Bored Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Hey good job A's at awaking a sleeping giant. Of course this skid just happened to start when Frank Menechino came off the DL. He's a curse!!!
Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Nah, they got some cheap hits off of Reith. Reidling gets the job done. He's been the best out of the pen this year. He's in a perfect role as well.
Slayer Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Oh yeah, happy 40th to Reds icon Barry Larkin Dude's been playing for the Reds since I was in 1st grade ....damn
Guest Anglesault Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Its not Yankees-exclusive. I just heard it on the Tigers game. Its brainless, pointless, and highly annoying. You just described the wave.
Slayer Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Congratulations Cincy, you just blew a 9-0 lead to the BREWERS THE F'KING BREWERS
Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I need to drown my self in pee. In pee ladies and gentlemen.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Congratulations Cincy, you just blew a 9-0 lead to the BREWERS THE F'KING BREWERS So, all in all, a good night for baseball?
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Quick news bit: Pratt & Gonzalez each get 3 game suspensions for that brawl in Philly.
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Wow, close play at home for Philly/Cards. Byrd scores to make it 4-3 Phillies in the top of the 9th. Personally, I think Byrd was out, but I'll take it.
Slayer Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 For the 2nd straight night the Reds lose to the Brewers on a walkoff run...
Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 For the 2nd straight night the Reds lose to the Brewers on a walkoff run... Hey atleast we made history. (Largest comeback in Brewers history...) Whatever. Two of the worst games I've seen in recent history. Off day tomorrow. Miley needs to stop acting like Bob Boone and this team needs to stop giving up on the offensive side. Important series with Houston coming up.
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Phillies win 6-3. Ryan Madson pitches 4 no-hit innings in relief to get the win, Wagner gets the save.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Philly wins again. Great outing in relief by Ryan Madson. The Phillies have as deep a pitching staff as any team in baseball right now.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Steve Finley hits THREE homers against the Cubs, one of which tied the game in the bottom of the 8th with two down. Luckily, Alex Gonzalez homered in the 9th, so hopefully, Borowski can nail it down. In a related note, Sexson went down after a swing and had to leave the game, being unable to even finish his at-bat.
Vern Gagne Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Another win for the Twins. Blew a 5-1 lead in the 8th, but scored 4 in bottom of the 8th. Good news is Kyle Lohse had his best start of the season. Anaheim vs Minnesota should be a good series, this weekend. Houston continues it's struggles at Pittsburgh. How do you not hit Josh Fogg?
Styles Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 O's snap their 3 game losing streak, as the pitching returned to form, with 5 solid innings from Ainsworth, 3 hitless from Parrish and 1 hitless from Julio. 3-1 over Mariners. They play Seattle again today at 3, so I guess I'll listen to the radio webcast instead of my usual habit of waiting for the game to be avaliable in the video archive...
KingPK Posted April 29, 2004 Author Report Posted April 29, 2004 Damn, Byung-Hyun Kim was on fire today. Sure, it was the Devil Rays, but he only gave up 1 hit over 5 innings. Not a bad return.
the pinjockey Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Bringing in Roberto Hernandez with the bases loaded and two out in the 8th inning should be a fireable offense. Heaven forbid you let Wagner get four outs instead of three.
Styles Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 O's up 4-0 in the 4th. Last inning, Tejada singled in Roberts, then Palmeiro singled in Mora, then Lopez RBIed (on an error to 3rd) in Tejada and Surhoff sac flied in Palmeiro. Now that's produtive. Brian Roberts is 3-3 and Dubose is starting and just crusing along here... EDIT: 4-2 now as 2 Mariners score on groundouts.
Mik Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Phillies and Cardinals in the 12th...on ESPN right now. Marlins up 2-0 on the Giants on a Hee Seop Choi HR. Penny cruising at this point.
Styles Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Orioles rally in the 7th to blow it open- 8-2! Luis Matos with his 3rd hit of the night, 2 runs bases loaded.
Mik Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Jim Edmonds makes me a happy camper but blasting an 0-2 pitch out in the bottom of the 13th to give St. Louis the win over the Phillies.
Gert T Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Yes, thanks for bailing the Cards out Edmonds, and thanks for the extra four innings Izzy. Interesting gamesmenship between LaRussa & Bowa today.
Mik Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Barry Bonds is so damn impressive. He just homered off Brad Penny in SF, the only run they have been able to manage so far. He singled in the first, then got an IBB, and now the homer. Bonds is worth the praise, IMO.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Tejada is hurt after getting hit in the face with a ball thrown from Palmeiro that glanced off the runner's helmet and led to a 3 run rally for the Mariners.. Julio in to try and nail it down with a 4 run lead in the 9th
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Interesting gamesmenship between LaRussa & Bowa today. The Cards pitcher apparently had a noticeable spot of pine tar on his hat, so any manager with 1/2 a brain *should* ask to have it checked. Then LaRussa decides to get petty by having Burrell's bat confiscated (despite Pat being 0-4 at that point, not to mention only having a few HR's total for the season).
Mik Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Mike Lowell goes deep in the top of the 9th to break a 3-3 tie in San Fran! He's pretty clutch lately. Also, Justin Wayne came in in the bottom of the 8th with no outs and bases loaded. He got a DP and a harmless out to get out of the inning relatively unscathed.
NoCalMike Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Come on A's, salvage this trip to NY with at least one win. I know it is Kevin Brown, but come on, make something happen. ARGH~!
NoCalMike Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Alright Chavey~! Eric Chavez with the bomb to right-center field! 2-0 A's..........Gawd I hope Zito has his head out of his ass tonight.....
