Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted April 2, 2004 Diamond Dallas Page announced in his email newsletter that he is going to start taking independent bookings. The former WCW champion noted that he had settled his insurance claim with Lloyds of London over his injuries (perhaps Bret Hart should contact his lawyer?) and after watching Wrestlemania, began thinking about visiting Dr. Jho, the doctor who helped Scott Hall and Kurt Angle, among others in Pittsburgh, PA. Page is taking bookings via his website www.DiamondDallasPage.com. source: Pwinsider
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2004 I was just gonna put this up in the indy folder. I'm glad to hear it, because I've been a DDP fan for a long time. He's one of the genuinely nice guys in the business, and I hope he gets a chance to have a major comeback in TNA (can't see him going back to WWE), because he was treated like an afterthought in WWE. Guest Joe_G Report post Posted April 2, 2004 I have a bad feeling if DDP makes a comeback he's going to end up in a wheelchair within a year or two.
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2004 He would make a great announcer or manager. I'd hate to see him try to wrestle though.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted April 2, 2004 I think I could definately see him coming back in TNA. They could use him in a wrestling capacity and it wouldn't hurt the fact that he is a former WCW World Champion. Now, I am not the biggest fan of his work but I still think he can be of use for TNA......

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2004 From Meltzer's update today: --Diamond Dallas Page is coming out of retirement to work indies. You know, even when the doctor says you're risking paralysis, you can't keep people out of the ring.
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2004 Shouldn't staying home banging Kimberly be enough to satisfy any man? She must like to talk.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2004 Can't ANYONE stay retired without being crippled first in the process? ANYONE!? *sigh* I love DDP as much as the next guy, but this is a bad move. UYI
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2004 It's because no one can let go in the wrestling industry. There's just this intangible something that draws wrestlers who are done, back to it, unless there is a certain finality that they can't do it anymore. As long as their body can still go, regardless of how fucked up it is, they'll go.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted April 2, 2004 I highly doubt he would be doing any top notch work in the ring at this point though. I would imagine he is probably looking to get into commentating or something of that nature........meh, nevermind

Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted April 3, 2004 Jarrett vs. DDP in TNA... it'd be just like WCW's dying days. Smell the ratings
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2004 I'd like to see him do maybe a final run meaning maybe 6 months-1 year max of work in TNA. And even then I don't wanna' see him work every week just for health reasons. He seems like he mind is made up on coming back so if he is I hope he returns under terms close to this.
