alfdogg Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Link~ I, for one, don't see how those stats are ubstantiated. It's not that hard to compile that. And I've known several players (Ray Allen and Michael Finley to name a couple) to talk about or react to Bowen's tactics. We'll find out in the finals, though. Discuss.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 why does Popovich even care about these stupid awards?
Ripper Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 why does Popovich even care about these stupid awards? Well, maybe it was a important award to Bruce. Or maybe this is the set up for the Finals DRAWMUH~!
The Electrifyer Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 "Tell his coach, 'Let's play one-on-one for the award,"' Artest said after practice. "I'll give it to him if he can beat me." Artest is the man. I hope (but doubt) Bowen accepts his challenge.

Its not really fair though, because Artest can actually score and handle the ball while Bowen can...well... shoot threes from the corner. If he takes a step in, he shoots an airball.

Does it bother you that right now, the Bulls realistically could have had Brad Miller, Elton Brand, Ron Artest and Jamal Crawford on the court with there starting squad. I mean, as a suns fan, I know I shouldn't be picking at any other GM, but goddamn.
razazteca Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 You would think a comment on Pop's own radio talk show would not be taken so seriously, but now Artest is demanding a One-on-One game with Bruce Bowen to see who is the best!
Guest Redhawk Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Remember the play when Vince Carter shot a three, and Bowen kinda slid under him so that when Vince came down he landed on Bowen's foot and rolled his ankle? Stuff like that is why even nice guys like Ray Allen want to smack Bowen. Artest is rough, definitely, but not dirty.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I say Bruce Bowen deserves the award strictly on this play alone Now that's how you stop someone from scoring
Guest Redhawk Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Bruce Bowen, Chan Ho Park, Liu Kang. Charlie's Male Angels?
razazteca Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 And to think everybody was calling the Spurs soft over the last few seasons.
Guest Banders Kennany Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I say Bruce Bowen deserves the award strictly on this play alone Now that's how you stop someone from scoring Damn, was that intentional? Who's the guy taking that hit?
Dangerous A Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 This is all much ado about nothing. Artest won and he deserves it. Right now, I bet Artest would love to have what Bowen won last year:an NBA Championship Ring.

I mean, as a suns fan, I know I shouldn't be picking at any other GM, but goddamn. Very much so, that bothers me. However, I doubt those guys could have truly shown off there talents like they have on there teams right now. The Bulls organization doesn't look like a place where young talent can truly develop, unfortunately.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 I will always gladly bash the Bulls, but remember that the Clips gave Brand a maximum contract, which he is most certainly not worth. I think they should keep Chandler and dump Curry myself.

Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 he's a great rebounder, a good scorer in the post, and an ok shot blocker, and he's small. Shareef got a max contract for puting up 20 and 10 on a crappy team too, I think we can agree he's not worth it.
Ripper Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 he was in third last year and in the top five in blocks this year i believe.
