Ravenbomb Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Isn't that something Cena says? I don't really watch Smackdown a lot (First time I saw Cena was on the lottery draft Raw). Does that mean anything?
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 This thread was done not long after Cena picked up the whole rapper gimmick. "You can't see me" is basically "I'm better than you, you can't touch this. You're about to catch an ass kicking."

2GOLD Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 I thought it was the phrase that turned him into Marky Mark? Or is that god awful "deez nuts" the thing that turned him into Marky Mark?
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Yes, "Deez nuts" is turning him too much into the generic rapper.
Ripper Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Yes, "Deez nuts" is turning him too much into the generic rapper. for it to be generic most rappers would have to say it. Deez nuts hasn't been used since snoop said it back in 95.
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Raven - you need to hook up w/ Anglesault. He'll fill you in on Cena.
haVoc Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 First time Cena drops the line "It's your birthday"... Smackdown will be officially dead to me.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 All his material seems to be based on, or a variant of old dogg pound slogans from 8 years ago. I don't think we need to worry about It's Your Birthday for a little while.
Perfxion Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 If he pulls a Fo Shizzle then I will throw a brick into my TV.
cawthon777 Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Hey, as long as Cena doesn't drop down to a Men on a Mission level of sucktitude, I'm fine.
Guest Fook Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 I give it 6 months before he's asking us to throw our hands in the air.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 His pre-rap crowd warm-up is really starting to piss me off. While it's great for the crowd and and to hear the noise (shit, that sucked), couldn't he do it someway else? You know, like give us a decent rap again? And I much preferred the heel entrance - now he just looks like he's on crack.
razazteca Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Has Cena used: "Get Crunk" "Get your hair did" "C to the E to the N to the A"
DangerousDamon Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 All his material seems to be based on, or a variant of old dogg pound slogans from 8 years ago. I don't think we need to worry about It's Your Birthday for a little while. He got Wordlife from Method Man, which is something I found out recently.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Has Cena used: "Get Crunk" "Get your hair did" "C to the E to the N to the A" Not yet, but he's slowly transforming into the mainstream rapper, i.e. 50 Cent, which, while getting him over a lot more (as if he needs it right now) with the casual fans, will make us, as MX so precisely put it, throw a brick through our TV. And as for "Word Life", I figured that it was just a rap cliche when I saw (heard) him make his entrance at Armageddon 2002, and since then, it's just a phrase that's grown on you.
razazteca Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Cena needs a tag team partner to be the hype-man or sing hooks for him. Billy Gunn could do the "Bitches and Pimps introducing the US champion of the world........Word F'N Life Cena!!!!! Billy Gunn's would say "YEAH SON" or "OKAY babygirl" during interviews on Smackdown depending who is the announcer to hype up Cena.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 I think that Billy Gunn should be kept as far away as possible from John Cena.

I can't imagine Billy Gunn with a rapper gimmick..
razazteca Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 The Billy Gunn gimmick will be use to mock the 3 Live Cru of NWA TNA.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Isn't that something Cena says? I don't really watch Smackdown a lot (First time I saw Cena was on the lottery draft Raw). Does that mean anything? Basically, it means that Cena thinks he's some kind of witch that can make himself invisible by waving his hand in front of his face.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Mildly amusing, 'Sault. I expected better from you.
Guest Trivia247 Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 someone should have swatted him right in the face the first time he said that right in front of him.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 I wasn't kidding. Oh, well in that case...
Guest Nater Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 He's been able to keep it about 2 years fresh. Throwing out 'Deez nutz' is just cashing in on people who still believe that rap hasnt done anything good since before Eminem. Something I can sympathize with, and also supports use of Method Man material. fix up ;p
humongous2002 Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I can't wait for Cena to start saying "Word to your Mutha", "I'm down with OPP" and my all-time favorite "Rumpshaker".He could start his own posse called WWA(Wiggers with attitude).
ChrisMWaters Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I still say that they should bring Men on a Mission back to either Team WIth or Feud with Cena. New Rap vs. Old Rap!
SuperJerk Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Yes, "Deez nuts" is turning him too much into the generic rapper. for it to be generic most rappers would have to say it. Deez nuts hasn't been used since snoop said it back in 95. It was 1992 (when "The Chronic" came out). Feel old yet?
