Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 27, 2004 (edited) Now, nothing pisses me off more than a Yankee fan who seems more obsessed with the Red Sox than actually being a fan of the Yankees, but Good Lord, the occasional "Boston Sucks" doesn't hold a candle to this stuff. First he wouldn't play for NY. Then he wouldn't change positions. The mighty dollar has the final word. This tee shirt says it all. The almighty dollar? But that...doesn't...make sense... It took me like 10 minutes to try and figure out why Joltin' Joe was selected for the shirt. Then I realized what "5" was. The lunacy of telling people to shove 26 championhips while broadcasting five is, well, lunacy. ::sighs:: They're not even clever. Why not just stop at this? Bored 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2004 Surprised you didn't post the "Yankees Suck, Jeter Swallows" shirt. I actually own a Jason Giambi Yankees Suck shirt ("Oakland" on the front, "Yankees Suck" on the back with Giambi's old #16) as they jumped on that bandwagon when he left the A's. I wore it during the 2002 season and of course to Giambi's return game (oooo could cut the hatred with a knife in the crowd that night) and received several compliments for it. The chip on my shoulder about the Yankees and Giambi doesn't way me down quite as much now. Still hate Giambi but kinda indifferent towards the Yankees so I have since stashed it away. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2004 Im hoping the May 25th (my birthday) Os/Yankees game at Camden Yards isn't so full of Yankees fans as it was the game I went too last year. I might feel comfortable wearing my Yankees Suck shirt. Who doesn't have one of those?

KingPK 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2004 I had a Yankees Suck shirt with Clemens' number on the back. Don't know what I did with it, though. I am tempted to get one of those Yankee Hater hats though. But yeah, couldn't you have put this in the baseball thread or something, AS?
Jorge Gorgeous 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2004 The Red Sox fans have been so gracious as to make a few items featuring the New York Yankees... I say we just return the favor. A few suggestions: - A hanky with 1918 embroidered in the corner, for the die-hard Red Sox fan when they inevitably blow another World Series victory. -Some kind of leather whip studded with tiny little B's, so Red Sox fan can lavish in pain and misery during the off season, when their humble ball club is unable to afford them any (unless they botch a few more trades) - A croquet set that, instead of using the traditional balls, uses balls that are painted white with red seams and instead of using the traditional rings to hit them through, uses little Bill Buckner dolls. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 27, 2004 Boston keeps proving why they are losers. Instead of being crybabies, why not try fucking winning a title instead of playing the blame game. If the ANAHIEM ANGELS, ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS, and FLORIDA MARLINS can win World Series', then I think Boston can.

KingPK 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2004 (edited) Doesn't look good on a shirt, and doesn't make a good chant. The only design I remotely like is the last one, simple and effective. The "Shank a Yank" and "Killin' with Schilling" ones are too mean spirited for my taste. Edited April 27, 2004 by Kingpk

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 27, 2004 Here's a shirt slogan... "We Win Titles so we don't need to act like 5 year olds" Sure it's too long, but come on... "WAAH! Yankees beat us again!" "WAAH! Yankees signed Jason Giambi!" "WAAH! Yankees signed Alex Rodriguez!" "WAAH! The curse of the bambino!" "WAAH! We haven't one dick in 86 years so we need to come up with stupid shirt ideas because we suck!" Sorry, Yankee fan here. Fuck Boston Crap (remember, my name for R.Sox fans). nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2004 The only shirt shown that I find even remotely funny is the "I hate NY but hate the Yankees" ... the others are an embaressment. And people have to realize that these shirts are worn, for the most part, by the same guys that wear backwards baseball hats 99% of the time, and end sentences with 'guy' (e.g. "we're going to the Harp to drink some beers, guy") and think that date-rape is something to joke about. (no offense meant to anyone here that owns one ... mind you I said "for the most part" before beginning that sentence) Most of them are sold by college-aged kids to drunk meatheads out front of Fenway. The shirts, and their wearers, shouldn't be viewed as the norm for Boston sports fans. Plus, the Yankees aren't above 'witty' t-shirts, I have vivid memories of seeing a drunk guy passed out at a bar near Fenway wearing a shirt that said "Why do they call it the World Series if it's always played in the Bronx?" Some Guy 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2004 These shirts are a bit over the top. But the "Yankees Suck. Jeter Swallows" shirt is still funny even though its been around for a few years. I don't have any of this shit. I wear Red Sox hats, not anti-Yanks stuff. It's just a way for a few guys to make money and it doesn't hurt anybody (I doubt anyone is going to try to "shank a Yank"), I have no problem with this stuff other than "Hey Yanks, yank this" or whatever. It's just not clever. Nor are any of the things that Man Of 1,004 Modes listed. Seems to me that the Yanks have choked badly in the 2001 and 2003 series, as well as getting their asses handed to them by the Angels in the ALDS in 2002. "WAAH! Yankees beat us again!" "WAAH! Yankees signed Jason Giambi!" "WAAH! Yankees signed Alex Rodriguez!" "WAAH! The curse of the bambino!" I never said any of those things. It was more like, "Jesus Christ, do they really need that guy?" And then I stop to think that we have took Foulke, Schilling, Manny, Pedro, Williamson, Kim, etc... tha same way that NY took those guys and move on with my life. Very few people in Boston buy into the Babe Ruth nonsense. It is more of something that the national media gloms onto and repeats over and over and over and over. I have no problem with Fox playing the clips from the ALCS before the first Sox/Yanks game this year, it is relevant after all, but the footage of Bucky Dent, Buckner, Ruth, etc... is just old and tired. There is nothing to be gained from it. Everybody already knows that shit and anybody with half a brain knows that ther is no such thing as curses. Just like there is no such thing as Santa Claus. Furthermore, Buckner's error was in game 6 when the game was already tied, the wild pitch that lost the lead and then blowign game 7 is the real story, Lou Pinnela's blind stop (he was playing right, the sun was in his eyes and he just reached out and happened to catch the ball on a hop) of Remy's base hit in the 78 game is really the story there, had that ball gotten past him, Dent's homer wouldn't have mattered, Boone's homer it the ALCS last year isn't really the story, leaving Pedro in the game is. But they don't make for sensationalist stories. But I guess I'm just a whining Boston fan. Unlike Yankees fans who have so little confidence in their team that they think the season is over after 20 games and that they suck.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Those shirts are retarded, plain and simple. YES there are some Red Sox fans that love hating the Yankees, YES I was once one of those. Last season I changed, I was rooting for the Yanks to make the ALCS against Boston because if nothing else, it's the greatest playoff matchup ANY year. I loved every aspect of the 7 games series they played last year. Both teams were even, Both were great, and Both deserved to win. I'm a fanatical Red Sox fan, and NOT a Yankee hater. This is how the real majority of real fans of this team are.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 See...the difference between a Mets fan's hate of the Yanks and a BoSox fan's hate of the Yanks is that the Mets fan wants the Yankees to go through what the Mets have gone through and stop being glory hogs. A BoSox fan has no life and wants to kill a Yank.
