B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Homer the Great - Hilarious episode in which Homer joins the Stonecutters....... *singing* "Who keeps the metric system down, we do.....we do....." That is a pretty good episode. **singing** "Who holds back the electric car? Who made Steve Guttenberg, a STAR! Who robs Kingfish of their sight? Who rigs ever Oscar night? We do! We DOOOOOOOOO~!" Still, my all-time favourite episode is either the ep where Homer goes to college or the pee-wee hockey episode. Those two are GOLD.

B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 No love for the quest for chilli? Wasn't that one the Chili Cook-Off? It sure was. And for your pleasure and mine, here's a couple of lines from that ep: Chief Wiggum: "That Simpson. He thinks he's the Pope of Chilitown." Chief Wiggum: "I've added a special ingredient this year...the MERCILESS peppers of Quetzelsacotenango! Grown deep in the jungle primevil by the members of a Guatemalan insane asylum." Homer: "Uh, Wiggy, my chili's getting cold." Homer: "We really are soulmates. In your face, space coyote!" Homer: "Where are my chili boots?"--I don't know why, but I fucking love that line. Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 HAHAHAHAHA Gold I love that episode, as well. There are so many I like, but I don't know the official names of them. One scene that will always stand out for me, from that episode, is Homer putting that chili in his mouth, burning his tongue, going berzerk, then drinking the candle wax, only to be reminded of it by Ralph Wiggum. (That was him, wasn't it?)
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 15, 2004 During the Easter holidays, The Simpsons Reloaded is on every weekday for a few hours on cable, and on weekend, it's Super Simpsons Saturday and Sunday, as well as two episodes each night, and an extra on Sunday nights. On "normal TV", there's at least an episode every night. Now that's a gold mine of pop culture comedy! "Copyright expired."
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 15, 2004 I get Simpsons on 4 times a day, so I have enough. Too bad half of the time its usually Seasons 10-whatever.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 15, 2004 Matt Groening really tapped-in with what is humerous (and could do it) at Season 4 - it's just a pity that it ended at about Season 10, even though the episodes after that did have their odd funny parts, but they're just not as enjoyable as an episode in a whole. I think that with a show like The Simpsons, it all depends on when and how you watch it.

If that doesn't get "WTF" kind of expression I give up.
spiny norman 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 Just recently I was trying to figure out when I ceased liking The Simpsons. And then I realised that it was (and also the last episode I ever watched in its entirety) the episode in which Maude Flanders died. Absolutely killed my interest in the show, because that was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. What was the name of that episode, and when did it come along (ie. what series etc.)??? RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 The Maude Flanders thing wasn't what killed my interest in the show, because it was stabbed A LONG time ago and bleeding for a while, but it pretty-much-well shoved it off a cliff and I think I permanently stopped watching after that (with sporadic "click in, click out"'s). Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 15, 2004 It was from Season 11, and was entitled 'Alone Again, Natura-Diddly". I didn't have a problem with the death of the Maude Flanders character. And BBCW, when I said that, I meant that, the feeling that The Simpsons conveys can make you feel different depending on when and how you watch it. It truly is one of, if not the, greatest television show of all time.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 How exactly did Maude Flanders die? I don't remember seeing the episode in which it happened.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 I would tell you how she died, but it would sound so stupid to just say it. I couldn't pinpoint any time for me, it was a gradual fade, but I still don't hate it, because I no longer have any standards. It's ok from that perspective. I hardly ever watch it though. Bruiser was right... the thread did turn negative.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 She got hit by a shirt from one of the t-shirt cannons at a sporting event...and the impact caused her to fall off a balcony. (if memory serves me correctly)
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 15, 2004 She got hit by a shirt from one of the t-shirt cannons at a sporting event...and the impact caused her to fall off a balcony. (if memory serves me correctly) To fill in the remaining gaps, Homer pissed off the T-Shirt cannon chicks, so they shot about 6 at him. He ducked to pick something up (probably a quarter) and it hit Maude, who was returning with Ned's hot dogs (Not foot longs, they make him uncomfortable). Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 16, 2004 I don't understand the hate for Maude's death. I thought it was kind of funny. Of course you do - you hate everyone. But maybe because they feel the same way as Homer did/does about her. I didn't mind the death either - it was an entertaining episode, but whether or not her death was intended as ludicrous, how the hell could apparel shot out of a t-shirt cannon possess the velocity to push you back so much so that you fall of the back of a set of bleachers? Chuck Woolery 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Well, it is a t-shirt cannon. I'd believe it. I have to second "Homer Visits NYC" as the best episode. Loved every bit of it.

Considering the character is 120 pounds, its easy.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Isn't it only one shirt at a time? Edit: I just realised what a fucking retarded question that was. Yes, I'll buy her being thrown back.

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 16, 2004 If I remember correctly, she was hit with the contents of one cannon. ...damn Australlians! Learn to count! Homer drew a target on his stomach with ketchup, and they all shot at his stomache. A majority, if not all, hit Maude when he ducked.
