Steviekick 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2004 That list is pretty good, but there is NO reason that the Clash was ahead of Queen.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2004 This list is older than hell. I remember bitching years ago that the Police shouldn't be #10 and REM should be higher than #50. This list is a few years old
haVoc 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2004 VH1 had it listed as new. I was actually looking for the list "100 Greatest Moments in METAL" which will be on TV soon and this list came up as new.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2004 VH1 had it listed as new. I was actually looking for the list "100 Greatest Moments in METAL" which will be on TV soon and this list came up as new. That special mentions the infamous Mayhem goat incident of last spring.

DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2004 The presence of Sting as a solo artist is a sickening disappointment, especially ahead of Talking Heads, Simon and Garfunkel and T.Rex

Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2004 Maybe it's just me, but there is no bloody way the Stones are better than the Beach Boys, and Jimi Hendrix is good, nI really like him, but he wouldn;t eb my #2, and I don't particularly care for the Beatles(admittedly, I haven;t been bothered to really explore their music, but what I've heard on the radio doesn't do much for me)
spiny norman 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2004 I agree Stones shouldn't be #2, their long career hasn't been consistent enough. I'd put Dylan as #2 (though my actual preference would be Prince, but that's life). And The Beatles stuff they play on the radio is more often than not their weaker stuff. Yes, Love Me Do, Please Please Me etc. are not all too special. But you really should explore their later albums which everybody agrees are far better but the radio stations don't play them because they're not as radio-friendly. Guest croweater Report post Posted April 26, 2004 I don't know what deffinition of Rock and Roll they were using. I haven't heard one Simon and Garfunkle song that is Rock and Roll at all. I wouldn't classify Madonna as a Rock and Roll artist either. James Taylor? Surely not.

haVoc 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2004 The Grateful Dead shouldn't exist. Were you ever lucky enough to experience the Grateful Dead coming to your town/city? If you could deal with all the smelly bastards and dirtbags it was a fun two or three day party. Joints and acid were everywhere and people selling $1 beer bottles/cans out of their coolers. People cooking and selling everything cheap and cops didn't give a damn as long as they didn't see anything. Good times. Looked forward to that every spring and summer. Never went to an actual show, though.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted April 26, 2004 I've spent time on the road before actually. I don't mind hippies at all, I just fucking hate the Grateful Dead. THERE's the drug-addled masturbators, as opposed to The Doors.

Yeah... and while Robert Johnson is the father of the blues, and the blues gave birth to Rock and Roll- I would never call HIM rock and roll. These lists are dumb.
