Statement #4:

Younger Superstars should be getting more TV time.

Batista: Definitely false.  Guys that are on top are on top for a reason.  Guys who are younger and are still learning the craft need to work their way up, pay their dues and earn that TV time.  It's not something that should be given to anyone just because they're young and new.

Ahuh...You know its not like Batista had to learn his way to the top stable in the WWE. When he first entered the WWE is basically got pushed down our throats with the "decon" angle then it was straight to Ric Flair's right hand man then straight to the top WWE stable. So there's a lot of irony in that one isn't there?

*yawn*

Oh yeah, Batista was really pushed down our throats and right into the main events when he first appeared. Oh wait, he wasn't. You sure you're not mixing him up with Brock or something? That Deacon shit was a joke gimmick, meanwhile Brock was winning the last KOTR and being booked to go over Austin.

So they partnered him with Flair- so what? Maybe part of the thinking was that under working with Flair he WOULD pick up on some stuff?

And being in Evolution does not = main event. Its a stable. Were X-Pac and D'lo Brown main eventing in 98 because they were members of DX and the Nation? Was Anvil main eventing in 97 because he was in the Hart Foundation? Was Vincent a main eventer because he was in the NWO? Quit reaching.

Oh, and Batista is potentially a lot better than all of the guys I just named, by the way.

Did you just say Batista is better than D'lo? nWo was in WCW at the time not the WWE so you can't really say that much plus nWo was a hella of a lot bigger than Evolution, so yeah not everyone would be main eventing. And since Batista and Orton are highly favored by HHH plus one of them are normally at his side and in the main stable in the WWE, perhaps really the only stable in the WWE does put him and Orton in the main event spotlight.

Batista is really, really, good in the role they have him in now.

Yeah, I did. D'lo isn't THAT good. And Batista can only get better.

So what if that was WCW, what difference does that make? And Vincent was one of the first guys to join after the original trio. I'm not talking about 1998 when half the roster was NWO one way or another.

So your definition of being a main eventer has nothing to do with actually having or being in contention of the belt, its just whether or not you're in the same camera shot as HHH. Thanks for clarifying that, now I know you're irrational and there's no point in arguing with you.

And ZsasZ is right- Batista is perfect in his role right now.

That DX line got me to thinking: maybe Batista and Orton shouldn't be too happy about being HHH's lackeys. I mean, look what happened to his former lackeys:

Road Dogg smokes Mary Jane and is part of a comedy tag team in NWA.

Chyna is doing guest appearences at car shows.

X-Pac is doing Chyna and indie shows.

Billy Gunn, after getting 100s of pushes, is still at the bottom rung.

I do give HHH credit, though; the guy can be quite hilarious when he wants to be.

X-Pac is doing Chyna to get out of working indie shows.

Edited for accuracy.

I thought intially that Batistia when they abandoned that whole Deacon thing looked more impressive than Brock Did. had Batisia been more polished a wrestler they probably would have pushed him as far as they did Brock. Im glad he is up front with his limited experience thats cool im sure he got plenty of time and room for improvement.

Actually my point is this, if Orton or Batista wasn't in Evolution, they wouldn't be in "main event" matches. Orton would diffently be on heat or velocity and Batista probably would still be on Smackdown.

I found HHH bringing up Luger funny.

Does anyone else think HHH's black tights, white boots, blond hair, and big physique resembles 1980s Lex Luger?

No, not really.

For all his fualts, HHH is a much smarter wrestler than Luger.

Triple H: False. Younger Superstars should be earning more TV time. Nothing should be given to anyone.

for the record... he did say that nothing should be given to anyone... not that it never was.

*and also.. i do agree. that HHH did work his way up the card, and in '99 had all the tools to carry his heat to the top of the card.

and as for people like Matt Hardy and the like that most definately deserve the pushes and TV time that they're not getting, unfortunately.. sometimes that's the nature of the beast. and as much as they may deserve it time and place carries a lot of weight.

(and it's completely ridiculous to claim that match quality has anything to do w/ pushes and who makes it on TV. otherwise Hogan would've been curtain jerking all through the 80's while Dibiase, Savage, and Roberts were feuding over the title.)

In 99 HHH was put over all the Main Eventers, He Injured mankind,Beat The Rock at Fully Loaded,Injured Austin at Summerslam,Won the Title the night after,Won a 6 Pack Challenge at Unforgiven, beat Austin at No Mercy,Married Stephanie McMahon, feuded with Vince and yet he still wasn't over until Mick Foley put him over clean twice.

Edit:I just remembered that they had to reform DX in a desperate attempt for heel Heat.

Like World Heavyweight Championship belts, for example.....

To suggest, by the way, that Batista has at any point been "pushed down our throats" or given a main event role is ridiculous. He's the enforcer in a stable. He hasn't held any singles belts and his run with the tag belts was teaming with a 16 time world champion. His primary roles within Evolution have been doing run-ins as an enforcer and hitting one or two power moves on a weakened opponent or acting as a gauntlet to either Randy or HHH in order to try and soften up their opponents. He really hasn't been given any major clean victories or been made to look superior to those who he shouldnt'.

He was with the company 4 years up to that point. He was really popular in DX & DX made Vince a ton of money. He was popular, had a great look and worked his way up.

He also paid dues (for his and others mistakes) to get that push at a time Vince was gun ho on making new superstars.

Matt Hardy has been with the company 6ish years up to this point. He made the company a lot of money in the Hardy Boyz tag team with his brother, and both members of the team were popular (not just Jeff). He is popular, worked the tag division toward the top of the card with stellar matches, and has a pretty decent look. He worked his way up the card too, and can have very good matches.

Should Matt Hardy be a main event player? Probably not. But he has just as much going for him now as HHH did back in 1999 (great gimmick, better matches than HHH had before his ridiculous push). He should at least be given TV time, because he earned it.

Yeah because that hardy boyz merchandise sold like hotcakes. They didn't make money for the WWE. Tag Teams haven't made money since the early 90's. They were just an extra to warm the crowd up before the real stars came on.

Hardyz didn't make a 10th of the money that HHH and DX did. And when was the last time that Hardy spent months getting Slopped by a Godwinn?

Like him or not Helmsley paid his dues.

False.

The Hardy Boyz merchandise did sell very well when they were at their peak. Even when Jeff was floundering his merchandise was still doing very well.

The Hardyz also made money off a DVD made about them (Leap of Faith), a freaking book (Exist 2 Inspire) and a VHS. (Tables, Ladders and Chairs)

And I would hardly call the TLC matches just an extra to warm up the crowd.

Considering that Matt Hardy was nothing but a jobber from 1994-1998 he has paid his dues.

The Unforgiven match was better than expected but overall his matches were poor for a world champion.

I'm not saying he's been in a main event role, I'm basically just trying to say he's in that main event spotlight.
