I think you all are forgeting one of the most boring teams ever Storm and Regal. Lets see they had only been together as a team for a few weeks when they won the Raw tag belts from the very over BookDust after they had just won them a few weeks earlier ending a great feud.

 

Storm/Regal were not over at all and their winning the belts killed the crowd and killed the tag divison. And it what was worse was you had JR pimping this team as being the greatest when you could see how the crowd didn't give a shit about them.

Well how do you know? Cept for Kidman they've never really been pushed to see how the crowd would react to them. Hell Dragon got a good reaction for his first match and he was still busted down to the B-show.

When Ultimo and Kanyon worked the pre-PPV Heat match at Vengeance, I think it was, Ultimo and his signature moves got big pops. And then was buried anyway. And wow, the crowd doesn't react to Paul London, who has worked HOW many matches AS Paul London on Smackdown again?

I like Billy. It's a shame that he isn't a stud on the roster, and is basically only there (IMO, don't know for sure) because of Torrie. His feud with Hogan in the late days of dubya cee dubya was great, and shocking to say the least.

Kidman got over in WCW, but he was still getting cheered by a dwindling audience, and when he had to cut any promos, he demonstrated rather poor delivery and clearly they were scripted for him.

 

The current problem with him now is that he simply can't cut it anymore. His ringwork is very poor compared to even a couple years ago, probably due to injuries (or Torrie sapping his mortal soul from his body, something like that). When he does his own finisher he botches it half the time (that's hardly an exaggeration, either). What's the use of an injury-prone, broken-down cruiserweight that botches moves and can't cut a decent promo? He's a white, English-speaking Ultimo, as far as I'm concerned.

Previously banned poster. If you sign up for another account and a mod finds out, you are to be banned, no questions asked. There's only rarely second chances given, such as a misunderstanding (Sakura) or Banky redeeming himself by helping Dames with the board.

Probably because he spoke a lot of truth about some of the posters here, and some people didn't want to hear it.

 

I think Regal and Storm were just slightly more boring than the Bashams, but considering the culprits that's not really a surprise. The problem with the Bashams is that a team with their gimmick COULD be interesting, but they do it so half-assed. If they abandoned this look alike shit and let one of them wrestle with a gimp hood or ball in his mouth, or show them actually enjoying getting hurt in the ring, they could be a lot more fun to watch. Also I've heard that one of them was really good on the mic in OWV. So how come we never hear him talk now?

Pick any one. The match you mentioned is one of the more overrated matches I've seen in a while. It seems to get some residual praise from the heel turn that followed. The Basham's didn't suddenly stop wrestling the most generic match on earth for that one match.

The only logical reason I can see to bash the Bashams and defend Bagwell is that at least Bagwell has somewhat of a character/hook to him. As far as their ring work goes, Buff's been crappy but the Bashams were allegedly good in OVW. Buff was so bad WWE fired him for sucking. WWE FIRED HIM FOR SUCKING!! That's pretty bad.

If we allow PBPs back we lose all credibility. You can't ban someone, just to allow them back. Banned means banned, period.

This came out of left field, didn't it? I hope you're not implying I ever defended Buff, unless I missed something and you're talking about someone else.

 

And Buff wasn't fired for just sucking, he was fired for sucking in a very important match to kickstart a huge angle, which enraged the crowd so much the whole thing had to be re-booked entirely. If they fired people just for sucking half the roster would be out of a job. Also his backstage bullshit contributed to a lot of it.

Sucking aside, had everyone not already hated Buff, I don't think he would have been fired immediately. It wasn't so much that he had a lack of talent either. It was more lack of effort in a match/angle that was supposed to jumpstart the biggest angle in history.

A 3:16 -- no, I was referring to Azz. It wasn't even so much that he wanted to defend Buff for any good reason, but to defend him and the others because him liking them when most smarks don't makes him "cool" or "rebellious" or something. He arrogantly said that we were stupid sheep for not liking them and "ganging up" on them.

 

Although I admit, it having been so long I completely forgot about the importance of that match, because it doesn't really seem to me like Vince was going to make a serious attempt to run WCW separately anyway. In retrospect, maybe that would be correct. Look at how they had WWF stomp the Alliance, the half-assed way they're running the extension, and the illogical favoritism towards Raw. Now imagine how it would have been if one of the shows ran under a WCW banner. I can't see it being any better.

 

However, when you add in his bad attitude and his momma's boy tendencies, how does one really defend Buff? If you like him, you like him, and that's that. However, if you're defending him just to be a wise ass, then you get to snap the hell back to reality and see how stupid you're acting.
