Family Guy primed for a 2005 return

Recommended Posts

Nervous-schmervous, AoO. Only the first season (one of four) was done in squiggle vision.

The rest is all flash animation. Clean and clear.

The show is hilarious, and it's being taken off the air. Next sunday, (not this coming one, but next one) will have futurama in it's slot. Hey, that makes SIX episodes of Futurama a week, of course we need that...

Simpsons hasn't gone down the drain so fuck you "waaaah it's not as great as it once was so it's total crap" people.

Simpsons HASN'T gone down the drain?!?!?

Haven't heard that one :P

Personally, I can't watch it anymore cause it saddens me to see the current state of my favorite show of all-time but to each his own...

Anyway, on-topic, hopefully Family Guy can come back as good as ever and with a permanent time slot.

A majority of the writers are back. Besides, Seth got new writers before season 3, so it's not like the writers dictate anything.

Other than Seth and Mila none of the voice actors have a reason to pass on it. Seth and Mila aren't exactly big stars and they loved working on it, so there's no reason to believe they won't.

I've heard actors talk about things like this before. They said that voiceover work is the easiest and best paying in the industry. I am saying that they BOTH will be back.

WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also...Fuck Fox.

I agree with both statements

As do I. Fox is probably the most rediculous network on television.

Wait, I forgot UPN.

First off, this is no longer April fools day.....second off nobody would believe that UPN is an actual network.....

yeah really, Public Access gets better ratings then UPN...better shows, too..

as for 'Family Guy', i love it...i don't see it as much as i like, but when i do, i enjoy it...i like to think of it as "Simpsons" meets "Monty Python" in that the jokes often come completely out of left field and rarely makes sense to the situation, but the complete absurdity makes me laugh. that's just me.

as for the 'Simpsons' not being funny anymore...well, i must not be watching the same episodes as the rest of you, 'cause i've like the current season so far...buncha fair-weather fans...watch, if the "Simpsons" goes thorough a revival and ratings increase, everyone on this board will jump on the bandwagon again...fuckin' sheep...

I just saw the one where they make fun of George Lucas and Homer & Marge get drunk...same quality it's been for the past couple of years...nowhere near as good as it was.

Sorry netslob...geez, don't take it personally.

If it does go through a revival like you say (in other words, quality increase) I will definitely start watching again. It has nothing to do about jumping on the bandwagon and I couldn't care less about ratings even though the ratings for Simpsons have always been good to this day. I'm still a Simpsons fan (my room is just Simpsons and wrestling memorabilia)...just not of the past 4-5 seasons. I've watched it on and off and, when I do catch it, I'm usually disappointed.

My friends are divided on this subject too (50% stopped watching, 50% still do)

Are you telling me that Homer screaming, getting a random job, screaming more, show ending is hilarious?

Well yeah, if the show's good again it would make sense to start watching. How that would make anyone a sheep is beyond me

Here is a bit from IGN.

http://dvd.ign.com/articles/556/556562p1.html?fromint=1

October 12, 2004 - The Family Guy is getting closer and closer to fruition, and it looks like Fox will be the first-run network of choice. When we first learned that the show was coming back, series creator Seth MacFarlane wasn't sure if the new episodes would initially air on Fox, or go straight to Cartoon Network, where the show found a new lease on life.

Well, MacFarlane appeared on the Dr. Drew Pinsky's Los Angeles radio show Loveline late last month and said that Fox would be the network, and it could begin airing the new episodes as early as March of 2005, or possibly May of 05.

Here's the title list of upcoming Family Guy episodes:

#4ACX01 - North by North Quahog

#4ACX02 - Fast Times at Buddy Cianci High

#4ACX03 - Don't Make Me Over

#4ACX04 - Blind Ambition

#4ACX05 - Stewie B. Goode (Part I)

#4ACX06 - Bango Was His Name Oh (Part II)

#4ACX07 - Stu & Stewie's Excellent Adventure (Part III)

#4ACX08 - The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire

#4ACX09 - Petarded

#4ACX010 - Brian the Bachelor

#4ACX011 - 8 Simple Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter

#4ACX012 - Breaking Out Is Hard to Do

#4ACX013 - Model Misbehavior

Gotta love the title of episode 11. All we can say is, welcome back.

New Episodes To Air In March 2005?

Wednesday, September 29, 2004

On last night's Loveline, Seth MacFarlane made mention that Fox could air the new episodes as early as March of 2005. Apparently they're trying to start airing episodes in either May or March.

From what I've heard of American Dad, it seems like the exact same thing as Family Guy, withj ust different chracter roles.

Have you watched the 6 minute pilot that is online yet?

I think it will be the same type of humor, only with a twist what with the war on terror theme, etc... I really liked what I saw of the "Dad" character, I forget his name.

Wasn't it Stan Smith?

I wonder who "Stu" is in the three-parter... time-traveling adult Stewie maybe?

Maybe it's Stewie's semen counterpart from that one episode.

And this show will flop again because they will only have their core audience behind it. This means that time slots will change randomly and it will get cancelled again. DVD sales will be hot forever and all this but it will go dodo style and never come back this time.

But I am all about some new episodes for sure.

I haven't, actually. Damn 56k connection.

I'm not knocking the series, I'm just questioning the point of having two very similar shows by the same guy going at the same time. It didn't work with Futurama and the Simpsons, and they were much more different than Family Guy and American Dad look to be. Hell, I didn't even really get to appreciate Futurama until after I stopped watching the Simpsons.

That's the movie they were planning on doing before Fox brought the show back.

Fox was impressed by the Cartoon Network ratings and DVD sales enough to bring it back, so I don't see them dicking it around again. I think they will now give Family Guy a fair chance to prove itself. There's no reason why the show can't expand the audience, unless Fox wants it to fail again.

However, one thing that has me worried is that Fox is sticking it into their " year round TV schedule" experiment instead of in the Fall schedule. This year round thing hasn't really been proven succesful, yet.

I'll go out on a limb and predict that Family Guy will be around for quite some time this time. Truth be told, the show has a LOT more fans now, than it did when it actually aired.

I think it's going to shock a lot of people.
