Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 It is in Dayton though. Plus it's following on the heels of all of this bad publicity and such.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Les Thatcher presented Samoa Joe with a the new ROH world Heavyweight Championship. I assume Joe won, but I haven't got an offical result yet. Wow. I was just skimming through this page of the thread and thought I saw that Les Thatcher had defeated Samoa Joe.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Samoa Joe wrestled CM Punk to 60 minute draw. Homicide comes to the ring and he takes the belt to the back. Fans are chanting thank you and MOTY C.M. Punk goes 60 minutes with Chris Hero last night, and 60 minutes with Samoa Joe tonight. That's insane.
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Joe did 60 minutes? That's amazing. Go Joe. Happy he retained. The rest of the card sounds disappointing, except for Homicide beating the crap out of jobbers. NOBODY should be saving Matt Stryker, anyways. They should be forcing him to pluck those damn eyebrows. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 CM Punk and Joe embraced in the middle of the ring, and they held the belt together Jack Evans submitted to eliminate Generation Next in the Submission part of Ultimate Endurance next is the Scramble part with Steel and Cabana vs. Maff and Whitmer vs. Jay and Mark Briscoe. Briscoes were eliminated in the scramble match, setting up the Saints vs. Prophecy anything goes. Prophecy beat the Saints to win in a falls cout anywhere match to win The Ultimate Endurance. Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 13, 2004 I just got back from the show and it was great. Samoa Joe and C.M punk went 60 minutes and the crowd (looked about 500) uninamously praised it as MATCH OF THE YEAR. The Ultimate Tag Team Endurance match was very fun as YOURS TRUELY was right in the middle of the chaos (i'm pretty sure I'm all over the video during this match). The rest of the card was VERY good; nothing to write home about but served its intentions of entertaining.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Samoa Joe Vs. CM Punk sounds great. I never would have thought Samoa Joe could go 60 or that Punk could do it on 2 straight nights. Can't wait to see that one...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 13, 2004 It was something remarkable, with the exception of one short 5 minute period with a fan (one of the greatest impromptu segments ever mind you), it was 55 minutes of sheer BRUTALITY. I had never seen PUNK live and i am ready to say he may very well be the best entertainer i've never witnessed live in my wrestling watching career and i've seen some of the greats. DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 This show sounds pretty good. I better start saving up some cash so I can watch "55 minutes of sheer brutality" on film. And what's up with GenNext getting eliminated so fast in the Tag Match? You'd think the big new Heel Group would put up a better showing than that.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 It was one injured guy fighting alone and just bumping for 3 bigtime tag teams. He apparently took an absolute shitkicking.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Yep He did some really nasty bumps. I should give Full ratings Carnage Crew Vs Ring Crew Express- ** (fun spotty bumpfest to get crowd amped) Do or Die Match J.T Stahr and TJ Dalton Vs Ala Hussein and Sean Osbourne -Homicide comes out and tears them apart, J.T Stahr does a nasty fork spot. - Homicide looks like a New Jack rip off but with a legit mean streak- 6 Man Mayhem Jimmy "Huss" Jacobs (very over) Vs Rainman Vs Caprice Coleman Vs Loc Vs Matt Sydal Vs Delirious-***1/4 -Very fun match with some nice spots Impromptu Six Man Tag Match Matt Stryker, John Walters and Rave Vs Gen. Next (Strong, Shelley, Aries). Evans takes a SICK bump and Stryker gushes loads. Very good old school tag match with a really hot crowd. ***3/4 4 Way Dance Hydro Vs Chad Collyner Vs Superstar Steve Vs Ray Gordy I wasn't really impressed with these guys and either was the crowd. Nice finishing sequence though **1/2 ROH Title Match Samoa Joe Vs CM PUNK The greatest match I have ever witnessed live before, 60 Minutes of awesomeness. Such an incredible crowd (if i may say so) with "Let's go Punk, Let's go Joe" chants lasting the whole 60 minutes. The "FIVE MORE MINUTES", "THANK YOU" "MATCH OF YEAR" Chants echo my sentiments. *****. Homicide came out and attacked them and wrecked chaos and was VERY Over with the hot crowd who all wanted to collectively riot at Homicide. Ultimate Endurance Match Jack Evans and Austin Aries Vs Briscoe Brothers Vs Cobana/Steel and Prophecy. Evans using his incredible contortionistic abilities was sick. It ended with Cobana/Steel Vs Prophecy in a Falls Count Anywhere and they brawl all over the arena taking some VERY stiff chairshots and piledrivers to the concrete floor. Ended with an Whitmer Exploder through a table on Steel for the win. ***3/4. Incredible Card featuring what many fans are considering the GREATEST ROH MATCH ever and a very good overall card. Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Hey Choken have you seen London/Danielson 2/3 Falls? If so, how does it stack up against Punk/Joe?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 13, 2004 I haven't see it personally but the people at ROH and other fourms were saying it was even better then that match...so take that as you will. I should see that Match (London/Dragon) which card was it on again?

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 2 60 minute matches in 2 days? Wow. Punk is friggin' insane. Choken...what does the new belt look like? Does it still have the big-ass "ROH" in the centre?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Well I guess they needed a back up belt incase Joe decides to go golfing before the next show.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 14, 2004 2 60 minute matches in 2 days? Wow. Punk is friggin' insane. Choken...what does the new belt look like? Does it still have the big-ass "ROH" in the centre? Same size but with Silver Plating and a tiny ROH logo on the top...very old school looking and respectable looking unlike the goofy indy bush league big fat ROH on the center. And the amazing thing bout Punk? He looked like he could go another 60 minutes right on the spot as he was moving quickly even at the 60 minute mark.

Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2004 My quick thoughts on the show before I drive back .... Joe vs Punk was indeed one of the best matches I've seen live Screw it.I'll save even more time. The four way dance and the opener were pretty much the only matches that did nothing for me. The rest was good to great. Now I have to drive 10 hours.
