Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 29, 2004 You can't put out a throwaway forgone conclusion on a PPV in 2004. Plus, Shelton going ten minutes with men that Kane and Orton beat in three won't help him at all. Does anyone expect Shelton to mow through a guy like Kane? I expect him to be at least as competant as Orton.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Choken, blow off feuds at Backlash and set up new one's for JD? Agreed, but ahh...Judgment Day is a Smackdown! PPV. Have the blowoff for Y2J/Christian at Bad Blood.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 29, 2004 I never said start new feuds for JD...I said Bad Blood...if not...it was a typo... You could string out the Jericho/X thing but i'd rather not. My bet is that Jericho goes over X (be it at BB or BL) and Benoit drops the title at Blood...and The CVC reunite and face Evolution at 'Slam.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 29, 2004 If the Chris Jericho/Christian feud is blowing-off at Bad Blood, or even if it isn't (Backlash), something really needs to happen there - Chris Jericho squashing lower/mid-card heels and Christian and Trish doing things to spite him just doesn't cut it. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 29, 2004 well...I wouldn't mind a Jericho/Benjamin match myself but no...AGAIN 5-6 meaningful matches is better then 7-8 matches with 4-5 thrown together. So far only 3 matches have been built(orton/foley, shawn/benoit and Vitamin C)...The Evolution/Superheros and Edge/Rhyno additions are no-brainers...a womans title match isn't hard to set up...All they need to do is get Kane and Shelton on... You're right, this isn't one of the big five (now four), so knowing WWE, they're just going to fill the card with matches made on Heat and matches that should've happened but didn't get built, like a World Tag Team Championship match, but I can't that, with it involving Flair and Batista, just thrown in there. But they'll probably pull a Bradshaw/Rhyno. They also might not believe that buyrates will exactly soar with a limited number of matches on the card in the hands of the casual fans, but, as you said, if more effort is put into them, i.e. they are given more time and more attention, and the casual fans knew that, then we wouldn't have a problem. Personally, I'm looking forward to Backlash, as long as they do indeed either fill the card with a shit-load of build, or keep it small, match quantity-wise, and give them the attention that they need, considering that there are two blow-off matches on there already. deancoles 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 I'd put Tajiri as a face and do Tajiri/Benjamin as the opening match on the card.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Are we destined for a retarded finish to the main event because its in Canada? niko
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 After tonight, hopefully we'll begin a build to some meaningful stuff. Kane/Jericho would be meaningful. He took out his knee. Christian hides like a pussy behind Kane to avoid Y2J. Jericho has Trish in his grasp, about to deck her, kane interferes, etc. Plus, who else would Kane wrestle? THIS MAKES SENSE. It also frees up another GOOD match between say, Shelton and Christian...where both can look good, it's billed as "an important match as both look to climb the ladder", its entertaining, fills up more time, and puts someone over, and another with a strong performance in a loss. Whether or not Shelton gets over will not be decided by the fans comparing and contrasting how long it took for him to beat his opponants as compared to Orton. Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 29, 2004 It's Chris Benoit VS Shawn Michaels in Canada - think about it. Who knows what could happen?

muzz 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 I'd put Tajiri as a face and do Tajiri/Benjamin as the opening match on the card. If they gave it enough time, I'd be a very happy boy.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 29, 2004 well if we are putting meaningless matches on there for the sake of PADDING the card... Give us Matt/Lance PT. 2 while we're at it...Hell...Palumbo/Atrain as well.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 30, 2004 Kane is pretty screwed at the moment - they can't have The Undertaker VS Kane at Backlash, and anywhere else would suck. But there's really no need to put him over so much anymore, unless the one thing that could happen is happening.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 Confirmed: Benoit vs. HHH vs. HBK Kane vs. Edge Christian vs. Chris Jericho Randy Orton vs. Mick Foley After that... ?

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 Triple H Vs. Shawn Michaels Vs. Chris Benoit I DO NOT think this will stand...It SHOULDN'T anyway, as Benoit/HBK in FUCKING CANADA would be better than redoing the (excellent) WM main event. I'd hope to see Benjamin/HHH at the PPV. They fucked themselves tonight, tho. EDGE Vs. KANE ?!?!? What is this shit? Should've built the midcard matches better for more durability, instead of blowing their load for Y2J/Christian and Edge/Kane. Where does Benjamin fit in now? Against old man Flair? Shitty Batista? Yay.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 I don't mind Edge / Kane, I'm rather intrigued by that match. I could do without the same fucking match from the last PPV. I hate that back to back shit. I'd rather seeing Benoit Vs. HHH than the same fucking 3 way.
spiny norman 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 What about if they add Benjamin, make it a four-way? In a way it makes sense in storyline terms as Benjamin has bugger all to do and beat the guy who supposedly has every right to be in the title match, thus surely Benjamin has every right to be in the title match. But on the flip side it's a little early to put Benjamin in the title match and it will be a big push just out of the blue. But I have no idea what else they can do with him. He should be in some feud with Evolution, but HHH has the World Title match, Orton has Foley and to put Benjamin in a Tag Title match would be counter-productive. What can they do with him?
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted March 30, 2004 Give Benjamin a placeholder match with a mid-carder (maybe Rhyno?), put him over strong. Maybe have him piss off Evolution and have Batista come out and flatten him during the match, and still have him win. Lets him continue an issue with Evolution, get a win, and progress on. niko
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 30, 2004 Kane's been one of the stronger booked guys on RAW, and aside from Undertaker, no one's beat him really strongily. It'll launch off Edge's return rather quickly. As much as I hate it, I think the three-way is going to stand. I really don't see much options for Triple H. But they're going to kill Canada if Benoit doesn't go over.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 31, 2004 It is unbelievable for Edge to go over on Kane, but hey, it'll help him for the supposed feud with Triple H, which would almost/make him a shoe-in to beat The Game. Kane VS Edge fills the card, so what to do with Triple H? Would it kill them to keep him off the card and let Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels go at it? Would it? Michrome 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2004 It's going to be: HHH vs. Shawn vs. Benoit Orton vs. Foley Flair/Batista vs. Shelton/Cade Kane vs. Edge Jericho vs. Christian Victoria vs. Molly Add another throwaway match and you have the card.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 31, 2004 HHH vs. Shawn vs. Benoit Orton vs. Foley Flair/Batista vs. Shelton/Cade Kane vs. Edge Jericho vs. Christian Victoria vs. Molly With the right build for those matches (leave it at that!), Backlash could be great. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 31, 2004 cade? Why not Hurricane since they sorta had a connection...Just have rosey get punked out and Benjamin becomes the "surprise" partner...
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted March 31, 2004 Benjamin should be a singles competitor. They just put him over HHH. its a huge step backwards to put him with Cade. Thats just horrible. I like Hurricane, but thats not much better. niko
Guest Goodear Report post Posted March 31, 2004 Right, sending Benji back into a tag team right away makes very little sense at this time, especially coming off a win of that magnitude. They would be better off just forgetting about defending the tag straps and have Shelton versus either Flair or Batista and be done with it.
TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2004 It's going to be: HHH vs. Shawn vs. Benoit Orton vs. Foley Flair/Batista vs. Shelton/Cade Kane vs. Edge Jericho vs. Christian Victoria vs. Molly There are only two matches on that card I'd want to see. Orton vs. Foley Christian vs. Jericho everything else looks to be decent, but not worth paying $35. I'd be disappointed in a Triple Threat for the Title. I'm sick of HBK and HHH. Not to mention that I HATE Edge nearly as much as HHH. Where are the "BIG SHAKEUPS" that the draft was supposed to bring?
