular. I have to say the match blended between Tom and Mark pretty well, although I could still see a lot the rust, Stevens. <g> No discredit to Toxxic, either--what he wrote was very, very good, especially considering he didn't have a partner, but it was just one of those cases where one writer just doesn't have the experience to bring down a guy like Tom, who seems pretty refreshed after a month off. Keep working at it, though, because you really impress me.

Now, I'll try to get the card up ASAP. Unfortunately, I'm not really feeling it either, so... blah. I'll probably have an announcement later today or tomorrow regarding Mark's booking replacement as well.

As I said, I might have guessed with Grand Slam quitting booking, he might have been Tom's partner. Definatly up there with my guess of pant wetting levels of King/Edwin being back.

The Toxxic/Aecas stuff is really sweet. I'm loving the vibe they're making to make and the whole Aecas doing uber creepy magic tricks just adds to it. Keep going with this. Till I kill Toxxic on the next show that is.

My match was an unmotivated squash...bahhh.

Coy just gets funnier and funnier. He's definatly building up to the levels we've seen with Ejiro before hand. So don't worry Coyjiro, you've still got it and we're digging your character. And CPP? That's bloody classic!

And look, just because Dace isn't married to Kayin...damn you boy...:D

Nice to see someone bringing the communist jokes back in as well.

I don't know what acid trip you where on, but you had a damn good one it seems.

I await Tag Team goodness to talk about.

Duran is still playing uber heel evilness..good stuff.

And the main event... pops, returns, crowd heat, the fans go home happy. Hard to complain.

I just want to make it clear that I am not "back". As much fun as it was to help write this match, I still don;t have the time on a consistent basis to be a full-time active member of the fed. This was a one-time, special appearance.

Of course, now the door is open for a match here and there (Foley style) so if you want to run a plotline that ends with a match against the Commish... just PM me.

Awesome show. Grand Slam coming back, even if just for that match, was a pleasant surprise, and, Ejiro, you are the tsar of everything righteous.

Grabbing the Count by the head, Alan tosses him aside and through a door with his mighty rocker strength.

Impaled on a shard of the wood, The Count stumbles out from the pile before EXPLODING INTO DUST! OH SWEET MERCY JOSS WHEDON IS GOING TO SUE EVERYONE!

West looks at Clark with a raised eyebrow, “You have CPP: Crippling Puppet Phobia. I saw it on your web site.”

“You have web access?”

“Sure. I have DSL into my laptop. I have to block a whole lot of sites though because of the kids. Who knew that Bailey would have so many links to naked animal babes?”

Die. :P

You know what's funny, in a  sort of way? I don't know about HoT, but our match was turned in a good hour ahead of the deadline; I don't know what's going on with Thoth, but this is starting to get irritating.

With time difference, ours was probably in about a good 6 hours ahead of the deadline.

I haven't seen Thoth since the day before yesterday, unfortunately.

He's probably having extreme computer problems, so I'll tell you what. Send the matches to me, and I'll mark them and declare a winner, unless Thoth shows up before I get them and finish marking.

Alright, I've updated Smarkdown with the winner of HoT/Wild & Dangerous. Our incomprable tag champions retain, again, prolonging WC's stay with the SWF for at least one more show. :P

Landon, Todd, you guys must be getting pretty discouraged at this point. I'm going to try to have comments on this tomorrow, but I've got a mild headache annoying me right now. Plus I should probably read through the State of the Fed thread, too.

Well, I would be getting discouraged if I didn't realize that WC and Johnny are both a lot more talented than I am at this point. They're both extremely talented singles writers, and as a team, they're the best in the fed by far.

Besides, I'm writing like shit right now anyway so I'm not surprised I haven't won a match yet that wasn't by no-show. I might have to take a break for a while if something doesn't change.

Don't get discouraged Todd. The whole 'trick' to winning matches around here is figuring out what you're good at putting together and work towards your strengths as best you can. Wildchild and Johnny and absolutely fantastic at putting together spotastic matches so its hard to beat them at a tornado tag match. Danny is great at putting together All Japan style matches with lots of strike based psychology and submissions. The way to get ahead is to find out what you do well and work from there despite the stipulations and such at first and then work out from that formula. I must have written 20 or so limb based psychology winning matches before I had the confidence to branch out with a spot fest that was actually good.

Anyway... don't get discouraged. Do what you do well and improve on that. When you get your water wings is when you start the grand experimentation.

It would have helped if you'd wrote a tornado tag match Todd. :P Nah, just kidding...but I'm not discouraged. I didn't want those belts anyway.

...

Todd...I feel sorry for ya buddy. Looking at your list of opponents, you've been thrown in at the deep end as much as I have...since we joined the Unnamed, I guess that's placed us higher up the card than we are maybe ready for.

Still, I certainly don't think your matches aren't good enough to be winners...far from it, you've handed me my ass plenty of times in the past. I just think you need to read over other matches and pick up little things that the vets do, cause that's what I'm trying to do.

Also Goodear's got a point about styles...if you could do something with the Royal character to play up the fact he's a technical master that'd help, because you write those spots very well. The more you concentrate on writing your own style, the better you'll become.
