Also, isn't Vengeance still a SD! show?
AndrewTS Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 WTF? Raw's going to get more PPVs too? That should be a mistake...
Lightning Flik Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 WTF? Raw's going to get more PPVs too? That should be a mistake... You mean that had better be a mistake. If Raw gets more PPVs, then WWE is really trying to make Smackdown look like the inferior product, and frankly, that is bullshit to do, as you'll alienate the Smackdown roster doing something like that.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Vengeance wouldn't make much sense being a SD show coming off the new GREAT AMERICAN BASH! Smackdown PPV. And..Im gonna try to go to Norfolk. Im saving thg money now, and my birthday should be just about the time tickets go on sale..It really should be in Baltimore though, but Norfolk is just as close for me I suppose. *can hardly wait for a Bradshaw/Eddy rematch* and the RAW PPV in January should be SUPERBRAWL! The October PPV doesn't fall close enough to Halloween to be called Halloween Havoc, so maybe Fall Brawl? This is of course if they decide to use more old WCW PPV names..
AndrewTS Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Well, they have it set up that there are 11 solo-brand PPVs, and 4 dual brand PPVs, and out of the 11 solos Raw gets 6 PPVs and SD gets 5. Why not 5 solo each, or make one of those a dual brand?
Lil' Bitch Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Judgment Day (SD): Sunday, May 16, 2004, Los Angeles, CA I can personally thank WWE for not letting me attend this live due to their shitty plans. SummerSlam (both): Sunday, August 15, 2004, Toronto, CN I guess its pretty much set for SkyDome now. TBA PPV (RAW): Tuesday, October 19, 2004, Milwaukee, WI Its Halloween Havoc I tell ya! Armageddon (SD): Sunday, December 12, 2004, TBD Um, isn't Armageddon a RAW PPV? WTF? Anyways, I'm willing to bet it take place somwhere in Florida. WrestleMania XXI (both): Sunday, March 27, 2005, Los Angeles, CA JD is worth missing for this. I'm definitely going. It will be 12 years after my last WM.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 TBA PPV (RAW): Tuesday, October 19, 2004, Milwaukee, WI This better be called Halloween Havoc.....or better not happen at all.
TheBigSwigg Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 I was happier with less PPV's. I don't like the month-to-month buildup they had from 98-2002. I prefer the longer build up between the big shows. But I guess WWE has $$$$$$ in their eyes. Bastards
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Norfolk is finally getting a WWE PPV. I can't wait to go. Why are there 2 PPVs in Ohio? It's not that important....no offense to you Indians, Reds, Browns, Bengals, Cavaliers, and whatever the hockey team is called fans.
Slickster Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 I guess that the addition of the GAB and Havoc shows explains why Vengeance and Armageddon are switching brands; this new setup WILL give both brands an equal # of shows in 04. RAW: BLash, Bad Blood, Vengeance, Unforgiven, Havoc = 5 SD!: NWO, JDay, GAB, No Mercy, Armageddon = 5 Split: Rumble, WM, SSlam, SSeries = 4
Slickster Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 Norfolk is finally getting a WWE PPV. I can't wait to go. Why are there 2 PPVs in Ohio? It's not that important....no offense to you Indians, Reds, Browns, Bengals, Cavaliers, and whatever the hockey team is called fans. The same reason there were 2 shows in MA last year: big enough fanbases for both of them. This will be Columbus' first PPV since KOTR02 and Cleveland's first PPV since InVasion 01.
Guest Choken One Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 As Usual it's Cleveland and Columbus getting the shows...At least Dayton and Cincy should get a PPV at some point...All Dayton has is KOTR 93 and Cincy had Souled Out 2000. Dayton was site to three Heat Wave ECW PPVs as well...
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Dayton was site to three Heat Wave ECW PPVs as well... ...So you got to witness the time when Joel Gertner said: "Beluah didn't know when to urinate, deficate, or ejaculate." ?
Slickster Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 Dayton's Hara Arena also got WCW Souled Out 98. You know who hasn't gotten a show in a while? Wheeling, WV and Tupelo, MS (1999 and 1997 respectively).
Guest Choken One Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 I'm going to go ahead and Nominate Chicago for the HOST SITE for the 2005 Royal Rumble. Chicago Crowds ARE always hot...so it'd be interesting to observe them during a rumble match. I say take the other remaining slots (No Mercy, Armageddon, Jan Raw PPV and NWO) and give them to different sites then the usual sites (Long Island, Boston etc)...i mean not so common sites...some fresh new ground.
ChrisMWaters Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Come on...give Atlantic City another PPV. When the hell was the last time Atlantic City had a WWF/E PPV?
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Hmmm... Why is The Great American Bash SmackDown!-exclusive?
Perfxion Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Reason why RAW is getting more PPVs: Smackdown had a solo PPV in Feb. That evens it 6 a piece. Start from Jan of 2004: RAW: 6 Smackdown: 6 Joint: 6
slimm44 Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 where did this info come from? I hope it's false because I really want Summerslam to come to Tampa
AndrewTS Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Bah, accounting had fried my brain all out with the numbers. Yeah, it does even out. "You know who hasn't gotten a show in a while? Wheeling, WV" West Virginia...ugh. Noble's character is...pretty much the typical West Virginian that I know.
The Tino Standard Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 I'm going to go ahead and Nominate Chicago for the HOST SITE for the 2005 Royal Rumble. Actually, I'm going to nominate Chicago as the early candidate for WM 22. Think about it: XX was in NYC, a huge media market. 21 is in LA, the second biggest market. Chi-town is probably No. 3, and they've had WM there before twice. Speaking of which, I don't understand why they don't run shows at the United Center. It is right in downtown, while the Rosemont Horizon (Allstate Arena my ass) is on the outskirts of town. The U.C. is bigger, newer and they ran a PPV there once already (SummerSlam 94). Also, for ChrisMWaters, I could be wrong, but I think the last Atlantic City PPV was WM 5 (Hogan-Savage). Now then... Survivor Series in Cleveland? FUCK YEAH, BABY! Back where it belongs! That will be the fourth Survivor Series in the Cleveland area (87, 88 and 92 were at the Richfield Coliseum).
MillenniumMan831 Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 WOOOOOOOOO . . . . . . Surivivor Series in Cleveland . . . Where it all begins . . . Again! Well, actually it began in Richfield, but that's a suburb of Cleveland.
David Blazenwing Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Fuck yeah! Halloween Havoc (or whatever it ends up being called) comes to Milwaukee! It's about damn time Milwaukee gets another PPV (last was NWO 02, a month or so before I became a WWE fan)... I've been to a live RAW, a live SD! and a RAW House Show... I just need to see a PPV now to say I've been to 'em all (and a SD! House show too, I guess, but whatever, lol)... I'm getting front row seats too, dammit! *Happy*
The Tino Standard Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Oh my... In addition to Survivor Series being in Cleveland on Nov. 14, it was just announced that the Browns will play at home against the Steelers that day too. I should start preparing for my Nov. 15 hangover right now.
JoeDirt Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 I second the nomination for Chicago for the 2005 Rumble. I'm hoping they bring a PPV here to North Carolina this upcoming year...the last one we had was Judgment Day 2003. (Uggh) I also nominate Minneapolis for a PPV. Don't think they've had one since Summerslam 99. EDIT: Also - how many PPVs are they adding in 2005? This year they added one in June and one in October. But there's a RAW PPV in January 2005?
TheBigSwigg Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 As Usual it's Cleveland and Columbus getting the shows...At least Dayton and Cincy should get a PPV at some point...All Dayton has is KOTR 93 and Cincy had Souled Out 2000. Dayton was site to three Heat Wave ECW PPVs as well... Where are they going to have a PPV in Cincy? US Bank Arena/Firstar Center/Riverfront Coliseum? HA. That's funny. I remember Nitro there. It's a pretty small building. I could see an outdoor show at Paul Brown Stadium, but nothing in US Bank Arena. The only reason Souled Out worked is because WCW was slowly going the way of the Buffalo. EDIT: I forgot about the recent RAW. What a hot crowd.
Slickster Posted April 15, 2004 Author Report Posted April 15, 2004 FUN FACT: 31 total non-production songs have been used by WWE as PPV theme songs. 4 by Drowning Pool (SSlam 01, Vengeance 01, WMX8, WMXX) 3 by Saliva (NM01, WMX8, SSeries 02) 3 by Limpbizkit (WMX7, WMXIX, SSeries 03) 2 by Puddle of Mudd (SSeries 01, Rumble 04) 2 by trustCompany (Vengeance 02, Rumble 03) 1 by AC/DC, Marilyn Manson, Kid Rock, Rob Zombie, Creed, 12 Stones, Neurotica, Gavin Rossdale, Evanescence, Cold, Trapt, Staind, Metallica, Sevendust, Dope, Rey Misterio Jr., and Edgewater
