RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 I've been debating making a Thread for CSI. For one, I figured someone already did it and I could just bump that sucker up. But I looked for one and couldn't find it, which leads to "Secondly". Secondly, if there wasn't a whole lot of talk about CSI here, then starting up a thread would be pointless as no one would talk about it. Then I saw tonights episode on SpikeTV and I figured this show was too whacky not to talk about it on a regular basis. It was about a girl who had a sorta electra-complex and ended up killing her mother (who left them 5 years ago). The daughter had taken the "motherly" role (looking after her brother, cooking diner, etc) to the point of thinking she was pregnant with her fathers baby (and her body reacted accordingly - lactating, specifically), so when she saw her mother back and wooing Daddy she went nuts and killed her with a frying pan. How can I not talk about that?!?! The 'other' storyline had Joey FN Slotnick as a Car salesman who killed "the top seller" by putting snake poison in his coffee. Both were pretty obvious by the way CSI sets their shows up. When I first saw the daughter come home I said "She did it" because the writers have a nasty habit of swerving you so you naturally take the least likely suspect. However, Wednesday I watched an episode where a Rape Victim ended up dying because the Accused killed her before she could testify. So, while the show can be predictable sometimes, it'll throw you a curveball. But shit, I don't watch it (primarily) for the mystery, I watch it for the characters and how they interact with the victims, suspects, and with each other. Gil Grissom is one of my favourite characters on television today. That man is smooth, and quite the punny bastard, might I add. Jorja Fox - quite the apropos name - is just... DAMN! She's not really conventionally attractive or "hot", and I constantly ponder what makes her so damn spanktacular... but then I just end up accepting it and enjoy the Foxy. Jim Brass is nearing Gil Grissom levels of godliness and Warrick is just the man. Anyways, what makes me really lucky is that I can watch this show 4 days a week (Thursdays, brand new eps. on CTV, Friday on Spike, Sat and Sun on Showcase where they just started Season 1 2 weeks ago, and occasionally Wednesdays on CBS when they're pushed back because of sports). So even if there may not be a lot of chatter going on in here from others, I don't think this will be buried anytime soon.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 CSI is one of my favorite shows. Im guessing that a lot of people dont watch CSI around here in favor of Smackdown, but I don't know. This season has been pretty dumb though. The furry animal sex one was one of the stupidest episodes in the series. I know that really happens but it was still quite stupid. And Grissom needs to dump the beard. I don't like CSI Miami because I don't really like David Caruso and the rest of the cast didn't do anything for me. Im tentatively looking forward to CSI NY, but I haven't heard anything about the cast yet.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 My favorite episode is still "The Chaos Theory" from Episode 2... even though reading the title you could possibly guess the ending, it was so great watching it unravel... I love watching the old seasons on Spike, because I barely catch the new ones. I would love to buy the DVDs if they weren't so damn expensive around here. I didn't get to see the end of the episode tonight that you speak of...or at least, I wasn't paying attention when they revealed the daughter did it, but it was who I was suspecting. One of the curveball type ones was the school bully getting killed, and the episode that had the "rebirth" on it... man...that was just freaky and I had a hard time watching it. Still-- awesome show. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 I find it funny that CSI is the most popular show in America, but a thread just began for it at TSM. Its on the same time as Smackdown (and CSI Miami is on the same time as RAW). I expect CSI NY to be on the same time as..uh..well they probably won't stick it on Saturday night at 10 vs Velocity so CSI NY probably won't go up against WWE programming. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 I really enjoyed the CSI: Miami and LV crossover w/ the Limo driver and the kid. I don't think I am ready for Miami, since I'll just compare them to LV and say "they're not as good"...
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 I've never watched an episode of either CSI: LV or MIA, but CSI: NY has me interested and I probably will watch when it begins.
Max Danger 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 I love CSI, the original, but I absolutely HATE CSI: Miami. I think it's mainly David Caruso, but all the other actors on there are just not good. The Las Vegas version just has more dynamic and interesting characters.

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 I really enjoyed the CSI: Miami and LV crossover w/ the Limo driver and the kid. I don't think I am ready for Miami, since I'll just compare them to LV and say "they're not as good"... CSI Miami>CSI The Original The only shows I really watch on TV these days are are all "Cop Drama". CSI and it's spinoffs, Without A Trace (feat. Stephen Quadros....for one episode), and Law And Order when I get a chance. It's kinda weird actually.
Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 First let me say I love this show. Gil Grissom and Catharine Willows(fapfapfap) are two of the best characters on TV... though Grissom really should rid his face of the small animal clinging to it. However, as wacky as some of the plots are(it's TV, folks), what pisses me off is that the show uses forensic science methods that are impossible to do in real life. They supposedly have real CSIs as consultants on the show, but when I see at least four scientific impossibilities per season I start to wonder. I have also never understood why the CSI team talks to witnesses. A criminalist NEVER talks to a witness or suspect. Apart from those annoying little details, the show is a ton of fun, as is its spinoff(I LIKE Horatio Caine, alright?). Oh, and some CSI: NY casting news: Vanessa Ferlito has been cast in the show. You might know her as Jack's girlfriend from this season of 24. ... and Melina Kankaredes has been casr as well. I think most of us know her from Providence. Oh, and CSI: NY will focus on two main investigators(Sinese and Kankredes) rather than a group like its predecessors.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Last night I watched an episode from the first season where two friends get high off some tea and one ends up killing the other. Watching Grissom get all up in some punks face (drug dealer, actually) was fucking AWESOME. "You think we're actually here to arrest you for drug dealing you lil punk?!". Catherines words to the only dude who's name I don't know (I call em Tex) about thinking for himself and how Grissom is not always right was cool. But the thing that totally put this episode over was Gil riding on the roller coaster at the end. That was fucking intense and beautiful. I fucking love it. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 The episode last night was about a woman who was buried in the concrete foundation of a house. Immediately when the wife of the suspect (the womans boyfriend at the time) answered the door I said "Well, she clearly did it". Naturally, she didn't clearly do it and naturally, she did it. I love this show, and it doesn't really bother me that she did it, its just... jesus christ, do they always do something like this??? Tex crying after being held at gun-point was a nice touch. The reaction of the lab geek to finding out Catherine was a stripper was GOLDEN and I love the way she's not ashamed of it. "Maybe I saw you dance" "No you didn't" "How do you know?" "Cause you would have remembered". Warrick and Brass' feud right now rules. It's fun seeing them all up in each others face in one season and then a few days later in another season they're fine. The scuffle with the cop and Warrick where Grissom (~!) breaks it up and gets in Brass' face fucking rocked (~!) And what's this with Grissom and the laaaaaaadies (~!?) Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Wait till you see the episodes where Brass and Nick(or TEX~! as you call him) become murder suspects. Great episodes. Oh, and have you seen the guy who runs the day shift of CSI yet, named Eckley? He is the PERFECT anti-Grissom dickhole. As far as Grissom and the ladies go he has never had much intrest in Catherine, but in a recent ep he realized he has a thing for Sara when a girl that could be her twin gets killed. Another great episode. Since you like the show it's worth mentioning that there are CSI novels too, all written by Max Allan Collins. Pretty good for books based on a TV show. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2004 Holy Crap that was an awesome episode. Grissom getting choked and selling it like a fucking king was awesome. Really spooky stuff with them peeling back the layers of this EVIL dead guy (Whom I call "Streetfightin Man"); thus making him scarier after-death than anything they could have done before. The showdown (albeit a short one) between Brass and SFM was fucking awesome. "Oh that Brass, he's got a pair" In other news, HOW THE FUCK DID I MISS GINA TORRES ON CSI?!
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2004 The episode last night (not on Spike, which I missed... stupid UFC) that I watched was the one with Grissoms mentor "selling out". That was such a fucking awesome episode where he (mentor) takes down all the crew and Grissom just stands on the sidelines until he finally takes the stand and reads the lips of the prosecutor and incriminates the movie star. Fucking AWESOME shit.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Ah, CSI. I never talk about it, simply because my family goes over it so much at home (all CSI fans) so it's why I never went about it here. It's just too much to talk about it with the family, then when everythings settled (any questions that another family member can answer), get back here and type it down, cause you've got it out of your system. Personally, I found near twin one (Sara) highly disturbing just because of Grissom's speech at the end to the Doctor (who walked) and then seeing Sara right there with the look of "holy shit". Although, I'm thinking Grissom and her hook up somewhere along the lines. As you said Rudo, they throw curveballs all the time and still have it happen at the end. Which means that Grissom will get her... I think. Or at least have a fling. Another one I liked was Grissom making that recommendation for Fox (think that's who, might be wrong) to take over for him, but finding out she got "payment" (it was from her divorced husband, but he's apart of a major crime investigation, so its a big no-no) of like $10000 on the side and then watch him practically go into shock and want to smack her for being so stupid. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 The one last night was pretty good, but very strange. It was about street racer who killed another street racer and a poker player who died from lead poisoning (which was from eating Chocolate). Both conclusions were pretty lacklustre, but I still really enjoyed it cause -shit- the characters are awesome and Waricks reaction to finding out that Grissom was a bit of a poker player was sweet. The ending of the street racer plot was predictable...but the lead poisoning from the chocolate...I just didn't know where that story was going. I like some of the swerves... the episode with the women dying in the lake and the CSI team revealing that she was married and was having an affair had the craziest ending ever, and came as a complete shock to me. I won't give it away if people have seen it, but it was just awesome to see it all come together.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 WHOO HOOO! I just discovered that SHOWCASE ACTION~! shows CSI 5 days a week SOOOOO HAPPPY!!!!!
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 Ok, here's my recommendation... my words of wisdom, if you will.... Don't watch 5 episodes of CSI in a row, cause by the 5th one you'll be mixing up cases. Rented CSI Season 1 disc 3 and 4 (cause 1 and 2 were out, bastard.... YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!) and I'm done disk 3. I always forget that most shows go the full season which means a ton of disks (*cries for Firefly*), but what really gets my goat is that there's no commentary on these episodes (are there?). Anywho, when Sara said "Do you want to sleep with me" to Grissom, I actually paused the show and freaked out. Then, after about a minute, I turned it back on and it was for a different reason (DAMN! Is there some sexual tension there or what?!) The true mark of a great show is if you yell at the screen when it's on. No one is in the room, there's no real reason to do it, but you see find yourself shouting out "YEAH! WAAAAAAAARIIIIIICK! WHAT!! WARRICK~! YEAH~! HE'S DA MAN! SMOOTH AS SILK BAYBAY!" or "Gris-SOME~! BOY! ICE MAN! ICE MAN! LET THAT EVIDENCE TALK! LAY THAT EVIDENCE DOWN! GRISSOM!!!" and, my favourite, "SARA SIDLE! SSSSSSIDLE! Why won't you let someone in? You've been hurt, I know baybay, but you can't go through life like this, girl. You try to be cold... like ice... but there's a fire in there baby, let it out!" RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Holy Crap that was a freaky episode. The end there, with the kid... and the matches, and the crazy ahoyhoy. The word game fat dude was a cool lil piece, but neither episode had this sense of urgency.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2004 I have a question. Does Nick have problems? Warrick has gambling. Grissom has his hearing. Catherine has her ex. Sara has her 'love life'. What does Nick have??

Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2004 I have a question. Does Nick have problems? Warrick has gambling. Grissom has his hearing. Catherine has her ex. Sara has her 'love life'. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 That was one of my favourite episodes. Archie and Gregs lil feud with Greg getting jealous cause Nick took Archie out in the field instead of him was fucking FARBULORS. Warrick's decent and then climb back was awesome. KEITH FN DAVID as the broken father. Grissom, who I expected to be bringing more hate cause it was a kid, played it cool to the touch and it still fucking worked. No ladies, but that's ok. Archie is a good replacement... "Hey Archie, what star trek was it with the guy with the forehead and the time travel" "Are you talking about Star Trek TNG, DS9, Voyager... maybe Farscape?" RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2004 Ok.. WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! I just watched the episode where Grissom fucks Lady Heather and I just FREAKED OUT. Spoilers. They killed off Eddie, Catherine has a breakdown, and Brass becomes a PIMP. WHAT THE FUCK?! But the thing that freaked me out the most, the same actor who portrayed Lady Heather (Clarke...) fucked MAL in Firefly. So what we have here is my two personal GODS in television fucking a chick I don't find particularly attractive. WHAT THE FUCK?!
