Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Leeching off an already popular topic on this wonderful program, I was curious. Not that I can really remember, but I think that mine was Radio Bart. Or maybe, looking through The Simpsons: A Complete Guide To Our Favorite Family, it just seemed like the first that I saw. Anyhow, what was yours, if you can remember? A lot of you will probably say Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Since I was old enough to remember, it was the first episode period. Well that was hard. I don't remember any Tracy Ulman skits though...
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular was on last night, so saw some of those skits from The Tracy Ullman Show. Matt Groening: "Git outta ma office!" (Gunshots)
Youth N Asia Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 The ep where they rip off Patton and Bart goes to War with Nelson
Jebus Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 It's one of the first ones. "Bart The General", I believe it's called. The one where Bart rallies an "army" against Nelson and his cronies. Edit: ^^^ Just like Youth N Asia
Nighthawk Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 First one. I was also a Tracy Ullman fan, so I was there from the very beginning. I got excited when I heard they were getting their own show.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Thank God the animation was improved by 500000%, because the original shorts looked awful when seeing them after the T.V. series started.
Placebo Effect Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 The first Christmas episode. Got it from the video store when I was like 8, and have been watching since.

Downhome Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 From the start on Tracy Ullman here Same here.

Hey, I was born when that episode first aired. Made it by a little under 10 months.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Yes, but you mentioned the first episode specifically. Yes, I'm proud to admit that the Simpson family are older than me.
chaosrage Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 I said I didn't remember what it was because it's been like 15-17 years. It's weird how Bart should be in his late 20s now. Maybe then the show wouldn't be so stale, heh.

Guest Ray Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 That episode where Homer tries to kill himself by tying a giant rock to hinself and throwing it over a bridge.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 That episode where Homer tries to kill himself by tying a giant rock to hinself and throwing it over a bridge. Excuse my spelling, but I think that was Homer's Odyssey (3rd episode aired in Season 1)
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 That's the correct spelling. The episodes would have been stale to start, however, considering that there was one baby, depending on at what point in Marge and Homer's lives they would have started the show from.
Addy Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 It was 'Homer The Heretic' for me. Somebody recorded it for me because I didn't have cable and I watched that episode 100's of times. It's still one of my favourites.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Yeah, Homer the Heretic is full of great moments. Most episodes around that time (Season 6) are.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 That episode where Homer tries to kill himself by tying a giant rock to hinself and throwing it over a bridge. That'n.
Slayer Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 The very first episode I never watched Tracy Ullman and so never saw any of the shorts. I just remember Fox airing commercials for this new Simpsons show during the afternoon cartoons which were such a staple in my daily diet, hence I tuned in and, bam, hooked.
Guest Fook Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Krusty gets Busted, the first one with Sideshow Bob.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Krusty gets Busted, the first one with Sideshow Bob. One thing I hated from that episode was they had Krusty's shoes squeak EVERY TIME he took a step. I'm glad they pulled the plug on that idea.
The Amazing Rando Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 The first episode. Great moments in that and the first inklings of how the family will function for many years to come. Homer the dimwitted labor slave that would do anything for his family Bart the mischief maker Lisa, the caring Simpson child that loves her family Marge, the caring Simpson parent that loves her family and Maggie, the baby that doesn't talk, sucks on a pacifer, and falls down occasionally.
Kahran Ramsus Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 The Crepes of Wrath. I was a little slow getting into the first season and just kind of stumbled upon this one by accident. I didn't really get hooked into the show until Season 2 (Bart Gets an F), and still don't care for the first season.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 For some reason, I use to think Season 1 was better, until I bought the DVD set. Damn...so horrible. The episodes weren't that bad, but the animation was a mess, the lips weren't even to close to being insync with the voices, and the show featured very few supporting cast characters. Even the voices changed, and sometimes, characters had voices of other characters, like Lenny had MOE's voice in Homers Night Out when the dancer came out.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 The one where Marge goes to jail for stealing from the Kwik-E-Mart when everybody is sick.
