Guest Dids
As a lifelong hip-hop head- some of these answers and making the baby Dids cry.  "Renee!?"

I hate making lists, but off the top of my head right now.

A Day Like Any Other- Siah and Yeshua daPO ED

Forrest Whitaker- Brother Ali

Nothing But Sunshine- Atmosphere

Me and Jesus the Pimp in the '79 Granada Last Night- The Coup

No Regrets- Aesop Rock

Renee's my sentimental favorite. If you want the honest truth, it was one of me and my cousins favorite songs around the time he passed away ('96) as it was getting major airplay at the time. It brings back some good memories, so that's why it's high on my list of songs.

So noted. Good reasons. There's lots of songs that have the same effect on me for different reasons. I'm partial to Ma$e's first album just because it reminds me of the times I had with my friends.

For my favs...I'm probably forgetting a lot of stuff, but off the top of my head...

"I'm Bad" by LL

"One Mic" by Nas

"Let's Go" by Kool Moe Dee

"I Ain't Mad At Cha" by Pac

And since I've gotta pick a Jay-Z song...uh...I'm tempted to say "Lucifer" off of the Black Album (that's probably my favorite song from him right now) but I'll go with "Dead Presidents".

In no particular order:

Public Enemy: Night of the Living Bassheads

NWA: Straight Outta Compton

DMX: Stop the Rain

Jay-Z: Big Pimpin

2Pac: Brenda's Got a Baby

Right outside this 5 is Geto boys: Mind Playin Tricks on Me.

It's really hard to do a Top 5, but this is how I feel right now. In a week, my Top 5 could be completely different.

2. 2Pac-Changes

3. Eminem-Stan

4. Public Enemy-Night of the Living Bassheads

5. Jay-Z-H To The IZZO (H.O.V.A.)

Numbers 2-5 could change at anytime. But #1 will always be "Shut 'Em Down" since Public Enemy is my all-time favorite rap group and that is my favorite PE song ever.

I really don't like rap. Thus my top five:

1. Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby

2. Kriss Kross - Jump

3. Morris Minor & The Majors - The Stutter Rap

4. Salt N Pepa - Push It

5. MC Hammer - U Can't Touch This

I really like the late 80s/early 90s, however.

For me it starts and ends with the full version of Rapper's Delight by the Sugar Hill Gang.

Bring It On - Geto Boys (featuring most of the other 5th Ward rappers)

Wow, that brought back some memories. Great choice...
