MrRant Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Since we can turn avatars/sigs off when we are at work, avoid certain forums etc but unfortunately swearing, certain words like pussy etc in the topic titles can't be avoided. Perhaps there could be a rule to just not swear in the topic titles of threads? Pretty minor request I think as they can swear it up in the thread itself.
Youth N Asia Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I'll agree. There shouldn't be anything overly vulgar in the heading.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 We shouldn't condone you people slacking off at work. Swearing must stay to keep you procrastinating ma'fuckers in line. whoa, did I say fuck?
Nevermortal Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 This would curb 50% of the topics I start. Nay, I say.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I'd agree for every folder BUT HD
MrRant Posted March 31, 2004 Author Report Posted March 31, 2004 But we still have to scroll through HD. Put it in the subtitle then.
The Metal Maniac Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Oh, for fucks' sake. I'll defend my right to swear a blue streak until my dying fucking day. But we still have to scroll through HD. No you don't. Get the fuck back to work.
DerangedHermit Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I should probably write a counter-topic: FUCK THAT SHIT.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Perhaps you shouldn't be viewing TSM while at work, hippie. I visit this place all the time while on the job and haven't gotten fired (yet...)
Lil' Bitch Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Nay for me as well. *appreciates his potty fingers
Dr. Tom Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 If you can turn off sigs and avatars at work (which I do), can't you also avoid clicking on a topic with a curse word in it? Really, most of us are adults here. I see no problems with swearing in topic titles.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Oh no, my boss just walked in and yelled at me for viewing the "Weird Shit You've Been Privy To" thread. He said he wouldn't have a problem with me skipping my responsibilities if I was reading the "When She's Thirteen" thread, but now I have to see him in his office in 5 minutes. Dam, err, Darn you potty-mouths!...

Dam, err, Darn you potty-mouths!... The only complaint I would have is if people started a topic with just "Fuck...". It probably never happend, but that's just a small nitpick. Im all for foul language, esxcept the poster who is apparently 8 years old from a few weeks ago.

Eh....but I find your posts interesting, so it doesn't bother me Hypocrite be thy name. I know.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Heh, if cursing ever gets frowned upon, I'll be banned in minutes. It's really awful how much I type the word fuck, but I say it aloud about a thousand more times than I write it in a day. I've cussed fluently since childhood.
PLAGIARISM! Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Has 'twat' gone across the pond yet? If so, this can fuck off. Let's ban posting.
MrRant Posted April 1, 2004 Author Report Posted April 1, 2004 Cursing is fine in posts and within the thread itself. I assumed the minor thing of not doing it in the title of topics was within the realm of ability of the forum members and would only take minor forethought and probably wouldn't inconvience anyone with at least honeybee intelligence. I overestimated.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Bzzzzzzzzz....*wiggle* Shitfuck.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Cursing is fine in posts and within the thread itself. I overestimated. Nice work. Swearing in topic titles, you'd think, shouldn't be allowed, but really, if you have the power to view it in topic titles to start with, then you view it in the threads themselves.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 What if you think you're clicking on a presumably nice clean work safe thread, and lo, some jerk writes vulgar grafitti everywhere? The gruff vernacular in the titles could warn you of such an employment-related faux pas. I realize I'm going overboard here, I'm just a proponent of the "slippery slope" theory against messageboard workplace viewing sanitation.
SamoaRowe Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Yeah, I check this board from school sometimes and I tend to blush a lot.
