Kevin Smith has been pegged to write a new Green Hornet movie. I know there was one with Bruce Lee, but what is the story of Green Hornet? His powers or whatever. And what do you want to see in the movie. Etc...

Bruce Lee was Kato in the TV version of the Green Hornet. Can't remember exactly, but Green Hornet was similar to Batman, but without the angst, and with a manservant/butler who could kick serious ass. I think it only lasted one season.

A logical Kato would be Jet Li, who already did an homage of sorts in Black Mask. But they could go all Codename: C.O.U.R.A.G.E. and have Kato be a sexy female.

So he's Batman with out the things that make Batman ineresting. Hmm. Sounds craptacular.

Is there anything that makes the character particularly unique? Like the whole "it" factor guys like Bats and Spidey have?

He's kinda like The Shadow or The Phantom. He's a very pulp-ish character.

On imdb the only castmember it has listed is Jason Mewes. For some reason I hope that's a joke

Someone propably entered that as a joke knowing Smith's history. I wouldn't be suprised if he had a cameo in the film, though.

In wizard Smith said he was writing a small part specially for Mewes.

Green Hornet's car is cooler than Batman's, and his main weapon is alternately a sting gun (which shoots electricity) or a gas gun. Kato is supposed to be a Japanese guy who does all the physical stuff. Kevin Smith has said he wants Jet Li for Kato and Jake Gylenhaal for the Hornet. Sounds pretty cool to me.

When you're making comparisons like that, it doesn't bode well for the movie.

Yeah, but in the day that they were created, super detective driven radio serials were all the rage.

And both the movies bombed. Let's hope Smith can write a good movie that's not based in Jersey.
