Ripper 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 Okay, I like the song and all and Em's is pretty hot. But thats not what impressed me. What impressed me was the fact that the rest of the group have really REALLY improved past that crap they used to do. Most impressive to me was Bizarre who I passionately hate usually, but he actually *gasp* rapped on the beat this time. All in all it is a hilarious song. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 The video and song are amusing enough. I'm not really into rap, but there's usually a reason that only one guy from a group makes it big, meaning, I haven't been that impressed with D12
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 While Em is clearly the most talented member of the group, I would also attribute 99% of the attention D12 gets going to him because he's Eminem, plain and simple. It doesn't matter how much the rest of the group improves, Em is always going to overshadow the rest of them because of who he is. That's why you've gotta give the group props for even being mature enough to go through with the whole concept of the song and video. Most groups end up nearly breaking up over the same issue, but these guys have turned it into a positive and a hit song and video, to boot.
Mole 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 Most impressive to me was Bizarre who I passionately hate usually, but he actually *gasp* rapped on the beat this time. I second that one. I HATE Bizarre and I always thought he was one of the worst rappers ever. Then he comes on this song and actually raps, instead of his usual talking.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted March 26, 2004 Too bad this is the "funny" song that is only released as an "attention getting" single. I am sure that the rest of the album will sound nothing like this one.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 I don't care if the songs don'T sound like that. But the point is that they all sound like they know how to ride a beat better. That is very important. I enjoyed the Devil's Night album, but the problem was there were way to many tracks where they basically just ignored the beat and were all over the place (Bizarre sounded like he was just talking and didn't care where the beat was). If they got better, it would actually be an album I would get, because I really like the producers they had on the first album and will probably have the same here. I am sure that the rest of the album will sound nothing like this one. And you'd rather have an album with songs that all sound the same? I usually like some variety in my music, even when it comes to a single album. Groups that rely on the same type of formula for every song often get stagnant and stale before long. Guest Dids Report post Posted March 26, 2004 There's a Em bookleg remix album that I've found that features "Purple Pills" with the beat from "You Be Illin". It's dope as fuck.

I've got "Purple Pills" against Depeche Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough". It's also fope as duck.

I am sure that the rest of the album will sound nothing like this one. You know...you could say the exact same thing for Eminem's albums. The first video is always goofy and attention getting. The difference is that he has major league talent to fill out the rest of the album too...

Guest Adrian 3:16 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 I want Eminem's #1 fan, AngleSault to come into this thread. Anglesault should be banned from participating in any hip-hop related discussion, EVER. That being said, this song is hot garbage. Corny as fuck- and I liked Devil's Night by the way. Bizarre's 50 impersonation in the video was pretty funny though.
ant_7000 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 Devil's night was ok, wasn't all that and it didn't have no replay value. Bizzare ruined a couple of songs, although he's funny at times. I don't know if Bizzare raps that way on purpose or he really does rap like that.
