Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Derek Lee's 2nd base steal was questionable. Yeah unless you watched the replay where he was clearly safe. But god, you just gotta feel that all these wasted chances by the Cubs are gonna come back to bite them in the ass. Patterson looked awful in that at-bat. I'm sure I just jinxed it. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Those statistical overlays get distracting. Is it really necessary to divert my attention in the 14th inning to list season RBI leaders after 3 games? For that matter, has anyone ever been intrigued by a list of RBI leaders? Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Perez came a couple feet from one a few innings ago. These guys are running out of bench and pitchers. It's reminding me of the Cards / Cubs game last September that went 15 before Sosa hit a homer to end it.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Does anyone if Extra innings includes every team? My brother wants to know if he can get Twins games, before we order.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Casey Daigle had an extremely poor debut for the Diamondbacks, giving up FIVE home runs to the Cardinals in just 2 2/3 IP. His 0 walks are encouraging, but I doubt he gets another start.

IIRC, there are a handful of games throughout the season that aren't carried but for the most part, they are. And the Cubs finally score in the 15th and thank god, since it looked like they may blow it again. Now let's see if they can hold them down in the bottom of the inning. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 I'm shocked Borowski wasn't in before. Why wait to use your best reliever until you can most afford to give up a run? Why use inferior pitchers when one run will cost the game?

DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 OK, Amazins are 2-2 after them winning against the 'Spos on a Todd Zeile double in the 11th. Tyler Yates did good, bullpen is still very shaky, Orber Moreno got his first ML save and Cliff Floyd hit a HR. Nice play in the top of the 9th by ex-Yank, now Expo Juan Rivera throwing out Kaz Matsui (but even better play by Brian Schneider in getting the tag). Doesn't get any worse than Stoney and Carey Jr. But they have made a slight upgrade since they got rid of Carter. :|

Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Yeah because the Reds' announcers are sooooo much better. On the radio, yes, they own everyone, but on Fox Sports Ohio, no. But when did I say they were? We were talking about TBS and WGN, moron. Hilarious how you change it to the Reds. Typical garbage. But I will give you this .. there is nobody as bad as Joe Buck and Tim McCarver.

Bored 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Yay~! Just got home from the A's victory. A pretty wild game. I must have seen about 100 doubles hit in that game. Wow. I was at that game last night too. A good sign was that Arthur Rhodes' fastball was coming in at 93 MPH when it'd been down to 91 last year. I hope Crosby starts hitting soon though because I'd hate to see some of the more fickle fans turn on him already.

I'm aware of which teams we were talking about but as a Reds fan, you don't have a whole lot of room to talk about poor commentating teams. There's nothing really wrong with the TBS announcing duo, except that they lack any semblence of emotion. I'm quite aware that Carey isn't that great, but you can tell he really loves the Cubs and isn't just out there for his paycheck. Also, I see nothing wrong with Stoney. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 10, 2004 I don't have WGN either. Perhaps its a New England thing where are cable companies don't provide it.
Bored 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Currently have satlellite but I'm pretty sure in the S.F. Bay Area they still don't get WGN, even on digital cable. Always have had TBS though.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 I don't have WGN either. Perhaps its a New England thing where are cable companies don't provide it. That's odd. I don't know how WTBS works in Atlanta, but the WGN that the rest of the country gets is completely different from the WGN Channel 9 that we get in Chicago. I know both feeds get sports and WB programming, (hence the national fanbase for the Cubs), but Chicago gets the great WGN Morning News whereas national just gets Mama's Family reruns or something. They also used to have The Bozo Show. I was on it in 1995, and got to play a game: I had to balance a book on my head and serpentine around a line of cones then hand it off to my partner. My team won, but I couldn't balance the book so I just held it there. I won a game called Uno Stacko, one of those hand-held LED games (The Little Mermaid because it was supposed to be only girls playing but one of the show coordinators dropped the ball big-time), and a box of Matt's chocolate chip cookies. They were delicious. Then I got to do the big march with Bozo and Professor Andy and all that great fun. But those days are over now.
